Lucy Punch has been tapped as the female lead in the FX drama pilot Powers. Based on the graphic novel by Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming, the project, written by Charles H. Eglee and to be directed by Michael Dinner, is a police procedural set in a world where superpowers are relatively common. It centers on two detectives, Christian Walker and Deena Pilgrim (Punch), in a Homicide department that deals with cases involving "powers" (people with superpowers).

i don't like this, i thought Katee Sackhoff was gonna play Deena now i lost interest in this show,,,sorry
ReplyDeleteI'm glad Katee Sackhoff isn't involved with this. The casting of Lucy Punch actually makes me much more interested now. Before this, I had my doubts that I would even give this a shot.
ReplyDeleteLucy was fun on The Class, but that also means absolutely nothing to me honestly.
ReplyDeleteI will watch Powers and decide if I like it enough to keep watching after actually viewing the series... no matter who is cast or recast.
Really doesn't affect my opinion of the series at all honestly...Katee Sackhoff isn't necessarily the greatest actress even though I like her and I wasn't going to watch the series for her alone anyway. The series premise has not changed and I still find it intriguing.
Hmm.. Again, I'll give it a chance, but that must be the most overdone topic in television history. Just in recent years, we've had "Heroes" and "No Ordinary Families", now we're going to have "Touch" and "Alphas", AND "Powers"? "Fringe" also played around with this idea. While every show takes a different aspect of it, it starts to get.. Well, boring.
ReplyDeleteTwo words. Katee and Sackhoff. That's just how I see it.
ReplyDeleteIt has been clear for months that Sackhoff won't be joining Powers, so there's no surprise here. Can't say anything about Punch, but planning to watch the show anyway.
ReplyDeleteIt will be on cable, so it should at least be a lot darker.
ReplyDeleteCasting Katee Sackhoff would be boring people, it would be like Starbuck 2.0. I haven't seen Lucy Punch in anything so no comment on that.
