Today's Question comes from Ellie who asks
"What was the biggest season finale shocker for this year?"
Wow, there were so good finales that I enjoyed this year. I think the biggest shockers that surprised me we House (driving into the house), V (Diana getting killed) and The Event (a 2nd planet appearing). Also worth a mention was the excellent Season Finale of Fringe.
I'm a huge spoiler fan but I had no idea on any of those endings.
If I had to pick just 1 it would have to be The Event, I really didn't see that coming.
So what about you? What were some of the biggest finale shockers this year. Vote in the poll (Max of 2 Votes) and let us know in the comments some of your most shocking moments from this years season Finales

Hawaii Five-0, although I loved Supernatural and Criminal Minds, H50 was brilliant :D
ReplyDeleteFringe hands down, they made you focus so much on everything that was going on that you don't see coming that ending
ReplyDeleteFringe and Castle for sure. I don't know how anyone was surprised by Bones or Supernatural.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely no question... FRINGE.
ReplyDeletePeter never existed. #@%$%&^TG Excuse me?
Absolutely no question... FRINGE.
It wouldn't surprise me if this question was asked in a few weeks if The Killing or Game of Thrones made the list and ranked much higher.
ReplyDeleteI still have no real clue who the killer is on The Killing and Game of Thrones final episodes will shock every non-reader.
I'll go with Castle, as I haven't seen the mentalist yet, a friend of mine said it was really shocking! :O and yeah, Fringe was a shocking one too!! :OOOO
ReplyDeleteI agree about GoT... be prepared, non-readers!!! :/
ReplyDeleteI feel like Game of Thrones should be posting warnings. "CAUTION: Do not have any throwable items in your viewing vicinity while watching this episode of Game of Thrones. Seriously, put that remote in another room."
ReplyDeleteHBO should provide fluffy sponge Lemoncakes for people to throw at their TVs! Mmmm lemoncakes.
ReplyDeleteFringe...all the way. There was so much going in in the last 2 episodes ...it was just insane, EPIC & AWESOME!!! I dd not see the final reveal coming! Only on Fringe (*spoiler alert ) can you kill off 2 of the 3 leads .....and have fans rabid for more.
ReplyDeleteSupernatural and The Mentalist. Both left me O.o!
ReplyDeleteBeckett getting shot on Castle was a shock. H5-0 as well.
ReplyDeleteI liked The Mentalist and Caste, but that was not really a shocker, thought something like that would happen. But I did not see the end of H50 coming, that was SO great! Best finale of the the season!
ReplyDeleteHah, I'd love a little plush Direwolf to chuck at my TV during GoT. Someone get HBO on this asap.
ReplyDeleteThe Event, The Mentalist, Criminal Minds, Castle, Bones and even V
ReplyDeleteBones for me. We knew Emily was pregnant, but she still lied very well about them not writing it in.
ReplyDeleteCastle, too. Was not expecting Kate to get shot or for Castle to tell her he loved her!
Supernatural's was also surprising. Was not expect that from Cas!
I never take the word of anyone who works on Bones. They've lied for years. Good showrunners and the cast know how to be vague and subtle without lying.
ReplyDeleteNo doubt: The Mentalist.
ReplyDeleteThanks for putting the poll ;)
Since I had to choose, I picked V over The Event. I did not expect Diana to die or Tyler to be chomped on by FauxLisa.
ReplyDeleteI was stunned when Christina, in The Event's finale, looked up at the planet joyfully and said "Home." She truly loves Elias, and this might mean his demise.
Fringe was spoiled into the ground, so I was prepared for anything, not really shocked.
On The Good Wife, Will's decision to take one hour with Alicia, because they really will have to hold back for a while after that, and spend $7,800 on a hotel room and take a glorious elevator ride.
The Annie/Abed kiss on Community, and Pierce leaving the group.
I was most shocked on T
he Event was Christina
Fringe of course!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat is more shocking to discover that Peter has never existed?!
Yes, The SF of The Mentalist was Amazing!
ReplyDeleteEven though it wasn't a action shocker, my favorite finale was The Big Bang Theory. I almost fell off my couch I was laughing so hard. No other show had such a big impact. Bones is a firm second though, Next season will be fun.
ReplyDeletei never saw the raj penny hook up happening. weird that the first thing that comes to mind when asked of the biggest shock was from a comedy!
