Aaaaahhh! We have to wait how long now for a new show? While it left us hanging, that was a great way to end the season! As a side note, I really didn't want Holder to be a bad guy :(
Couldn't the gas tank be filled with water? Can't say if it would be watertight after being dumped in a lake, but the miles display was a more reliable proof. Wouldn't it be highly probable that Holder's staged photos would be proven forged in a trial? Seems to me like Holder is on the current mayor's payroll, because this evidence is just enough to take Richmond out of the election race. But on the other hand Holder committed a crime himself which can be easily traced back to him. So there are some holes in the story I'm not too happy about. I'm also not sure how you can do another 13 episode season on this case. I'm sure a lot of people watch it mainly for the murder mystery and having to watch another season until we find out who did it might frustrate a lot of viewers.
I thought it would be like Damages, wrap up the main case but with loose ends and recurring characters. Now I have no idea. Thankfully the show gets another season to smooth this finale out.
I thought so too. Apparently there will be a new case in season 2, but no idea when it will start and if the cases will overlap.
Currently I'm a unhappy with the finale. Sure it left you with the wish for more since it was an open ending with a cliffhanger, but in addition to the points I mentioned before I'm a annoyed by the fact that Holder turned out to be a bad guy. He was one of the best characters, had good character development over the season and now this?
I do not think that Holder is on teh dark side. He has always been working deeply under cover. So, looks like he's investigating Adams or Drexler under cover. I remember how he was glad to hear that one prostitute said he was beat her. He hoped Drexler could be Orpheus, the murderer. So, Now he has to earn someone's trust to catch Drexler (or Adams). I am sure he is not on the dark side. Writers fool us all the time. It is realy out of character for Holder to be on the dark side. So, let's wait and see. When 2nd season will air?
Put me in the crowd that hated the finale. I wasnt expecting everything to be solved, but I wanted the Rosie Larson case to be solved, so when season 2 started we could start anew. For me this season was like a never ending game of "Who stole the cookie from the cookie jar", we have not learned anything new about the case since the first 2 episodes. Then we have the boring political storyline, the grieving parents which was very realistic IMO, but made for horrible tv, and a dead girl who I couldnt care less about (and whose name i sometimes forget). Then we had Linden who was at times a boring character and wasnt always good at her job, and Holder who was probably the best character on the show which they ruined in the finale!
I probably wont be back next season unless there is nothing on tv when it comes back, and even then the finale might of been the final nail in the coffin for me.
I was under the same impression by the way they promoted and advertised the series before it began. This was a big breach of the audience's trust as far as I'm concerned.
formula or no, I think the writers should have rewarded the viewers loyalty to the show by revealing the killer in the end...the season finale was more like a mid-season finale. I get the whole thing about trying to move away from the formula where at the end you an episode/season, you get all the answers. But I watched the show waiting to know who the killer was and as much as I loved everything they did on the show, the writing, the performances and everything, I was disappointed with the way it ended, quite honestly. They say another case with emerge in season 2 and this case will not engulf another season; I am definitely gonna watch the next season but I am disappointed about it, if that makes sense.
Honestly, for me, they should have wrapped the case this season. I don't mind loose ends, but the way the thing ended rubbed me the wrong way. It felt more a gimmick cliff hanger than Drama... with that said, i'll be back for more season 2!
I was under the impression that each season would be one case. So while everything points toward Richmond, the forged toll light camera pictures from Holder open up the possibility for anyone else to be the killer. That was bit of a let down for me. The episode itself was interesting and well done, but I expected a definitive answer to who killed Rosie Larsen.
I always felt something was sketchy about Holder. I chalked it up to his addiction issues and his time spent in the streets undercover... but I kept wondering if it was more. I guess he could be trying to get the "bad guy" by conjuring evidence.... or he could be swinging the case elsewhere from someone he is working for. Again, interesting, but doesn't conclude this season.
Overall a great season, but a let down of a finale for me.
Woa... I didn't expect that twist. Though I found the cliffhanger great, I think they shouldn't have ended the season without really telling us who the killer was. I mean, having to wait a year to know who is the bad guy behind it is just a way to extend something that maybe already was long enough as is. I'm totally looking forward for season 2, but I have mixed feeling about waiting so long for this storyline to unravel rather than getting a different mystery next season.
And Holder being on the dark side seemed out of character after showing us his character development week after week tbh.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

Having mixed feelings about this episode.

ReplyDeleteMost likely it'll air next year around the same time it did this year.
