Six Feet Under
ReplyDeleteBuffy
No difficult choices for me today.
I voted Heroes as up until the final episode of season one it was a very snazzy and well crafted show.
ReplyDeleteAnd The West Wing as Aaron Sorkin created a masterpiece of a show that is just quality drama, comedy, political thriller... Brilliant!
I've only seen a couple episodes of each show so I went ahead and voted for Heroes and Buffy. Because what I did see was good.
ReplyDeleteHeroes and Buffy!:)
ReplyDeleteSix Feet Under and The West Wing. Quality TV is crying right now.
ReplyDeleteSix feet under and of course Buffy!!
ReplyDeleteSix Feet Under is one of the bast damn shows ever! Hopefully it doesn't lose...I'm still upset about Gossip Girl :(
ReplyDeleteHeroes for my bracket since I never watched either show. Although based on their plots, I would probably like Heroes better anyway.
ReplyDeleteBuffy because it's Buffy! I liked the first couple seasons of The West Wing, but Buffy sucked me in to its allegory and mythology. Sure both of them had sucky seasons and some characters I hated (President Bartlet, Dawn Summers), but season 2 of Buffy contains some of the best TV episodes I have ever watched. To this day, Becoming brings me to tears and I'm not usually a crier. In fact, although it is sacrilege for me to say, Becoming beats What is and What Should Never Be as my favorite TV episode and I am a hardcore Supernatural fan.
Six Feet Under
ReplyDeleteBuffy
Heroes had such a great first season, it's a shame the rest of the show never lived up to that. I don't think it really recovered after the writers strike.
Six Feet Under vs. Heroes was a toss-up for me, and it looks pretty close in the vote results. But Buffy wins over just about anything. There's no way anyone that watched the entire series could not vote for Buffy.
ReplyDeleteYou didn't like Jed? :O Jed was awesome, even down to the finer details such as the way he swings his jacket over his head t put it on... legend!!
ReplyDeleteI found him to be hypocritical, egotisitcal, sanctimonious, and ultra liberal. He annoyed me from the start.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean!I recently started to watch Buffy for the first time and I just finished season 6 now!I have to say it has become one of my favourite shows ever!!!!And Becoming was incredible!!!I cried and I have only done that while watching tv only during lost's finale The End and The Body in Buffy Season 5!I hope it wins!!!
ReplyDeleteare you sure you watched Buffy then?
ReplyDelete:P
You obviously haven't seen all of Buffy then.
ReplyDeleteBUFFY BUFFY BUFFY :)
ReplyDeleteand six feed under
I loved heroes in season one. It was an incredible show. And even though the next 3 or 4 seasons were really messed up and pretty crappy, I still never missed an episode. So my vote goes to heroes.
ReplyDeleteAlso voted Buffy coz it was my bracket pick
Six Feet Under
ReplyDeleteBuffy The Vampire Slayer
Although The West Wing gets an honorable mention for being in it's 12th season in the altverse. ;)
The West Wing
ReplyDeleteBuffy and Six Feet Under.
ReplyDeleteTwo of the best TV shows of their decade if not ever.
lol Only a couple episodes a few years back but from what I saw I liked it.
ReplyDeleteHeroes
ReplyDeleteNever watched either show in the first poll, but voted Heroes for my bracket.
Buffy. Buffy. Buffy. =D
I love it. Amazing show.
I honestly have no idea how to vote for this one. I haven't seen The West Wing, and I didn't like Buffy enough to blindly vote for it over a possibly more-deserving show. As for the other, I feel like Six Feet Under is clearly the better show from a quality standpoint (or at least a writing standpoint), but I really enjoyed Seasons 1 and 4 of Heroes (even if Season 3 was the worst thing I've ever seen on TV). I didn't really enjoy Six Feet Under though. Too much gratuity for gratuity's sake, very few likable characters, a plot line that just didn't interest me in the least (beyond the family grieving Nathan, Sr.). But the writing itself wasn't nearly as flawed a mess as Heroes's was.
ReplyDeleteSo I want to vote for Heroes out of the two, but I feel Six Feet Under is more deserving despite me not liking it as much...
Buffy of course. I'm only on season 2, Angelus has just arrived, but it's an awesome show.
ReplyDeleteEven though the last 2 seasons of Six Feet Under weren't that good anymore it still was way better than anything on Heroes after season 1. Plus it had an insanely good series finale.
ReplyDeleteAnd I never really understood all the hype about Buffy. I watched it occasionally and there were some fun episodes, but I never became a regular viewer. West Wing was a great show, so it gets my vote.
six feet under and westwing
ReplyDeleteThese competitions hurt my head. West wing losing to Buffy and SFU losing to Heroes? Seriously?
