The Walking Dead - Season 2 - Spoilers - Three New Characters
May 31, 2011
The Walking DeadAccording to some just-released casting intel, Hershel himself is a vet — as in a veterinarian, not a veteran (that I know of!) — a Wilford Brimley type, though I don’t think a mustache of legendary proportions is mandatory for auditioning actors. His daughter, Maggie, sounds like a younger version of Andrea with better horseback-riding skills. (Ginger Snaps’ Katharine Isabelle, call your agent!) Finally, there’s Otis, the middle-aged ranch foreman who’s such a sweetheart that he all but loses it when he accidentally shoots a fellow survivor.

Hershel is a veterinarian? Can't remember that this was mentioned in the comics, but it hasn't played a role in those issues I read so far so I don't know why they mention it in the casting call.
ReplyDeleteNever saw this Katharine Isabelle they mentioned here act, but i looked up some pictures of her and she looks nothing like Maggie from the comics.
I think Catherine Isabelle is on Endgame as the bartender. I like her, but since that series is likely doomed to the cancellation axe.... good for her!
ReplyDeleteI have not read the graphic novels but I wonder if "when he accidentally shoots a fellow survivor" refers to a regular, reoccurring or guest character.
ReplyDeleteWell, I could tell you, but I don't want to spoil anything.
ReplyDeleteSeems like finally writers read the comics.
ReplyDeleteIt was just an idea by the writers of the article, I doubt that she is considered for the role.
ReplyDeleteHa! I see that now.. either way she is not a personal favorite of mine so I won't be too disappointed if/when she doesn't get the role.
ReplyDeleteI love that Ausiello and his cronies continue to shill for Katherine Isabelle. I approve.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if Hershel will have as large a family on the series as he did when the (graphic novel) survivors first arrived at his farm?
ReplyDeleteHope so, zombies need food.