ReplyDeleteBones, even though Emily is pregnant in real life, i was DEF not expecting Brennan to be pregnant too... i was like extra shocked! lol
ReplyDeleteabsolutely The Mentalist, Castle and Fringe!! ;D
ReplyDeleteIt has to be The Mentalist. I NEVER saw that coming. And I should say Castle and The Big Bang Theory, though I haven't watched the episodes, but just by reading what happened I was shocked.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely Fringe and Bones for me.
ReplyDeleteI didn't see it coming. It wasn't even a wild guess. I was like WHOA WHAT'S JUST HAPPENED.
Fringe and V were awesome, but where the hell is Chuck? [Spoiler] becoming the [Spoiler]? Come on!
ReplyDeleteThe vampire diaries and nikita =O I liked Fringe finale but I thought that came out of nowhere and made no sense .-.
ReplyDeleteI never thought I would see the day when Cas would turn into an evil angel and treat Sam and Dean so badly! Now, that's a shocker!
ReplyDeleteVote for Hawaii Five-O with Supernatural close second.
ReplyDeleteWow! Someone loves their "Enter" button! Ha! XD
ReplyDeleteFor me it was Castle and NCIS Los Angeles
ReplyDeletelikely should have chosen CSI because it took the morals of all the CSIs for the past 11 seasons and threw them out the window. And I hated it. But I went with bones.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to have to go with Supernatural :-) MegaloCas is going to be awesomely bad :-D
ReplyDeleteFRINGE WAS DEFINITELY WTF?? FINALE I'M STILL WONDERING ABOUT IT , BTW WHERE IS PETER? ANY NEWS ABOUT HIM ? WHO'S PETER?
ReplyDeleteTaking an eraser to Peter Bishop's existence was definitely the topper. It also frustrated the hell out of me.
ReplyDeleteBones and Hawaii five-0. The Booth and Bones finally getting together wasn't the shocker the pregnancy was. There were no spoilers out there and i honestly didn't think they would do that.
ReplyDeleteA little hard to choose...wait...it's not hard....Supernatural gets my vote!
ReplyDeleteI'm going to disagree here...
ReplyDeleteI think the "non-existence" of Peter had been set up throughout this season. We had the observers comments about Walter now being able to let Peter go. We had the episode in which Walter's idol sees his long dead son who comes back to tell his father that he needed to help Walter. (Which foreshadows basically the same thing that Peter does on the last episode.) We've also seen Peter's determination to save both worlds throughout this season. I think there were little clues dropped, but they all add up to Peter choosing to die to save both worlds.
I was surprised by the 3 Sams. Not so much about Castiel.
ReplyDeleteHm...I liked TVD's finale, the Delena stuff and Stefan going bad.Nikita's was also cool, with Alex now hunting her.House's was weird, the whole breaking into Cuddy's house with a car and almost killing someone.HIMYM's finale was also pretty shocking,Lily pregnant,Barney getting married,Ted meeting the mom in his wedding.Well,I think May was a good month.
ReplyDeleteCastle and The good wife in the last no only the final episode but the last three!!! Also fringe was geat
ReplyDeletePeter who?
ReplyDelete;)
I was NOT surprised by the 3 Sams, but my jaw dropped when Cas said those damning words at the end.
ReplyDeleteH5-0!!!
ReplyDeleteI voted for Fringe because Fringe is amazing and the season finale was epic! ..but close second would have to be Castle! I was freaking out when she got shot. Very unexpected.
ReplyDeleteGossip Girl for sure! I can't wait for it to return.
ReplyDeleteIt was definitely scary! I was pounding on my computer yelling "Stop" as it ran away down the page. I couldn't stop it or edit after it happened. Well, this one I was able to. Rebooted and I think that did the trick . Well, we'll see. It's bound to be a better soluteion than yelling. Computers are our masters.
ReplyDeleteit was a "shocker" how bad the House finale was... :(
ReplyDeleteWithout a doubt, my two picks are House and Fringe. Both last-moments in those finales led to the same reaction for me, which was sitting there with mouth wide-open in disbelief. Very much cliffhangers, but of course I would expect nothing less from those two amazing shows. The Event's ending I kind of saw coming so it didn't really shock me all that much.
ReplyDeleteI don't think H50 is that much shocking, cos' the same thing happens before (the xfiles anyone?) oh well.
