The BBC have confirmed a seventh season today consisting of 14 episodes with Matt Smith as The Doctor.
Whether Gillan and Darvill will return or not is still not confirmed but they've recently both signed on to other projects...

    Karen is working on the BBC 4 drama "We'll Take Manhattan" and Arthur is playing Doctor Faustus in the Globe Theatre

    I would love more Amy/Rory but yeah in the modern Who era companions don't last that long. Hopefully River will be the full time companion in S7

    Oh please no. Can we please have a new doctor already? The point of the show is to change them uch... I hope Gillian and Darvill sign back on though, they are the best part of the show right now.

    What? Matt Smith's only been here two seasons. Tennant lasted three, and Tom Baker lasted seven.
