Amy now has a baby, but she and Melody are held captive in the season finale by panto-style villainess Madame Kovarian. So the Doctor recruits a posse for a battle that River Song calls his “darkest hour”.

    Bit annoyed I came across this actually, it's fairly obvious whose name is a play on 'Melody Pond' :P

    Depends on who the father is. If it's Rory's then it's Melody Williams, not Pond.

    Except that Amy kept her name - no reason the baby can't have her mother's name. Hell, Rory has practically taken her name too, at this point.

    Exactly.  Rory has been called Pond all through this season; especially in the last episode when the Doctor even called him Roranicus Pondus >.<

    So if River is Amy and Rory's baby, I'm assuming she was the one in the space suit?  So how does the regenerating girl from the end of 6.02 come into it?  If that is River also, could it be her causing it, or did it come from left over energy after the Doctor was killed by the spaceman?

    Well i dont know if this has been mentioned yet, but me and my friend worked this out.

    Melody = Song
    Pond = River

    Melody Pond = Song River
    Pond Melody = River song

    And i think the residual energy went into young melody, and thats why the doctor let it happen so she could live
