NCIS, The Office and Kitchen Nightmares will air in Canada before the US next season
May 31, 2011
Cancelled Shows NCIS
NCIS will air on Canada a day earlier on Monday instead of Tuesday, Kitchen Nightmares on Wednesday and The Office on thursday but at 8 PM.

Oh, this so isn't fair! This is like when Canada aired Bones the day before we got it in the US. Plus, I have no patience to wait an extra day!
ReplyDeleteLOL. But yay Canada for getting these shows earlier!
So who says they aren't airing a week later in Canada?
ReplyDeletethey confirmed at the upfronts that it is a preair, other shows like Ringer and I Hate My Teenage Daughter will air later
ReplyDeleteYou won't be waiting an extra day... you'd still see it on tuesday nights...
ReplyDeleteNCIS is still airing it a day before us, which just seems unfair.
ReplyDeleteYou'll still get it way before we do in the UK, some shows are much closer now but you're still looking anywhere between a week and a couple of months for the shows to make it across the pond
ReplyDeleteThis is also true.
ReplyDeletesame thing in France... usually months after !(or years if it's a new show) but i don't watch anything with the french voices (hate it !! ) so it doesn't matter to me ! :D
ReplyDeleteI remember when Lost would sometimes air in Canada before the US but that was a show on a global scale (so IMO that was okay and we got spoilers beforehand). The Office (The US version) on the other hand is a very American show so it just seems wrong that it doesnt air in the US first.
ReplyDeleteHow is it any less fair then Canada getting shows a day later like NCIS was this season. Or in the case of some shows entire seasons behind.
ReplyDeleteNot happy. I willing to bet this will affect ratings for the season. Why would I watch it live on Tuesday when I can download it Monday night?
ReplyDeleteI love it. Especially since I am a Canadian.
ReplyDeletesomething happened with bones last year and had no affect on its ratings!!.... but as a canadian i am loving this news :D
ReplyDeleteGlad I live in a city that gets Canadian channels. :D
ReplyDeleteHow can they do this if they are US TV shows? Surely it would cost them a lot to air it before CBS?...
ReplyDeleteIt's like Murdoch Mysteries, we get it here in the UK way before Canada, well we did this year.
Very same thing goes on in Hungary. With Bones, we just started season 5 like a month ago -.-"
ReplyDeleteOf course I watch all of the new episodes of my fav shows online, but I like to watch it again with Hungarian voices.
With NCIS, we are at 8x12. The show just went on summer hiatus till late August or September, so, they are showing season 6 episodes now. We are usually way behind any other country...
Will this effect their ratings?
ReplyDeleteI doubt it would have much of an impact
ReplyDeleteI've stopped watching NCIS since learning about this, and so are my friends. We're all contacting CBS, as well as their commercial advertisers to inform them that we're boycotting NCIS & CBS, and will boycott any company that advertises with them, if NCIS airs new episodes in Canada before they air them in the US. If not for the US fans, there would be no high ratings, which make foreign networks want to buy licensing rights. Also, given how Canadian fans have been gloating, they'll do everything they can to spoil each new episode. It's an insult to the US fan base. If you don't like this, email CBS and get your friends and family to do the same. Not one episode of NCIS will be watched among myself and friends, even repeats until CBS informs Canada that if it wants to air NCIS on Mondays, they'll have to air them after each episode is aired in the US.
ReplyDeleteFirst I'm Canadian and I'm really happy with that news... I don't understand you... How is it unfair in anyway. Global network pay for the right to air it, as it does for a lot of other show from the US, it probably cost them extra mponey to air it on monday, but they have to make a different schedule from the US, because they air shows from different american network. And if you don't want to be spoiled, don't read the spoiler, nobody will force you but you should boycott FOX too... We got Bones a day earlier for years.. it didn't affect the rating in any ways... if you want to boycot a great show...it's your choice, but I don't see the problem with this situation. It's a show produced in the USA, but we watch it, contributing in the ratings... we buy the goods the advertise during the show... I really don't get this attitude, it sounds very much like a spoiled child who doesn't get what he wants. We're all NCIS fan... it's not a competition to see who deserve to see the show first...
