    Who should she choose? --- Chuck.

    I would love to see her choose Dan but it would be better for everyone if she chooses Chuck. Why? Because both Chuck and Blair are terrible, damaged people who shouldn't inflict themselves on others.

    I really really love Blair and Dan together, because he is caring of her, he understand her, but we know is gonna be Chair, but come on, the writers can take the risk like the Dawson's creek did it, in the final of the last promo for 5 episodes, i think Blair is telling the news to Dan and not to Chuck.

    Chuck because "the only real thing is him and Blair". No one can touch their history.Chuck has done some awful things to Blair, but their story is not over yet, and hopefully he will be redeemed the best he can. I ship what they can be. And Ed and Leighton are terrific actors that work beautifully together.

    I really hope she chooses Dan. Honestly, I miss the Chair banter and flirty moments, but I'm tired of the drama. They aren't much fun to watch anymore. Plus, Chuck seems to be going after her this time for all the wrong reasons - not because he loves her or misses her or thinks he can make her happy, but because he wants his partner in crime back, and because she understands him and he needs that now. Dan and Blair are mostly drama-free, and they have surprisingly good chemistry, and they've been good for each other so far. So it's team Dair for me. :D

    Blair hasn't done anything as bad as Chuck has, like selling your loved one to a hotel. Sure, she did some terrible things, but they are not at the same level as Chuck. Besides, right now, she's healthy, happy and not scheming - Dan made that happen.

    I get why people don't like Chuck. But don't like Chuck is different than want Blair to be with Dan just because they don't like Chuck. I'm a chair shipper but i love Dan! O_O And i love Dan/Blair interactions, and i read a lot of hate commentsn from the Dair shippers.

    I know a lot of Chair shipper who actually like Dan and Dair, but they don't want them to get romantically involved.

    I'm team Dark Knight and team Pauper, I love Dairr, but to me it looks like they go as far as they can (In the promo, isen't there a sex scene with them?) At the same time, I love Chair - And Chuck is so intense in the clips, although I don't want them to get boring... So I chose Chuck, but I don't really mind as long as it's one of them.

    As I do yours. I did too, but I have a feeling that it's going to be alright. Even though Dan can be a judgmental ass, he's truly a nice guy with a kind heart to boot. I think he could change her ways, as she could change his, that's the whole thing with their relationship too, isn't it? They're both from different worlds, hated the other but then they realize it's not so bad after all. Dan did make Serena likeable back in season 1 too. Only time will tell, if they really do decide to go down that road.

    Ok, I have a question - and I mean a legitimate, civilized question that I'm actually looking for an answer to, not a way to prove my point or verbally get ripped a new one by Chair shippers. A lot of the comments I've read that are pro-Chair keep referring to them as "destiny" and "meant to be" and that sort of thing, referencing their history and past scenes and quotes for reasons they should be together. So does that mean that Chuck and Blair shippers love how Chuck and Blair used to be (in the first two seasons, I'm assuming) and are hoping that, given the chance, they'll go back to being those characters again? Or is there anything more recent that makes you think they work as they are now?

    A little of both. I think most of us enjoyed their S1/S2 dynamic (and early S3, even). There have been changes made to both characters that aren't doing them any favors... i.e., the assification of Chuck and the more recent Humphreyfication of Blair. But taking the characterization of the two of them, over the series as a whole, I think it's pretty obvious they have something together that they don't have with anyone else. Unfortunately, the writers have flat-out admitted they don't know how to write happy couples, so I'm sure we're far from done with the obstacles getting thrown in front of them... but I am optimistic that they'll be fixed and reunited at some point. Hopefully while the show still has a few viewers left.

    Ok. So basically it's a mix of their past and their ever present chemistry. Right? I don't necessarily agree that the, erm , Humpreyfication (my new favorite word, by the way) of Blair is a bad thing, but I do agree that the Chuck I loved has been turned into a total ass, and that makes me sad. I have a follow up question, then. I also loved Chuck and Blair in the first two seasons, and I'd be fine, even happy, to see them together again if Chuck can get himself together and their lighter, funnier moments came back around. But since I don't see Chuck redeeming himself by the end of the season, especially with what I've read in spoilers and seen in previews, is it really in the best interest of Chair shippers for them to get back together now? Would it really be any different than when their less than stellar first attempt at a relationship? While I understand not wanting Blair to be with Dan if you don't like them as a couple, wouldn't you not want Chuck and Blair to get back together right now, either?

    Dan! Please Dan! I have hated Chuck and Chair from the very beginning. Their chemistry is overrated and turning an attempted rapist into a romantic hero was DISGUSTING. Dan and Blair are really something special. They're normal, healthy and sweet, and interesting to watch at the same time! I truly think they're meant to be, they get each other in a way that nobody else can. In a way they are the healthier and sweeter version of Chair, I guess.

