I'm not around to post the next round this afternoon, so once again there's going to be a slight overlap between yesterdays polls and todays... Today is a return to the current shows side of the competition, with two shows I know very little about, Community and White Collar squaring up for a place against (potentially) one of the competition favourites in round two. That competition favourite is of course last years runner up The Vampire Diaries, but before that happens they have a very difficult contest against critically acclaimed show Breaking Bad. At such an early stage any show is vulnerable and so it will be interesting to see how strong a battle the two shows have...
The rules for, for anyone new to the competition is very simple. There will be new sets of shows against each other every day in a new set of polls... simply vote for your favourite and the show with the most votes will win that days poll and head into the next round.
Don't forget to spread the word, and tweet out the competition to friends as well as facebook liking the post...

ReplyDeleteFirst Community will be most likely eliminated because White Collar seems to have quite a fanbase around here. I never watched White Collar, so I can't say anything about that show, but Community is one of the best comedies around these days and together with Parks & Recs one of the few really great comedies that are not on cable. Don't think it stands a chance.
And in the second poll we have one of the best shows ever with Breaking Bad which will be crushed by The Vampire Diaries. I hope TVD get this the wrong way, but it pains me to see that a show that is so much better in terms of writing and acting doesn't stand a chance at all.
I voted for Community (I liked White Collar, but I stopped watching at some point) and Breaking Bad (I love The Vampire Diaries too, ma BB has the best acting and cinematography).

ReplyDeleteLet's just say Community is streets ahead, if you catch my drift.
I watch many sitcoms and that is one of the very best currently on the air on both networks and cable in my opinion, and certainly the most innovative. This smart, creative sitcom could be the proud son (yeah, Community is a guy) of Arrested Development. It struck me as soon as I had finished watching the pilot and it has proven true ever since, it's the same kind of humor. I'm a big, big fan.
And Breaking Bad is the best drama currently in production. I'm a huge fan as well (hence the avatar).
Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul are exceptionnal, Vince Galligan is a genius, the directing/photography are simply amazing and give a unique tone to the show. I often have goosebumps watching Breaking Bad. The plot of this show is just compelling, and the way it evolves is simply perfect. A true masterpiece, and I can't say that about of lot of dramas airing on TV nowadays. As much as I like The Vampire Diaries (it is surprisingly kind of pleasant to watch), it is far inferior to Breaking Bad.
Unfortunately, I'm almost certain that Community and Breaking Bad won't make it to the next round. After Dexter, Alias, Arrested Development, Scrubs, TBBT and True Blood, another 2 great shows are going down in the 1st round.
Out of all four,Vampire Diaries is the only one I watch and I quite enjoy it,so it gets my vote!

The Vampire Diaries is by far one of the best shows on network television right now, so that gets my vote.
ReplyDeleteI voted white collar and Breaking Bad. I don't watch breaking bad very much but i know it's better then the soapy teen drama that just happens to have vampires in it. It's sad if it goes to the next round.

ReplyDeleteIts sad to see how many people think that "The Vampire Diaries" is just another sad teen drama or is "Twilight." Yes, the show is only on, because there is a surge in the popularity of vampires. However, those who actually know anything about vampire or werewolf lore, appreciate the show, because it is spot on. Even more so than Anne Rice in her heyday. The show is extremely well written, the acting is superb given that it is the CW, and it deserves the accolades it recieves.
ReplyDeleteWhen it comes down to it a show can be great, but have awful or corny advertisitng, and that's where most judgement comes from. If TVD was on ABC or Showtime, people would be like "The show is far more superior to 'said drama'."

ReplyDeletei agree with u, i love vampire diaries and breaking bad, they have two different flavours but if i had to choose, i choose breaking bad, but there r alot of teenage fans that never watched or didnt understand the its themes.
ReplyDeleteYeah, it's John Shiban. I came across this fact when I read that he was developing a possible pilot for AMC called The Voyage. He was also involved in The X-Files, Supernatural and the latest Star Trek spin-off, quite an interesting résumé.
