Supernatural - Favorite 7th Episode - Poll

9 Jun 2011

Thanks to everyone who has been voting and commenting in these polls. Since the SpoilerTV Best Show competition is gearing up and since I head out on vacation next week, we're going to speed these polls up a bit. Instead of waiting every two days for a new poll, I will put them up daily. You will still have 2 days to vote but results will be slightly delayed. Speaking of results, I'm calling the 6th episode poll slightly early. The winner is Skin with 44% of the vote, closely followed by Yellow Fever at 37%. I'm glad Skin won because for me it has all the elements of classic Supernatural balanced within it.

This round for me has better choices than the last one but most of the episodes are still pretty average. It's another case of a hands-down winner for me but things are closer than before. (What's up with the long titles in seasons 4 and 5 by the way?) So which episode do you like best out of the following:

Hook Man
The Usual Suspects
Fresh Blood
It's the Great Pumpkin, Sam Winchester
The Curious Case of Dean Winchester
Family Matters

Don't forget that comments are the rainbow after a storm. Oh and choose who you think will win the Best Show contest here. Contest directions here. If you are new, I highly recommend you use Adam's easy-to-follow directions. Plus, it's never too early to talk it up to friends and strangers. It can get pretty intense and many rounds go down to the wire. I want to make sure Supernatural is well-represented, especially since I will be on vacation in the beginning and won't be able to vote. I'll be one sad Dahne if Supernatural is out of the running when I get back. SPN ftw.

  1. "The Usual Suspects" for sure. Linda Blair and the Winchesters are made of win ♥

  2. Family Matters for me.

  3. I loved the humor in The Curious Case of Dean Winchester - lots of laughs and then the touching moment between Bobby and Dean at the end. The Usual Suspects was a close second with Family Matters in third and Fresh Blood in 4th.  It's the Great Pumpkin didn't really do it for me, the angels were dicks.

  4. The Curious Case of Dean Winchester.  I love Dean's happy dance and Bobby's response of "idjit" LOL

I tough one. For me none of these episodes really stood out at all
Came down to usual suspects and family matters with Usual suspects winning. Mainly because I love season two and seeing how amazingly the brothers function when they are separated was awesome. And deans confession to the camera was classic

  6. This one came down to The Usual Suspects because I love the way it was told and how it showed the brothers knowing each other so well and how to react to everything even when separated, and Fresh Blood because I love the brothers in it as well. Also Sam killing Gordon was pretty good too. I ended up going with Fresh Blood.

  7. Family Matters.
The others all have their good points, but that alpha vamp was creepy. As were the Campbells.
And of course we had the big reveal that Crowley was responsible for bringing Sam & Samuel back,(except we now know he wasn't) and that he was after purgatory.
We learned that Cas' true form is similar in size to that of the Chrysler building.
And we learned that Sam was soulless. And the Grandpa Creepy wasn'tsoulless - he was just a jerk.
    And also:
Dean to Grandpa: 'So what's so important that you're the King of Hell's cabana boy, huh? What did
he offer you? Girls? Money? Hair?'

  8. The Curious Case of Dean Winchester and Family Matters for me, but voted for FM.

  9. Family Matters hands down for me - really was the turning point for Season 6 which elevated it from great to awesome for me.

    Followed by:

    2. The Curious Case of Dean Winchester
    3. The Usual Suspects
    4. It's the Great Pumpkin, Sam Winchester
    5. Fresh Blood
    6. Hook Man

  10. Fresh Blood would be my number 1 loved everything about it.
The Usual Suspects is number 2
Also loved The Great Pumpkin Sam chester and The Curious Case of Dean Winchester those two are pretty even for me.
    Hookman c.
And Family Matters a example of everything that was wrong in the way they were treating Sam in season 4 he was there but the writer actually forgot to write for him horrible.

  11. The Usual Suspects and Fresh Blood are good episodes, the rest of them are kind of eh for me.

  12. Fresh Blood for me, followed by The Usual Suspects and Family Matters.

  13. "The usual Suspects" and "Its the great pumpkin Sam Winchester" were brilliant episodes, in my opinion. The others were nice, but not as good as them :)
So, I chose "The usual suspects" as the best 7th episode because of the relationship between the brothers... :P

  14. Oh wow, this one is so close!! Apart form Hook Man all episodes have from 15 to 25% of votes so far. really interesting!
But anyways, I went with Fresh Blood. Another great episode of the underrated season 3. I loved the twist with making Gordon a vampire and the entire episode was really tense. Family Matters would be my second choice, also one of the strongest episodes of season 6. The rest were good, but not outstanding to me.

but I must say it's really sad season 6 hasn't won any polls yet and most likely won't win this one either. I really believe episodes 5-7 of the season could have been worthy winners of their polls (even though I only voted for YCHTT). I think many people are really prejudiced against season 6 and I believe it really wasn't worse than at least seasons 1 and 5.

