Someone should alert Syfy's promotion division that "from the creator of X-Men: The Last Stand" is not a good selling point. In fact, it's quite the opposite.
Maybe a hero show will catch on finally? I still have my doubts considering everytime I see more of it it grabs me less and less.... I hope that is more due to editing or seeing the same bits again. Worse yet is the fact that the creator of the series looks at X-Men Last Stand as his calling card. Considering he also did Last Action Hero, Inspector Gadget, and Elektra... I guess he didn't have much of a choice.
It reminds me a lot of a short lived hero show called Mutant X. That series was never going to win any drama awards but I enjoyed it for its entertainment factor.
Doesn't look awful but 'Ordinary Family' didn't work, 'Heroes' was boring after its first season and 'The Cape' was a joke, so I wonder if 'Alphas' will be any better. darq I remember 'Mutant X', watched a couple of episodes but it always felt a bit too much like a cheap 'X-Men' rip-off.
Marvel comics released Mutant X on TV and as a comic. Fox had bought the rights to X-Men from Marvel years before and felt Mutant X was too much like X-Men and created to be a replacement for X-Men. So they sued Marvel and the production companies of Mutant X.... eventually settling out of court, but crippling Mutant X's production company with court cost.
aaah looks great :) want to see it, now! :D I think, it's not going to be like Heroes or The Cape. But you're right, it's not something completely new^^ We'll see and I hope, a lot of people will like this :D
If they pace it as well as "Charmed" was done - 'magic' instead of 'abilities', but hey..... They did 8 seasons. Having difficult imagining a season story-arc tho.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Not sure what to think about this. I'll give it a look
ReplyDeleteThis show is going to be awesome! Plus, it's got Ryan Cartwright in it!
ReplyDeleteinteresting
ReplyDeleteSo basically this is 'Heroes' in a sense?
ReplyDeleteLooks like Heroes to me... I'll take a look, specially because of "mister Nigel-Murray"
ReplyDeleteIt's like a procedural cop show except these cops have "abilities."
