According to the Official Gossip Girl Writer's Twitter:

"Two of the Gossip Girl characters will decide to stay in Los Angeles at the end of episode 501."

    no no there not leaving the show nor or they writing the characters off the show u guys are misreading this post Two characters will be staying in Los Angeles NOT Leaving the show the producers stated that the show wouldn't just take place in New York next season and i guess this is apart of what they mean that Two characters will Move to Los Angeles and stay there and that there scenes will be In LA instead of New York and i think it will be Chuck & Nate

    Nah, I think it will be Serena and one of the boys. She'll want to stick around for the movie thing and cute Ethan Peck. The question is, who stays behind with her - Nate or Chuck? I want to say Chuck, because the emotional resonance of Nate in NY when Dan's shit hits the fan will be more satisfying (how the book impacts their bromance, etc), plus I think Chuck might just feel like he needs that distance more with Blair and Louis front and center back home. Also, Chuck has more freedom to relocate - isn't Nate allegedly still in college, insofar as these kids actually attend?

    Not that organic characterization is always a primary concern with GG, mind you, but Serena and Chuck just makes more sense to me in LA from a story perspective. Plus, it'll be nice to see Chuck's particular brand of gross collide with LA's special kind of sleaze, yeah? Could be fun!

     Oh, that's a given - they'll all be back in November just in time for Blair's wedding to get called off and Dan's book to Gossip Girl everyone. Hehe.

    I'm almost sure it's Serena and Nate. Or maybe Chuck, because he don't fell ready to go back to NY with Blair's wedding approaching. But i hope it's Nate, so maybe he can get a decent storyline.

    If it's Serena and Nate, i think they'll come back for Blair's wedding. If it's Chuck, maybe he'll come back because he'll discover Blair is pregnant ? And he have the Brooklyn Hotel/Charles Place storyline, so...

    I think it'll be Serena and Charlie//Ivy. The GGWriters said no one had guessed it and most people where guessing Serena/ Nate and a few were guessing Serena/Chuck.
    I bet Serena stays in CA for work and Ivy/Charlie stays to get close to the Rhodes family like Cece.

    Nate and Chuck will return to the UES and be around Blair and Dan.  Blair and all the boys.  ;)

    GG CHARACTERS!!!!

    So ANYONE could be staying in LA.... 
    Eric? Serena?Dan? Rufus? Lily? Charlie? Nate? Dan? and so on
    but I don't think that Chuck will be the one staying in LA.... plus even if any of those big characters stay in LA it won't be for too long....
    The moment they find out Blair is pregnant...EVERYONE will be at Blair's apartment.  

    But in my opinion... it will be Serena and Dan....
    but we will see

    I really don't think you'd have to worry about a Chuck/Serena fling - they do very well with their step-sibling vibe, and I think Serena will be busy with the very adorable Ethan Peck.

    Anyway, LA is just full of gross - how fun would it be to see Chuck sauntering about amidst all that? He's no good angst ridden, but Chuck is hilarious when he's reveling in the sleaze. Come on, admit it - he'd be entertaining on the west coast. Do you really want to see him flutter about pretending to be a businessman again all year - did you really enjoy all that Empire tomfoolery?

    It's Dan and Serena. Dan ends up there for something to do with his book becoming a movie and S stays behind because the studio she's working for wants the rights to his book so they can turn it into a movie.