  15. Voted for "The Curious Case of Dean Winchester", it sure made me laugh a lot. I also appreciated Fresh Blood.

  16. So glad to see another person who loved season 6.  I agree that Family Matters upped the ante and moved it into awesome.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Agreed, it won't win here and I'll eat my hat if All Dogs is in the top 3.  Season 6 does have a fair shot of winning with French Mistake and Frontierland.  It's hard sometimes to put aside what you think of a season to vote for an episode, especially since many had such a negative view of Family Man Dean and RoboSam.  I would say season 6 was vastly better than season 5 but season 1 holds a special place in my heart.

  18. Fresh Blood for me =)
But "It's the Great Pumpkin, Sam Winchester" is a pretty close second choice :P

  19. I voted Fresh Blood but for me it's really a 3 way tie between FB, Pumpkin and FM. US was very good, too, Curious Case was above average and Hookman was meh.

    ReplyDelete
  20. I'm sitting this one out. I honestly can't choose...

    ReplyDelete
  21. Family Matters, intense and great acting. Bonus - directed by Guy Bee.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I loved all of these except Hookman... and that one was pretty good. Usual Suspects already has the most votes, so I thought I would vote for something else... Ummmm... Darn! Ummmmm... OK, I think I'm gonna go for Fresh Blood because.... "Just 'cause".

    ReplyDelete
  23. Tough choice between Suspects, Blood, Pumpkin, and Family.  I went with Suspects because it represented what I liked best about season 2 - it was a simpler time when the brothers could argue without it meaning that one was stabbing the other in the back, they could wordlessly switch gears to backing each other up without having a conversation on having each other's backs, their escapes were clever, some of their more interesting nemeses were humans, and the persons in peril they met were often interesting characters we'd want to see again.

  24. yeah, The French Mistake will probably win its poll and maybe as the only episode of season 6. Frontierland will be up against as great episodes as Something Wicked, Monster at the End of This Book and Point of No Return and frankly even I did not like 6x18 all that much. But I think episode 18 will be a tough game. I'd say The Man Who Would Be King could have chances if it wasn't up against What Is and What Should Never Be.
so, it really may happen that The French Mistake will be the only season 6 episode among the winners (and even though I'm probably gonna vote for it, I'll still have a hard time not voting for Death Takes a Holiday).

  25. Ha!  "Just cause" what a refreshing and honest reason.  I'm using that one next time.

  26. They were all good, but Family Matters far surpasses the others.  The story was intense.  We learned so much in this episode.    Season 6 is a great season, no  matter what many may think.  I would follow this with The Usual Suspects, The Curious Case of Dean Winchester, Fresh Blood, It's the Great Pumpkin, Sam Winchester, and Hook Man.

  27. I went with Fresh Blood, Sam killing Gordon and giving Dean that speech? Yep this episode was pretty good.

    ReplyDelete
  28. some what have to agree with you here, I saw Family Matters as the turning point of season 6 too. The first 5 episodes (excluding WAB) were just awful, I was about ready to give up then Family Matters happened and I was excited to watch again, shame the season didn't really take of after that though, but it was definitely much better.

Though I didnt not enjoy season 6 at all really I am glad there were people who did enjoy it because it means I get a season 7 which will hopefully restore my love and faith in the show.

  29. oh yeah, that speech is one of my favourite brother moments from the entire series!! how could I forget to mention it in my comment?
"you're scared cause your year is running out and you're still going to hell and you're freaked"
"and how do you know that?"
    "because I know you!"
    "really?"
"yeah, because I've been following you around my entire life!"
    and then:
"so yeah, I know you. better than anyone in the entire world"
    aww
I mean seriously. Gotta love the episode at least for this scene.

  30. Excellent reason to vote for Fresh Blood, in Sam's most moving words during that episode.

    ReplyDelete
  31. This was one was definitely a toss-up between The Usual Suspects and Fresh Blood, but I went with Fresh Blood.

I chose this because this was the very first time Sammy's (damn it, I will say Sammy!) words actually got to Dean. Sam asked for his brother and that's exactly what Dean delivered. I know it was such a small scene in a grand episode, but it hit me a lot because we were dawning close to his impending doom, and we just wanted him to get off his kamikaze crazy and be Sammy's brother again.

    ReplyDelete
  32. YES YES YES!

That's the reason I chose this episode––'cause of the speech! It was one of best moments in the series. Hands down.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Strangely enough, the only episode worth rewatching (often!) is Family Matters. For once, Season Six wins for me.

    ReplyDelete
  34. That whole speech really got me...

  35. I love the way his voice cracked a bit *sniff*