ReplyDeleteFangirls united :(
Six feet under and Buffy!
ReplyDeleteYou guys really need to give buffy another try. It's very well written (up to a certain point, anyway) and very funny.
Actually I think season 4 of Heroes was one of the worst things I've seen on TV and I really liked season 3, almost as much as I did season 1. I think the show was a really great potential, but turned out mediocre. But still, my love for some characters and the fact I've never watched Six Feet Under made me vote for Heroes.
ReplyDeleteWHAT?! I always thought you were such a die hard What Is and What Should Never Be fan!!! now I definitely have to see Becoming (I only watched Buffy from time to time when nothing else was on)
ReplyDeleteBUFFY!!!
ReplyDeleteWow. So I'm not the only one who just started borrowing Buffy DVDs from the library. It is an awesome show with an imaginative premise. I can how it has influenced other shows. So very entertaining. I'm in the middle of season 4 right now and yes, Becoming was wonderful. Wild at Heart was sad. I tried to get into The West Wing but never could, but it has an impressive number of Emmy wins. I remember the time our local TV critic raged because "the wrong Sarah with 3 names won" the Emmy (the annoying SJP beat out SMG. Travesty).
I didn't vote in the other poll because I never watched a full episode of either, but from the little I saw, I probably would prefer Six Feet Under.
Heroes and West Wing for me.
ReplyDeleteAlmost picked Buffy, though. Simply because of the memories. I used to watch it when I was a college in the dorm tv room, and there was this special cameraderie between the people who watched it together, even though we didn't necessarily hang out otherwise.
I know! I'd vote Jed Bartlett for President. Actually, I'd probably vote for Martin Sheen as President.
ReplyDeleteBut I found the character of Jed to be very likeable because he was flawed. Had a bit too much of a temper sometimes, stepped in it more than once. But they were all like that. Such a well cast show. What kind of genius put Stockard Channing and Martin Sheen together as a couple. And the guest/recurring cast was brilliant too. Ainsley Hayes, Lord Marbury....and Sheriff Lucas Buck as the inarticulate Bob Russell. Oh, the irony.
Ha! I am a diehard WiaWSNB fan. I still consider it the best episode Supernatural has ever done. It's just that Becoming is the pinnacle of perfect. However, if you want to view it at its best, you have to watch everything that comes before it. The emotional punch comes from the struggle and the relationships the story has built in the first two seasons. I don't think it would kick you in the heart without being emotionally invested in all the characters.
ReplyDeleteYou are so lucky. Angelus is right where Buffy went from great to unforgettable. That's it. I'm doing a Buffy season 2 marathon this week.
ReplyDeleteThat The West Wing is losing is, unfortunately, everything that is wrong in television today. I was obsessed with Buffy for a good ten years but it just doesn't compare.
ReplyDeleteAnyone who's seen all of Buffy weeps for quality tv.
ReplyDeleteUltra liberal is a bad thing?
ReplyDeleteI did. It's weak television compared to The West Wing. Especially anything post-Season 5.
ReplyDeleteNo hard choices for me today!
ReplyDeleteBuffy . . . because it's Buffy!!!!
I grew up with that show. I still rewatch it, laugh at the dialogue, cry during The Body and The Gift and quote it to my friends (who don't get it, because they haven't watched it, but I'll convert them yet).
Six Feet Under . . . because I haven't watched Heroes but loved the feel of the show.
I wholly agree!! =D
ReplyDeleteI've seen until Phases (ep 15) and I've been taping them recently because a channel in canada is showing them so i'm going to wait a few weeks till i have seasons 2 and 3 and watch them all :D. I switched from Buffy to Bones because Boreanaz is amazing and i ended up watching 85 episodes in the past 5 weeks. I think I have a problem.
ReplyDeleteI am a new Buffy Watcher, and it is THE BEST SHOW EVER. I am in love with it. And it is no surprise that is got my vote.
ReplyDeleteBUFFY ALL THE WAY!!!
BEST SHOW EVER !
VOTE BUFFY!
Yep, very few shows can surpass the quality of TV Buffy brought us. Well at least in the first seasons. The latter ones not so much.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely! In my experience ultra anything is usually a bad thing. Jed was an example of that.
ReplyDeleteOf course if you're an ultra fan of say a show about 2 brothers saving the world - that's an exception. :-)
no
ReplyDeleteWhy NOT?
ReplyDeleteIts Buffy !! <3
