Spoiler TV: The Best TV Show Competition 2011 - Day 9 - Fringe vs. Modern Family & Glee vs. Greys Anatomy

21 Jun 2011

Hey Guys,

Yesterday saw strong victories for LOST and The Wire and they will have a repeat contest of last years Semi-Final in only the second round. Exiting the competition at the first hurdle are Sex & The City and The OC, who both never really got going and as a result disappointed to ever challenge the two winners...

Today has a monster of a match-up between Sci-Fi favourite Fringe and the best comedy on TV at the moment (if awards are anything to go by) in Modern Family. Also potentially the monster match-up of the first round as two of the biggest juggernauts of current television square up against each other in round one, Glee and Grey's Anatomy. Which way that will go is anybody's guess and I'm looking forward to what is sure to be a tough and heart-breaking day for some fans.

The rules for, for anyone new to the competition is very simple. There will be new sets of shows against each other every day in a new set of polls... simply vote for your favourite and the show with the most votes will win that days poll and head into the next round.

Don't forget to spread the word, and tweet out the competition to friends as well as facebook liking the post...
Also if you are taking part in the prediction competition, don't forget to follow your scores HERE We already have no perfect brackets left in the competition, Round 1 so far has been ruthless!

All that's left to say, is good luck to every show...
... and let the battles begin!

  1. Only voted for Fringe. One of my current top shows, and I don't watch the others so I'll leave that to the fans to fight over :P

  2. Due to my utter dislike of Grey's Anatomy, I voted Glee (even though I will stop watching that show if the storylines don't get better in Season 3).

    And duh, Fringe.

  3. Fringe, altho I didn't like s3

  4. Fringe all the way and then voted for Greys. It's been frustrating, but better than Glee that sold it's soul after the 1st half of the 1st season!

  5. Fringe (although I enjoy MF) and Grey's for sure. While Glee was fun in its first season, it has been rather lackluster of late. Grey's has undergone a creative upswing since the Season 6 finale.

  6. Who else voted for Fringe?
    :D

BTW, I didn't touch the glee vs Grey's Anatomy. Maybe if I don't accept its existence, neither will continue in the competition?

  7. I love Modern Family, but Fringe obviously.
And Grey's, (I believe anyone who has watched both Grey's and Glee should)

  8. Watch and like both Glee and Grey's, but had to go with Grey's in the end.

  9. Modern Family, and I'm kind of ashamed to say I voted Glee over Grey's, but I don't know why.

  10. I voted for Fringe.

Season 2 was darn good but season 3 simply was the best drama on network television, hands down. I'm sad Modern Family had to be up against Fringe in the 1st round though, the show has no chance to win and that's too bad because it really is one of the best comedies currently on the air on networks.

I voted for Grey's Anatomy in the second poll.

As a great man with a big forehead once said : "I hate Glee. I don't
understand the appeal at all". I couldn't agree more to these words of
wisdom. I don't like Grey's Anatomy much, but I admit they do some pretty good episodes every now and then (the season 6 finale was a great moment of television), so I voted for it.

  11. Fringe and Grey's.

Grey's is my favourite show still on TV.

  12. Did the same thing myself. It get's harder all the time to find decent t.v.,so Fringe had to be the one.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Just gonna myself to this as well. Fringe Rocks!

    ReplyDelete
  14. Grey's Anatomy all the way!!!!!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  15. Grey's not gonna beat Glee right? Teenagers, where are you? (just saying that cause I put Glee in the winning position im my bracket :D which is already doomed so I don't know why I care..)

    ReplyDelete
  16. Fringe, Fringe, Fringe! And then Grey's Anatomy.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Same here, except I have seen Greys and Glee. I consider neither to be decent television, so it doesn't matter who moves on.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Fringe and Glee for me!!! I hate Grey's Anatomy and I've only seen 3 episodes of Modern Family...

    ReplyDelete
  19. Voted Fringe and Glee, I like Greys but i love Finn & Rachel so thats why i chose Glee

  20. Ok, I gotta admit, Glee has become my guilty pleasure since that couple competition we had here some time ago. Many people were encouraging me to try it, but I used to be rather skeptical about another teenage drama and a musical TV show. But then I decided to give it a shot, just to be able to tell my friends that I tried. And I completely fell in love!! I watched both seasons within 2 weeks, which was kinda impressive considering I had my exam session going on at the same time. Now I'm completely obsessed and addicted and whatnot. You can call me a gleek if you want. I know it might not be a show with great quality storylines, but I like most of the characters (unlike for example in Lost where I couldn't find one person I'd like) and the music is just outstanding. For me this show is a great entertainment, even if perhaps not great television.