    Chuck and Blair are abusive and toxic, Chuck sees Blair as a possession, something that he owns, not as a person. I mean he sold her for a hotel for crying out loud. I wish girls watching this show would realise that Chuck is not a bad boy with a heart of gold - he is a stone cold, plain bad person. The type of guy that will NEVER change for you or for any girl. Chuck's only true love is himself!

He has not done one single thing to redeem himself, that whole "I am a changed man" storyline was bullshit and it just wanted the viewers to forgive Chuck for all the things he has done and to even the scales with this whole Blair and Chuck duel. Blair deserves someone who will treat her nice and won't use her as a doormat. Not Chuck, who slept with his ~soulmate's~ rival right after he gave her the ultimatum.. And he even had the guts to propose to her. I could make you a list of why Chuck is a douche and deserves no one, but it'll be way too long. Besides, Blair said herself that she hated who she became when she was with him, is that really love?

    I don't necessarily want them back together right now, especially in the finale- that would feel rushed and unsatisfying. I just want them interacting (because they're pretty much the only reason I watch the show at this point) and moving towards an eventual reconciliation. I don't even mind either of them dating other people in the meantime. But I won't watch Dan and Blair (nor would I watch Chuck date Serena). It's just... too unpleasant to tolerate. So as long as that's going on, I'm on hiatus.

    No. I remember in an interview way, way back where she said that she would rather have that Blair was single and she thought that Chuck was a bad influence on Blair, or something like that my memory is blurry. But then Chair stans started bashing her and woopti doo, she suddenly supports Chair. I doubt that if she was against Chair in S1, she would approve of it now. If she has any love at all for her character, she wouldn't.

    But Chuck and Blair don't have anything besides a love of scheming and some warmed over sexual chemistry. Their storyline in Season 2 was especially bad, I don't see how anyone could have enjoyed it. The writers knew that there was nothing they could do with Chuck and Blair once they were together so they put it off for as long as they could. Because they're so alike, they cannot challenge or banter with each other, and because they have nothing normal in common, like movies and so on, they have to resort to the one thing that they do love, which is schemes and games. That in turn brings out the worst in both and drags them down. It's a horrible relationship. Perhaps the worst I've ever seen on TV.

    On the other hand, the writers clearly love writing for Dan and Blair - it's witty, sharp and intelligent dialogue, and both characters have personalities that play off beautifully off each other. Compare that to ChuckandBlair's Twilightesque - 3 words 8 letters, etc. It's so high school and immature. Chair as far as I'm concerned is best left in the past. Who knows, maybe even Chuck can become a better person away from this relationship.

They've been through so much, and yes, Dan and Blair have chemistry, but so do tons of people who are never meant to be anything more than good friends.     As much as we all care for the 'good guy' it would not make a healthy relationship. The differences between Dan and Blair are simply too much. Don't underestimate the way Blair was raised and what she is used to. In the big picture ( and yes even in the future ) money and a certain way of life can put a damper on the most happy relationships. We see it all around us when celebrity A marries a nobody... Dan does not value the same things Blair does and vice versa, opposites may attract yes but it takes a lot of maturity (which they both lack) to make that work. As far as we have seen they share a mutual love for old movies and literature. Dan could care less about the finer things in life or how the world sees him while Blair values these things and they make her who she is.
    Not to mention it makes boring tv...
    Chuck and Blair need to grow up first and foremost before they can be King and Queen of their world, but when they do they will love eachother more passionately and more deeply then Dan and Blair ever could.

    See, this is exactly why I'm confused. Why are Chuck and Blair meant to be? I grant you they have great chemistry, and they had some wonderful scenes together way back when, but what exactly makes them so destined for each other? The way Chuck has acted lately hasn't exactly screamed "soul mate" to me. And I don't just mean the hotel deal, or sleeping with Jenny - lately he tends to ignore Blair the second something or someone else distracts him (Eve, Raina, Bass Industries), and only pays attention to her when he wants something from her. What is so meant to be about that? As I've pointed out before, I'm not denying that the writers can't eventually redeem Chuck and make him good enough for Blair again someday, but I just don't see it happening by the end of the season. And wouldn't you want them to take them time to really make him better rather than rushing into a Chair relationship for all the wrong reasons which means it probably won't go any better than it did last time? And what if they never manage to redeem Chuck? Is Blair really meant to be with someone who treats her this way? Because to me, that's a huge bummer, and not exactly a reason to tune in. So saying that they're meant to be when their current relationship is such a wreck ... that doesn't make much sense to me at all. Which is not to say you have to be team Dair or anything. Just that I don't really understand this whole "destined to be" angle. Just my opinion, though.

