Hey Guys,
The draw has been made, the route for every show to reach the final uncovered. Can Supernatural make it two in a row? Can LOST restore the DarkUFO glory days? Or can a different show push past the big shows of the websites history to triumph over the 63 others it must face.
The Competition is about to begin...
But before we get it started, this is YOUR opportunity to predict exactly who will win every round of the competition. The winner will receive a prize in the shape of an Amazon Voucher which will be able to get you your favourite TV show on DVD. And it's so simple to do...
Follow the instructions below that I created for the Movie Character competition a few months ago to enter the game and predict exactly who will win each battle all the way to the final. It's simple, fun and gives you an added incentive to really get into the competition.

Of course, the key advice I can give you is do NOT predict who you want to win, but rather predict who you think WILL win!
A reminder on how the draw has been done is that in the main draw for the competition, the 32 'finished shows' cannot meet the 32 'current shows' until the third round stage.
This has been done to try to create a spread of shows across the board and to give shows whose fan-bases have spread out and 'moved on' since their show aired a chance to show their true potential.
The only rule for the prediction side of competition is that you have until Sunday June 12th to get in your entries... the competition starts on Monday 13th June.
So get predicting...
How To Join The Game
1. Head to http://www.dawgsled.com/darkufo/login.asp
2. On the Dawgsled Homepage, Click 'Create an Account.'
3. Fill in your account information and click 'Create My Account.'
4. Your account is created, wait for your email confirmation from dawgsled. In the meantime click 'Click Here' to return to the login page.
5. Once you get the email, take your password and fill it into the login page. Click 'sign in.'
6. Welcome to the Dawgsled Home Page. Click on '2011 SpoilerTV Show Cup.'
7. Welcome to the Competition Homepage. Click the Large Text saying 'Join This Contest.'
8. You have now joined the Competition, and you need to fill out the Prediction bracket. Do do this you must click on the now 'red' button to the left hand side saying 'Bracket Manager.'
9. You are now on the Bracket Manager. Simple from here click on the red 'Fill Out Bracket' link to take you to the prediction bracket.
10. This is the fun part, simply click on the person you think (not want, it's a prediction game!) will win and they will move forward into the next round.
11. Fill in all the results right the way through to the final round. In case of a tie, we ask you to enter what percentage you think both finalist will get in order to give us a clear winner.
12. Click 'Submit' and you are ready for the competition, confirmed by seeing a 1 appear next to your name in the table. All that's left to do now, is get your friends to join in and let the battle commence on June 13th.

ReplyDeleteIt's gonna be tough to stop Supernatural, The Vampire Diaries, LOST & Fringe from reaching the latter stages of the competition in my opinion...
Wow, some very tough matches there. Supernatural is my pick to win although after seeing Glee perform well in the Romance polls it might be a dark horse.

Arrested Development vs 24 on the first round : I picked those two as finished shows, damn it, it's tough from the very beginning !
My final four choices are Supernatural,Vampire Diaries,Glee and Bones even though i don't want any of these shows to win...(i wish Lost or Fringe would win)

ReplyDeleteI had the same problem. Will another year without Lost make people more or less nostalgic about it. At least to the point where they would vote. I'm giving Lost a slight edge here because people were so ticked last year that it well lost.
ReplyDeleteI've got Fringe vs. Veronica Mars in one round and I hope it happens. I'm thinking you'll still vote VM, right? I also want a Bones vs Angel fight of the dueling Boreanaz's but I doubt that one will happen. Would be fun though.
I am having utmost difficulty with that round. I feel like Gilmore Girls could take that spot for VMars. Of course from my point of view, VM should be in the final four at the very least.
ReplyDeleteI feel like either TVD fandom is going to be huge this year, or there will be a revolt for how huge it got last year. I feel the same with Supernatural. I feel like all the choices I make are just WRONG but they are the closest I have based on the past.
I also feel like Fringe will be a bigger contender this year. I won't be surprised if it is eliminated earlier than I expect but I also won't be surprised if it completely wins...It's either/or...like when Buffy lost in the first round to The Mentalist last year. (Srsly, WTF?)
I've learned that some fanbases are just more active here, while other fanbases, which may or may not be bigger (*cough* Joss Whedon don't get no respect here?) seem to be dwarfed by the main fandoms of this site...
Bracket completed, had to kick out most of my fav shows very early, but I'm realistic enough to know that they aren't very popular here.

I was bored and now I did it as if it was only my choice... and I'm stucked in the 4 last shows... first I have Castle vs. TBBT and ER vs. Firefly. mmmmm Castle would be my choice in the first, but I can't choose between ER and Firefly! ER was my first addiction (it still is) but Firefly is so damn great (and it has Nathan Fillion! LOL) and I know either ER and Firefly beats Castle... but I don't know which one to choose!! :S lol I don't know what would I do if this happens when poll starts! XDDDDDD

Yes I had the same problem. But most of the romance voters are simply shippers so I don't expect such high numbers for the show itself.

I have Fringe in the finals. It is extremely popular on this site.
ReplyDeleteSupernatural is the show I connect more with and am most interested in seeing what happens next. For me that makes it the best. However, I'm hoping Adam will change the title to Favorite Show instead of Best Show so we can avoid all the arguments over what best means and how in this instance best always means favorite.
ReplyDeleteI'd say Supernatural will have it rough again just like last year when most votes came in pretty close (until the final). There will be more backlash at the beginning of the contest instead of just at the end this time. Fringe I predict in the finals and I wouldn't surprise me if it won either. As for Buffy, I stand by my belief that few people knew about the contest at the beginning and that's why it was knocked off in the first round. Now that we know, Buffy fans should represent more heavily. Or at least that's my theory.

I think section 4 is the weakest of them too. Just wish my favorite shows were there. Well, Cold Case is but even I know that it's not going to win. (sigh) It's such a great show.

Almost the same, but I kicked out Lost vs. Vampire Diaries, one of the many painful decisions I had to make. And choosing Supernatural as winner was almost a no brainer for me considering its rabid fanbase here.
ReplyDeleteI'm always surprised to see Gossip Girl being one of the most followed shows here, but apparently it's a very quiet fanbase. And I don't know what's going on in the forums, but there aren't actually that many people discussing GoT here, but it often adds up to interesting and long conversations/discussions.

ReplyDeleteIt's so hard - I really want to vote for the stuff that I love... but I had to try and think what has the most active fanbase. Luckily for me this means that Supernatural is going to win - those fan are crazy but the get stuff done. I can say that because I am one of them and mean it with love, they can vote. I ended up putting Glee against them because well they may be new but they seem to mobilize well. But really it could be anyone, you never know who is gonna fight the hardest. So exciting tho.