ReplyDeleteAs for Fringe, that is what you can expect from things related to parellel worlds. at least every film I have watched using the same theory come to this kind of conclusion (hell, in one of them, none of the main characters exist AT ALL), but that's why sci-fi is so good. you can expect the expected things happen in an unexpected way LOL
I don't see why Bones ending is shocking. not at all. you have Emily pregnant, B&B need to get together, everything is here. it would be extremely stupid NOT to write the finale that way. Moreover, the exact same thing happened in the Xfiles before (season 7 and 8 anyone?). However, the difference is that Chris Carter clearly knew how to handle things better.
Castle is not that shocking either. I can totally see the Capt. part, just don't expect Kate got shot. nuh uh, not at all. But they handle it pretty well, and that is what matters.
for me, the most shocking was The Event... We all knew that the aliens will arrive in billions... But instead, a whole planet arrived in our solar system and we were hinted once again, after clearing suspicion temporarily, that the presidents wife could be a sleeper. The planet cliff-hanger could have huge repercussions... I am no scientist, but I am sure that something like that can't just happen and everything can go on as normal... There has to be some effect, like changes in gravitational pull, orbit of other planets.... etc., and we should also consider if their planet is stationary or moves and if it does, does it follow earth in its revolution or follow a different path? Is there risk of collision? I could think of ten questions right off the bat...
ReplyDeleteGo FRIIINGE! Another great show. Nearly worthy of Lost standards.
ReplyDeleteFRINGE:D
ReplyDeleteI voted for the vampire diaries! There was the Delena kiss, Stefan turning bad and that huge shocker at the end with jeremy being able to see his dead vampire girlfriends Anna & Vicky!!
ReplyDeletedefinitely not glee.
ReplyDeleteTotally Fringe
ReplyDeleteWow, I agree completely with the results of an online poll. Wonders never cease. Castle's finale was brilliant, but no one can deny Fringe had the most epic, game changing, mind bending ending from nowhere.
ReplyDeleteSupernatural by far. I was expecting Castiel , Lisa, and maybe Bobby to die. I never thought Balthazar was going to. I knew Sam would have to face what happened in Hello but not how, The shocker was Cas declaring he was God Not in my wildest dreams did I expect that one.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately I don't watch a lot of TV as I usually find it to be a waste of time so the only finale I watched was Supernatural which I'm obsessed with. And boy wasn't the finale a hell of a shocker. Cas is God now? Who'd have guessed that was coming. But the shockers really played out all this season, from Sam returning without his soul, to Crowley still being alive, to Cas working with Crowley and his betrayal of the Winchesters. Its been a hell of a season 6 and I can't wait for season 7.
ReplyDeleteFringe and Peter disappearing
ReplyDeleteVampire diaries had a great shocker with Jeremy at the end. Fringe and Supernatural were also big shocks for me.
ReplyDeleteCome on now, the last scene of Game of Thrones when home girl survived the bonfire she set for herself and her dead husband whom she killed and then laid to rest with the dragon eggs she was gifted? only to awaken the next morning stark naked with three live dragons draped over her body! Ahhhhh! that was a shocker! who knew if she cooked the damn million year old eggs they would hitch. I knew she would die in the fire cause she had already proved she was immune to fire, being descended from dragons that is. LOL!! may oh may that was one hell of a good ending. And then everyone who fell asleep watching her cook herself, her dead husband and dragon eggs to death, awake to learn that apparently dragons do exist.
ReplyDeletePeter is in the light, he's drifting in another dimension. The light is the connection to Peter, Olivia, and Peters Father. Remember the Observers warned Peters (Fake father) or the man who kidnapped him that he would lose Peter because he had altered time. So, somehow this light will be their clue back to each other, and the observers and Peters right hand (home girl) will play a hand in his return. I'm basing my theories off of a poster I saw-that had something to do with light, time, and dimensions. a Third dimension I believe.
ReplyDeleteFringe had a shocking ending too, but not as shocking for me in that Nobles character had already been warned for like...EVER! by the observers, that something was going to happen to Peter.
ReplyDeleteFringe and Bones! My first thought was Peter is gone,it was so quite you could here a pin drop, but i knew they couldn't possibly leave it like that.
ReplyDeleteBones on the other hand shocked me in the last 30 seconds when she told Booth she was pregnant....