I had some problems with voting Glee over Grey's, cause some seasons ago I was almost equally obsessed with Grey's, but since they got rid of Izzie and George the show just isn't the same anymore. And all the baby drama is getting tiring already.  And I miss those twisted crazy medical cases they don't have there anymore. I still like some characters and some storylines, but IMO the show should be killed off already.

I didn't vote in the first poll, as I watch neither. Wanted to give Fringe a shot, but the old guy was annoying the hell outta me.

  21. Modern Family is the only show that gets my vote today...Love JJ and the concept of Fringe, but can't stand the cast. As for Grey's and Glee, I'd rather gag.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Glee and Fringe rooooooock !!! =D

    ReplyDelete
  23. Pretty easy group this time - I don't think it will cause that much trouble. The shows all seem to have very different fandoms.

Only recently got into it but I am totally hooked on Fringe so I had to vote that one - Modern Family always kind of annoyed me so there wasn't really much competition anyway.

And then Glee of course, hate on it all you want (and I have been known too) but it keeps me coming back for more every week - also severely dislike Greys so was always going to vote against it. I'm super excited to see what happens in Glee now they have some estrogyn in the writers room.

  24. Easiest day yet for me. Fringe is one of my favourite TV shows ever, and I would vote for almost anything over Grey's Anatomy.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I've only seen Fringe and Modern Family. Voted for the latter. Though I do think Fringe is probably the better show in terms of writing and intrigue, I don't get nearly as much enjoyment out of it as I do MF any more.

  26. I remember when I watched my first and only Glee episode. Only heard a lot of buzz about it and thought it might be worth checking out and had to stop half way through that episode. It just stands against everything I do and believe in musically.
Love it when Community makes fun of Glee, especially in Paradigms of Human Memory.

  27. i know that Grey's has changed since they took out Izzie and George and brought the baby issues but still vote for it just because the show it used to be. think back to the beginning and remember the love it brought to you. if that isn't enough i don't know what is. i know i'll.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I find Modern Family hilarious and Fringe is great TV but i went with Fringe...No way in hell I was going to vote for Glee has enough of that show after i watched the first few episodes, Greys is still my favorite show on TV

hmm...i liked Greys too. read this post букмекеры   pls, i think you will like it.

  30.  I should really sleep, but instead I just keep refreshing this page to see who is winning the second poll. Yeah, my life is not that exciting really...

    ReplyDelete
  31. Fringe x Modern Family is so unfair! Love both, but obviously I voted for Fringe :)

    ReplyDelete
  32. same. I didn't like it either. exept for the final maybe.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Wow - talk about a tale of two contests.  One will undoubtedly be a blow-out due to the overwhelming Fringe love here.  Who knew the second would be so close right now?  6 votes separate them right now. Too bad I don't watch either show although I did see the first season of Glee.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I vote for Grey just to get to 50-50 since I don't watch any of them^^;

    ReplyDelete
  35. Hey, you're messing up my bracket with that vote.  :-P

    ReplyDelete
  36. :P Not one 1 vote on 1000 that will change much

    ReplyDelete
  37. Biggest mistake was to keep Glee in the finals. My bracket is officially ruined.

    ReplyDelete
  38. So close between Grey's and Glee

    ReplyDelete
  39. At this moment Glee ahead by just 5 votes. wow, it's so close. I hope Glee wins, only to keep my bracket from messing up anymore.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Fringe is a given.
I love both Glee & Grey's, but Glee is my favorite show, and I want to vote it now because I probably won't next year due to the horrible writing. :(

    ReplyDelete
  41. Modern Family... altho I watch Fringe too but some plot holes in season 1 still bug me. I'm not the biggest Glee fan but I can't watch Grey's pass the 3rd episode, so Glee.
But Supernatural will probably win the whole contest anyway.

    ReplyDelete
  42. One vote seperating Glee and Grey's? Wow.

    ReplyDelete
  43. and now it's two. please be victorious Glee, just this once.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I completely agree. I put Glee all the way to the end and now realise that putting it as losing to Fringe in the second round was the dumbest idea ever!

    ReplyDelete
  45. it's actually exciting to follow the Glee/Grey's matchup. How much time is left until the polls close?

    ReplyDelete
  46. For future reference that 'old guy' is John Noble. He's a pretty fantastic actor. I don't mean to be one of 'those' fans. But he is pretty amazing. (He was also in Lord of the Rings).

  48. TV shows are really fun to watch. It provides pleasure and excitement for everyone. Moreover, TV shows are more exciting in case producers create contests for viewers. With this in mind, the best place to find TV contests is to look for websites such as http://www.socialots.co.uk/ .
