I'll never understand what's the thing with spoiler. >.<
But why label it spoiler if it's clearly the promo of *next episode*, that usually you see when you just watched the latest!!? If you haven't seen anything and someone purposely watches a preview/promo of next episode, I think s/he wants to get spoiled.
The line is near hte end when Greatjon and other yell out.
OH I agree COMPLETELY with you personally. I just know despite it being a preview for next week and being on a spoiler site... some people hate being spoiled oddly enough. I do think seeing that scene for the first time would have had more impact next week though.
I have to agree. I think it should be implied that a promo for the next week's episode would have actual scenes from next week's episode in it ... thus being "spoilery."
King of the north? that scene sounded spoilery but whatever ;) I'm as excited as always. I'm not so excited at the prospect of waiting an entire year for the next season...
Is there any more battles left in the remaining part of the first book? I'm surprised they didn't show us either last night... All I want is a little bit of epic battling :P
In all honesty, in the first book you don't get ANY battles directly. They are discussed after the fact for the most part. Even the Battle of Whispering Woods when Robb captured Jaime was mostly heard from Catelyn as the battle raged not too far away from her.
The truly epic battle of the books comes next season in the second book. Well two huge battles in the next two books I guess. Even those are not blow by blow accounts for the most part. I don't think GRRM likes writing first hand battles.
Reminded me a lot of Rome, the focus of these shows isn't the actual fighting but the various plottings and conspiracies. At least it was that way with Rome and after tonight's episode I'd say the same about GoT.
Good comparison! That is kind of how GRRM treats most battles in the saga so far. There is one large scale battle in each of the next two books that is a bit more detailed (experienced rather than just witnessed or discussed after the fact) than anything in the first book. That is no guarantee it will be like that on the series I guess...
your comment is the thing which has spoiled it for me. having not read the books i thought of that as solely a pre war battle cry but your comment has now made it a spoiler so you may want to think about deleting it or rewording it so others dont have that ruined like i have
I really hope that they dont.... SPOILER WARNING! . . . . . . . . . . . . . butcher the CGI they're gonna have to use for the dragons . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . END SPOILERS
That has been my major question about the series honestly. I can't recall a series that had a well done CGI of one.... I expect they will be ok for this season with such a short scene required, but then they have the hiatus to work out the details more....
But I dread the idea of some CGI that is poorly done. Let's hope HBO gets it right.... they usually do.
It is one of those series you can watch back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back episodes and when you're done you still want more!
Going to be an intense finale and I just read something that sounds like there will be more changes from the book.... so even readers should have a few surprises!
I just wrapped book 2 ... will probably take a couple of weeks off and gorge myself on some light summer reads before starting Storm of Swords - have you preordered book 5 yet?
I read a few in between and was OK with most other books. It was kind of nice to blow through a book in a day or two as opposed to the month it took me to read GoT. It's so complex, you can't read it quickly. I found myself using the appendix alot for both just to keep up with all of the characters so I'm kind of looking forward to just a quick smut novel :)
So true. As long as I changed genres I am good. I made the mistake of trying another fantasy series after reading SoIaF and it just didn't work for me. True crime and mystery seemed to go much better ....
started reading the books after I heard how highly you talk of them. Awesome!!! love them, so well written and truely great caracters. I have no time to write in here....must ...read.... :-)
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Truly irked they added the "King of the North" spoiler in it! Otherwise a fun preview.
ReplyDeleteMay want to have a minor spoiler label on this one..... dunno.
I'll never understand what's the thing with spoiler. >.<

ReplyDeleteI am going to dread the summer hiatus for sure! At least a number of series are starting now to distract me a tiny bit... maybe.
ReplyDeleteThis depresses me ... only one ep left ... le sigh :(

Isn't that Robb Stark in the sponsor advert, beatboxing in the ambulance? I think it is you know.
ReplyDeleteIt is a political drama cleverly disguised in a fantasy setting :)
ReplyDeleteIt is... I saw the advert on TV today :P

ReplyDeleteWelcome to the party .... only one ep left - don't rush it
ReplyDeleteI am so looking forward to Sunday, and also dreading it
Gah, indecision XD

I actually have to agree with Nick on this one =) I wouldn't have taken it for an important spoiler without the mentioning either.
