Wow, this show brings so much raw emotion. I find myself tearing up in every episode of this show, but cannot take my eyes off the screen. Excellent storytelling and fantastic acting!
Me too! This is the first time in eons I feel every emotion that the characters are going through. The raw pain that the Larsens are experience - their boys confusion, dad breaking down and mom just a wreck- man Michelle Forbes is amazing. The political intrigue, the sleazy teacher- so many things going on. I cannot wait to see how this all ends up.
Quality show, it is just truly amazing. The actors are giving such gripping performances, it actually rips your heart out. Tough subject matter handled incredibly well. I really hope this show catches on. It is well worth the fans letting others know about it. If you are on FB, here's the link to "The Killings" FB page. What a great new show! Acting is fantastic, story line is keeping you guessing! Such raw emotion. Loving this show! About time we have something worth watching! I've told everyone I know!
Another terrific episode! So many twists that every week I'm left with a complete change of mind about who's worthy of suspicion. I'd like to know who that man is that Holder met in the car.
The most heartbreaking revelation was how this tragedy is affecting the little boy. With his mother gone numb, he has to sneak out to buy his own milk for breakfast, then big brother puts him on a guilt trip for eating his dead sister's cereal, then his mother freaks out when she sees him in the bathtub--I just feel for that kid. On top of being mistreated, he has his own grief that no one is helping him deal with.
Just amazing. When i was looking at the new shows in April I thought Game of Thrones would be one of my new fav shows and The Killing a nice addition. Turns out it's the other way around, The Killing is utterly addictive.
Michelle Forbes absolutely deserves an Emmy for her role as grieving mother, her performance gives me goosebumps every time, can't imagine any other supporting actress doing a better job. But Sexton as father who tries to hold it together and be strong for the family's sake is almost equally good.
Besides that there were some interesting twists this week. I'm really interested to get more information on this other case Linden used to investigate which was mentioned by her fiancee. Maybe the cases are even connected since the murderer seems to be a pro. Can't wait to find out more about Holder. He's my fav character right now. He's a bit creepy and weird sometimes, but surely a capable detective. But what was he doing with the guy in the care and especially what's his connection to the woman and the kids in the house he visited at the episode's end. Still not quite sure what to think about Richmond. He's not really a suspect in the case and also doesn't seem very involved in the investigation itself. But I assume there will be some deeper connection.
If you like serial crime dramas like this you should check out "Durham County". It's dark and dramatic like The Killing and has brilliant actors like Hugh Dillon, Justin Louis and Michelle Forbes is in Season Two. It has the same mood and heaviness, but a slightly wider scope to me. I think The Killing is a better executed production overall thus far, but Durham County is close and one of my favorite "under-watched" series of the genre.
Yeah, you mentioned that before if I remember correctly and I also read an interview with Forbes where she mentioned this show because it's a bit similar to The Killing. I'll try to check it out some time.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
