Thanks to Katie for the heads up.
Exactly one month before CBS' Criminal Minds is scheduled to start production on its upcoming 7th season, there is still no deal for co-star Thomas Gibson. And word is that talks between the actor and CBS have stalled. That is creating an issue for the series' writers who convened at the beginning of last week to break stories and work on scripts for next season.

He'll sign. I have faith. Please don't leave, Thomas!
ReplyDeleteAw, this is terrible news. It won't be the same without him. I REALLY hope they make a deal. I'd still watch it without him though, now that Paget and AJ are back it'll lessen the blow.
ReplyDeleteuntill they bringa new guy who likes like him and that u all hate lol
ReplyDeleteHow can you have Criminal Minds without Hotch? I won't be watching if he doesn't come back.
ReplyDeleteHow cn
ReplyDeleteType your comment hthat?? It's not criminal minds without hotch, he's the best!! He better e signed on!!
ReplyDeletePlease sign Thomas!!! I won't watch it without him!!!
ReplyDeletethere was a Seaver episode this season (25 to Life) in which Hotch was taking some time off, but I'm struggling to imagine Criminal Minds w/o our team leader. Besides, he's the only current team member who knows Prentiss isn't actually dead & as far as I'm concerned, he needs to be there when they find out the truth. Especially since he's the one who assessed all of them afterwards.
ReplyDeleteActually it was a Morgan episode and it showcased just how bad this show is without Hotch at the helm. Not that Morgan was bad or anything, but the show felt off and wrong without Hotch sitting back calling the shots and one episode was bad enough, I can't imagine an entire season of that sort of disjointed feeling. Hotch anchors the show and I just can't see any other character coming off as believable in the role that he plays. We saw Morgan take the reigns temporarily in Season 5 and it was pretty bad IMO.
ReplyDeleteoh boy I hope he will sign if not PLEASE keep Rachael Nichols around
ReplyDeleteI loved Morgan as team leader and thought he did a great job, since it was forced upon him. I don't want Thomas to leave, but he has hinted that he would like more time with his family who don't live in Los Angeles, but in San Antonio.
ReplyDeleteMorgan did do a good job as unit chief, but at the expense of the character and all the things that make Morgan so appealing as a character. He became dry and boring because they eliminated all the things about Morgan that make him work so well with the show. All the teasing of Reid and the flirting with Garcia and the emotional outbursts were no longer part of who he was. Hotch has always been the stoic leader and his character traits as the Unit Chief have become a staple of the show. It would be like Reid suddenly being gone. It’d just feel wrong and ruin the show for me. The two women haven’t ever really been developed as well as Hotch, Reid and Morgan, but I thought JJ’s absence threw the show off balance. Prentiss not so much because she never really had a “function” like JJ did. I just can’t imagine this show without Hotch and I won’t be tuning in next season if they don’t bring him back.
ReplyDeleteI don't think it will affect the series at all whatsoever.
ReplyDeleteThe quality of the episodes always comes down to the quality of the unsub in the episode. Period. Good badguys = good episodes no matter who leads the team, who is on the team, or who acts as lead investigator.
That said, I hope he returns and is happy with however the new contract is worked.
yes, it was a Morgan episode, but in this particular case I was referring 2 the fact that Seaver was in it (it was her 2nd episode)
ReplyDeletewow
ReplyDeleteit will go down without him
but ill watch it anyways
This. I second every word.
ReplyDeleteAlthough the show is entitled "Criminal Minds", it's a good lot about the team and how they work together to unveil the Criminal Mind of the week. It's the classic Good/Evil match. And the Good, in this case, is the team, as a whole. It's like chemistry - mixture works with those specific ingredients. Take one, it blows. If you put some other ingredient, it's a different mix. Can be good, can be bad, but it's certainly not worth the risk. Just my two cents.
ReplyDeleteI love Morgan. If he left I'm pretty sure I'd stop watching. Not a big fan of TG.
ReplyDeleteYou're so right.
ReplyDeletei definitely hope he stays, wouldnt be the same without him. hated when the others left as well. Glad for JJ n Prentiss to come back tho
ReplyDeleteHaha is that a reference to Seaver? I'm a bit behind so I've only just watched her first episode but I like her. She's no JJ but I don't hate her. xD
ReplyDeleteThe show def needs Hotch, he cares equally about each member of his team yet you'll hardly ever (if ever) see him display any emotion and that includes smiling. Thats what i like about him!
ReplyDeleteGood point about Hotch knowing about Prentiss but then again so does JJ and she's definitely back now isn't she..
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know when Series 7 is starting in the UK??
ReplyDeleteit's ok when morgan took the lead, i like morgan. but i like hotch better. :(
ReplyDelete25 to life is one of my most likeable episodes but it really felt so strange without hotch.
