Hope you all had a couple of great weeks? I know our goal is try to do this podcast weekly, but this time we took a little longer but only because it was taking time to coordinate everyone's schedules for this podcast.
It is a super-sized extended podcast with over two hours of awesomeness! Also, we had a couple of special guests join us this week, the other two-thirds of the ODI LOST podcast Vozzek (aka Danny) and Karen joined us this week to chat up both Game of Thrones and Fringe!
Also, Kimberly was back with CJ to talk about the 2-hour season 6 finale of Supernatural! As always we have our regular weekly segments with us chatting about various other shows, the Summer Movie releases, and the weekly TV Teasers! There is some discussion about Dexter and I give my initial thoughts about the Smallville Series finale.
The podcast was posted on iTunes earlier today so maybe some of you already downloaded it, but for those that missed it, below is an audio player with a download link.
Adam and I had a great time doing this podcast with everyone so we hope you all enjoy it more!

Got it downloaded and ready to listen too on my way to work :)
ReplyDeleteI am seriously hurting myself trying not to say it... failing....
ReplyDeleteBADGES! We don't need no stinkin' badges!
Apologies... I couldn't refrain.....
It's nice to see even non-readers felt the medieval manscaping scene seemed forced into the episode. It was never in the books, but does add context to Renly's future actions.
ReplyDeleteVERY MINOR SPOILER warning... get used to new characters introduced "out of the blue", Season Two will show add another dozen or so relatively major characters. In Book1 you meet the Starks, Baratheons and Lannisters... in Book 2 you meet their bannermen (lesser noble house that are pledged to them). and Book 3 introduces another part of the world related to characters we already know.
I think there is somewhere around 75 or more substantial roles in the 4 books released so far. This is not a world where everything centers on a few people....it is far more complex and nuanced. That said, the story arcs do stay relatively focused on a dozen or so characters we've already met.
Interesting Fringe talk... STOP IT!
It just makes me want Season Four to start now dammit! XD
Rage over.
Will listen to the post-SPN segments later, but GREAT work team podcast (and guest callers)!
LOL I was wondering what kind of world was on the other side of the Wall and was wondering what lies in the "other" kingdoms as well...i don't mind new characters as long as the flow is done well but the issue usually is the casual viewer gets turned off because it gets too challenging to follow and remember...
ReplyDeleteHeck we are doing a podcast, I am into it, online reading about it and I can't remember the names sometimes still.
Next podcast will discuss episodes 1.06, 1.07 and 1.08, so you will get an extended GoT segment. :)
You'll get some 'over there' beyond The Wall next year or maybe Season Three depending on if they split Book Two into two seasons like it was rumored.
ReplyDeleteIt's true! With so many characters it's hard to keep track of names and cities etc. I am the same way with any large cast series, but seeing everything in print while reading the books registers it in my brain differently. Maybe that helps with name recall?
Three episodes in one podcast? I'd squee but I have a headache already... Looking forward to it!
