THR: How will Emily Deschanel’s pregnancy impact the story line?
Hanson: The baby will be born, and these two disparate people are going to have to figure out the environment in which that child will be raised. What is their relationship? Are they going live together? How involved will Booth be in the raising of the baby? We have a shortened season because Emily is actually pregnant. We hope to get 16 episodes done, I’m sure we will. That’s going be the bulk of this year.

    With a November 3 debut date and The Finder in the same time slot for 13 episodes mid-season, it's probably going to wind being 14 episodes, unless Fox has a plan for the extra time.

    X-Factor debuts on September 22, and gives up an hour for Bones on Nov. 3  Depends on when X-Factor's cycle ends...could be room in December for a couple.

    I'm pretty disappointed about this. Everyone having babies is the last desperate gasp for air of dying television shows. They become incredibly, incredibly boring as there are only a few stories related to babies and they've been done thousands of times.

    i am not agree with you the actrees pregnacy is real she is marry and is normal too have a baby will be amazing too see how her body change like tjhis other actrees who work in the series in plain site this new situacion wiil move the show in a very  positive and different way all fan waited for this too happen.

    I kind of agree with what nellymemdez said.

    Also, yes, Angela had a child last year, but that was planned before Emily even got married. And it was said in an interview that HH knew what would happen sometime soon when he attended Emily's wedding, so they've been building up to that story for a while as well ... it didn't have to happen, but it did.
    I personally think shooting around an actress' growing belly, just doing head shots or having her sit at huge tables more often or adjust the (in this case) lab-coat in order to cover up her actual real-life pregnancy is usually way more awkward than writing it into the show. Sure, you can't do that with a show that has a massive cast and lost of ppl getting pregnant, but with Bones the cast is not that big and it was Angela before Bones and now it's Bones being pregnant due to Emily's real pregnancy and I don't think it's something to be disappointed about.

    Just knowing that the baby belly we'll see is an actual baby belly with a cude bundle that's about to be born sometime soon makes me happy to see Bones like this - 'cause when she will glow, it will not just be Bones, the character, but also Emily, the actress.

    Also, I think it's actually a perfect story arc for Bones & Booth. Even if I do admit that I would have liked to see that happen later, I really do like that it's happening.

    I think the show needed a bit of a shake up and I think its interesting that the struggle to get BB together finally happened and then they skipped all the steps inbetween which will be a fun thing to watch. they have to adjust to their new relationship and the fact that no matter what they will always have a connection, their baby

    i am agree with you in certain way we waiting for this bones/booth to move on 6 season if the actrees didnt get pregnact for real may be 1 year more butt  the writers had too create a situacion soon but mother nature intervine and real baby coming yeees will be fun see this characters  with so diferent personalities and thoughs united in one comon ground babys future.

    Can we at least shoot for 18? 20? with long hiatus'? I dont't mind those but hell, 16 episodes is from January to May almost.
