I've been excited for this episode since the day I saw the title.

  2. Awesome scene! Is this new to the series? I don't recall that conversation as it took place in the book.

I love how Tyrion can be both charming and condescending at the same time. Talented writers and actor!

  4. I don't recall that scene, either-- you aren't alone. Any other book-readers care to clear this up?

And Tyrion is without doubt on of my favorite characters of this tv series thus far. I think it has much to do with Peter Dinklage; I wouldn't be surprised about that Emmy nod people have been talking about.

  5. I don't recall any Tyrion chapters between him leaving the wall and certain unnamed (and unspoilered) events that transpire at the Inn. I haven't read it in a while though so I could have forgotten a chapter....

Didn't Tyrion give the saddle designs for Bran to the stable master at Winterfell before the events at the Inn? It has been a long time since I read those chapters though.

I'm not sure if this actual conversation is in the books. I think they may have added it to show some of the motivation behind Theon's later actions.

  8. Oh I think you're right yea. I guess maybe they just expanded the chapter some to give Theon some more face time...

  9. They do have a tendency to introduce elements of the later plots or later books into this season. I was thinking that's why they did it too.

I was worried how the "new" scenes would feel to me, but so far all of them have felt like they were pulled from the books themselves. Great job by D&D in grasping the tone of the books!

  10. Peter Dinklage is so awesome. Perfect for Tyrion ... I also liked him in Elf :P
