I don't recall that scene, either-- you aren't alone. Any other book-readers care to clear this up?
And Tyrion is without doubt on of my favorite characters of this tv series thus far. I think it has much to do with Peter Dinklage; I wouldn't be surprised about that Emmy nod people have been talking about.
I don't recall any Tyrion chapters between him leaving the wall and certain unnamed (and unspoilered) events that transpire at the Inn. I haven't read it in a while though so I could have forgotten a chapter....
Didn't Tyrion give the saddle designs for Bran to the stable master at Winterfell before the events at the Inn? It has been a long time since I read those chapters though.
They do have a tendency to introduce elements of the later plots or later books into this season. I was thinking that's why they did it too.
I was worried how the "new" scenes would feel to me, but so far all of them have felt like they were pulled from the books themselves. Great job by D&D in grasping the tone of the books!
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
I've been excited for this episode since the day I saw the title.
ReplyDeleteAwesome scene! Is this new to the series? I don't recall that conversation as it took place in the book.
ReplyDeleteI love how Tyrion can be both charming and condescending at the same time. Talented writers and actor!
Nice to see a new commenter in a Game of Thrones thread!

ReplyDeleteI'm not sure if this actual conversation is in the books. I think they may have added it to show some of the motivation behind Theon's later actions.
ReplyDeleteOh I think you're right yea. I guess maybe they just expanded the chapter some to give Theon some more face time...
