This episode had a lot of potential and Kelli Williams did a great job, but I wish they would not have taken up time to deal with Prentiss "dying". Last week was awesome with a full 43 minutes devoted to the unsub and this week was good, but missing those 5 or 10 minutes dealing with the grief counseling made it just good to me not awesome.
I liked the fact they were talking about Prentiss and how they were coping. I found that it was a good thing and actually it kind of fit in with the overall unsub story of a woman who couldn't deal with losing her son and how she wasn't coping with her grief. It has a very good effect and highlighted in some ways, the way the team was dealing losing Emily. I also liked the fact that they mentioned Hotch losing his wife and how he was coping with that.
Kelli was Brilliant as Shelly .. I liked how they tied the the grieving Family story lines together.. Felt like they were able to understand and justify the UnSubs actions as they just went/going through the same thing.. Great job!
Well the episode was perfect into Bau teams dealing with grief anger over emily death ,how strange is it Hodge asking there feelings when he knows she is alive , in the end open mic talking other woman about the loss of her spoon and how she loved him etc and the team listing to him .
I hate to be a killjoy, but I was left feeling like the team was lackluster. The case and the actors were great, and listening to the others trying to deal with their feelings was good also. I think this set us up for the hints out there about what's coming for Hotch and everything he's had to deal with since his marriage started to fall apart. I like the show when it deals with a case but also shows what a family the team is. Two of my favorite episodes, Penelope and Revelations, show the team rallying around one of their own and show how strong their bond is with each other.
I love the investigations, but I think character development is important too. This makes us bond with the team and makes the show well-rounded.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Kelli was fabulous!
