The Best TV Show Competition 2011 - Polls For Final Places

Hey Guys,

I have spent many, many hours trawling through the hundreds of votes (over 1000!) for shows from the past and shows still very much alive on our TV screens and I have the vast majority of the finalists sorted, however in both the 'current' and the 'finished' shows categories there are still a few places available for those shows which were right on the fence and with barely anything to separate them. As a result there are two polls which are to find the final four places in the 'current' shows side of the draw, and the final five places in the 'finished' shows side of the draw.

Before we do the polls though I can confirm that these shows have made it into the final competition which will be starting very soon!

Now for the two polls to determine the final places in the competition.

Good luck to the fans of these shows, and this will be open for 48 hours, after which I'll do the draw and get the prediction part of the competition started by the start of next week.

My sympathies to any shows which failed to make the cut. There's always next year :)

    Good luck to all the shows.

    I'd quite like Boardwalk Empire, MASH, Mad Men, Deadwood... all of which are great shows as well as shows such as Justified as well... it's tough but we only have 64 places up for grabs!!

    I don't watch anything in the top poll, but voted for Mad Men and Sons Of Anarchy 'cause they look like they're the best ones. In the bottom poll I voted Dollhouse (underrated and a favorite of mine) and Six Feet Under.

    OMG what a difficult decision in the first poll!! I finally chose Desperate Housewives and White Collar, but I wanted CSI:LV to be there too... :/
    and in second I chose Dead like me and Heroes... I wanted to choose Cold Case too... :/

    why is desperate housewives on the list? that is just terrible....
    too many good ones in the second poll, need i put dollhouse and dead like me, also wanted to add heroes and boston legal

    Voted White Collar and Modern Family. Most of my favorite current shows are already in the competition :D

    As for finished shows, I voted for Dead Like Me (probably one of my all-time favorite shows) and Six Feet Under. I'm sensing a theme here...

    So happy for Battlestar! The show is so underrated and unknown here in Czech republic.. I hope it will get the chance to be in the spotlight :) voted for CSI, DH, Dollhouse and M.A.S.H..

    The current show wasn't hugely difficult (voted Mad Men and Modern family, although most of the others are awesome too), but the finished shows poll was rough. Absolutely had to go with MASH, otherwise, I guess Boston Legal. If Heroes had ended with S1, then sure, but since it didn't, absolutely not. Six Feet Under, Dollhouse, and Deadwood are awesome too XD.

    I love Modern Family but 30 Rock deserves more to go on in such a competition. Same for Justified, this is an excellent show but Sons of Anarchy cannot be out before the 1st round.

    I haven't seen Deadwood and Dead Like Me yet, and FlashForward and Heroes do not qualify as good shows, so I voted for Six Feet Under and Dollhouse (underrated show).

    May the best shows win :) (and by 'the best' I mean Sons of Anarchy, Six Feet Under, Dollhouse and 30 Rock).

    IF Justified, Sons of Anarchy, Deadwood, Mad Men, MASH,  and Boston Legal do not make the first round it will be a travesty! 

    Half the current series already on the lists are shows that are fun, but in no way "great" series". Many aren't all that original, well acted or well written. Years down the road they will be forgotten by the annals of time and critics alike.

    To miss out on truly original well crafted series would be a shame!

    I am voting for Smallville, Supernatural, Castle mainly for the current shows but between the 3 smallville's the best. For finished shows its either Friends or Stargate SG-1 but I would choose stargate between the two.

    dude, these polls are kind of bogus, because certain shows have ridiculously obsessive fanbases that completely skew the results (see the shipper contest for proof).  I mean, it's all fun and games, but really - modern family and white collar over Justified and Deadwood?  Come on.....

    To be fair, it's not as though this is claiming to be an accurate representation of show quality or what show has the most viewers. When it says "Best Show," it's more referring to favorite show. Shows have 'ridiculously obsessive fanbases that completely skew the results' because they're FAVORITES. If there were far more fans of Justified on here than anything else, would it mean the poll would be bogus? No, it would mean that a lot of fans of Justified use this website, and they're going to vote for their favorite show. The same with the shipper poll. The winner was chosen because more registered users on this site enjoyed it than anything else. At least this isn't some list where it's all decided based on one person's opinion. 

    Sorry if that didn't make much sense. Your comment broke my brain a bit.
