I hate when that happens... networks should have more foresight and compassion and let fired or let go actors know before letting out a press release. More over they could have acted more swiftly to avoid any possible spoilery.
*face palm* the inner workings of this show are such a mess. Poor girl. I'm thrilled Paget's back but there is no excuse for handling this entire situation so very poorly.
why is anyone surprised? AJ Cook learned of her "sacking" via the internet! The moment the news broke on EW.com and fans tweeted about it was the moment the cast began tweeting about their dislike and shock...so not surprised that Rachel got her walking papers via the internet!! It seems to CBS's M.O.!
If they don't have the stones to tell someone to their face; they could at least call (not text) them. CBS seems to be the most guilty; I wonder when it's going to come back and bite someone in the ass.
Oh boo-hoo. CBS ALWAYS does this. The press jumps on this thing faster than anyone there can pick up a phone. Not a Seaver fan, but I have nothing against RN. Though it's always sad to see this sort of situation, *Shrugs. This is how it is now.
Despite not like Seaver very much I'm a fan of Rachel's and that was so horrible to hear. I mean ya it was gonna suck for her being fired but to be on vacation and turn on your computer and read something online that informs you that you have no job now...thats really unprofessional on the CM producers.
I'm with everyone else who says this is CBS's MO. Anyone remember when the cast of Without a Trace found out they were cancelled...while on tour promoting the nonexistent next season of Without a Trace?
Why is everyone so shocked by this? This isn't the first time CBS has used this method. They did the same thing to A.J. Cook and they obviously didn't learn from that mistake. Only CBS can be blamed for this. I don't think the CM producers are to blame here. They are obviously told what to announce publically and they have to do as CBS says. CBS appears to have no compassion in relation to how people will feel and react.
When they announced about A.J. Cook not returning for "financial reasons", the cast of CM tweeted that they had no idea what was going on. The Criminal Minds twitter account even went as far as removing A.J's twitter account from their following list. They unfollowed her account straight away which in itself was rude. The president of CBS showed no emotions in relation to the sacking of A.J. & the downsizing of Paget's screen time. They couldn't even come up with the proper reason as to why A.J. was let go. I have nothing against RN, I loved her in Alias. I just didn't like her in CM. I stopped watching when she joined. CBS even messed up how they hired RN! After saying that they had no money to keep A.J, they hired RN straight away & waited no length of time before announcing her role on CM. That in itself was careless & caused fan outrage. That must have hurt A.J. too.
I'm all for Paget coming back but they should have announced that Paget was coming back seperately from the sacking of RN. RN deserved that much at least. She should have had a proper announcement & she should have been told before hand. CBS really need to work on their communication techniques and skills.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
So unprofessional. And Kirsten learned Suspect Behavior was cancelled the same way!

ReplyDeleteBad network executives! Bad!
I totally agree.

ReplyDeleteThat's cold. The brass should be ashamed of themselves. They've turned mismanagement and unprofessional behavior into a sport.
ReplyDeleteThat's not cool. This has been happening more often these days.

ReplyDeleteI'm no fan of the Seaver character, but I like Rachel well enough. It sucks to hear she found out via the internet.

ReplyDeleteI didn't know that at all.
ReplyDeleteit's the internet. news spreads fast like the flu. so sorry that they have to learn being sacked this way though.

Wow, That's awful.
ReplyDeleteWow everyone is right, how unprofessional!
ReplyDeleteThat's disgusting. Can't imagine how it feels to find out something like that in this way.
ReplyDeleteThat's really awful, even though CBS does this all the time.