    While once again I don't agree with you about Dan and Blair (but I might about Chuck and Serena ... that just sounds weird), I'm honestly not as interested in defending my ship as understanding the pro-Chair argument. So here's my next question - if that's the case, and assuming a good amount of Chair shippers feel as you do, shouldn't the "No One" option be getting a whole lotta love right now? Is the wave of Chair support from the last couple months really because the Chair shippers want Chair now, or they're worried that the surprisingly enthusiastic response for Dair means that they won't get Chair ever again? In other words, do Chair lovers love Chair as they are now, or are they rising up in defense from a threat to their hopeful shipping future? And it's the latter, shouldn't the official stance not be "Blair should be with Chuck immediately because they're meant to be someday" but "Blair shouldn't be with another major character right now, because Chuck needs to eventually be redeemed, and Chair should get back together again" aka, in the context of this poll, the "No One" option. Or Louis. Either way.

    In speculation and spoiler it appears that Blair will flat out tell Dan she doesn't have feelings, so I don't see what he owes her in terms of being with other people.     Well, as I'm sure you're well aware, "no one" is not a serious contender (either in this poll, or on the show) so voting that way is a waste of time. Kind of like voting for a third-party candidate in an election. I would certainly be tempted by an "anyone but Dan" option though.

    Here's the thing, I watch the show for Chuck and Blair. When they don't interact, I lose interest. When Blair hooks up with Dan, I turn off my TV entirely. So ultimately, I'm voting for what I enjoy watching.

    Dan did something distasteful he normally wouldn't of chosen to do because of his association with Blair. Whether or not he decided to make up for it is moot. It's crossing those lines in the first place that is the problem.

    Fair enough, I suppose. But I wonder if this sudden surge of Chair support is for the wrong reason, and will lead to them getting back together by the end of the season, which doesn't seem to be what anybody wants (hey I rhymed! xD). Anyway, I guess you're right, and it's not like you can get a rallying cry of "Don't let Blair date anybody seriously until Chuck's relatively good again" going as easily as "Chair forever!" It just seems that it's going to be taken the wrong way, and in the end, a vast majority of fans on both sides will end up unhappy.

    Anyway, thanks for answering my questions. It's interesting to hear from the other point of view. Although, just for honesty's sake, there's a good chance that if Chair get back together this season, I'll be just as upset as you'd be by Dair, and might stop watching just like you would in the opposite situation (I'm sorry, but I can't do the drama again). The writers seem to have put themselves into an unfortunate spot, huh?

    first of all..Dan and Blair's first kiss was a test not a commitment. Second, the second kiss is part of Blair's plan to distract ppl from her secret relationship with the Prince. So no he would not be just sleeping with Charlie after kissing Blair. He likes her but it seems like she either doesnt or she is in denial. Plus he stops with Charlie before anythiing goes too far.     S4 finished filming weeks ago, so none of this voting or arguing will have any effect on the finale. That outcome is already known, and while it's 100% certain not to be Dan, I'm relatively certain it's not Chuck either. And I'm fine with that.

    And with all due respect, no, I don't think think you understand how upset some of us would be, given that you actually liked this couple together for two full seasons. My feelings towards Dan and Blair have ranged only from apathy to intense hatred.

    First of all, I've watched other TV shows, you know. I've seen couples I hate get together. Duncan and Veronica from Veronica Mars were particularly bad, but there have been others. And I still think it's worse when you used to like a couple, because it's all the more excruciating to watch them and remember how much you loved them, and how very much you don't love them anymore.

    And I know at this point it doesn't make a difference for this season. I'm talking about the sentiment that was expressed before they wrapped, and maybe a little bit for early next season. I wasn't talking about just this poll. Sorry if I didn't make that clear. :D

    Well, I think people want the producers to know that we're still here and haven't given up. Before, you know, we actually do give up... which is becoming a very real possibility for a lot of fans. A 4x12-4x17 redux, at this point, would probably get the show cancelled. And that's no easy feat on the CW.

But as far as the ratings go, while Dair may have been part of it considering the Chair support, I think we can also blame Serena's more boring than usual relationship plot, Chuck's even duller Bass Industries plot, Vanessa and Jenny being MIA, and Nate having nothing to do for most of those episodes. Ironically, Dair was the only thing I liked watching during the past few episodes. Oh well. I can live with no Dair if only the rest of the plots weren't so ... eh.

    Blair is much more cut out for Chuck than for Dan. In the "selling Blair to his uncle" part, i think Chuck didn't have any other choice as much as he wanted to, BUT he never actually begged Blair to do it. Blair was just saddened by the fact that he tried to sell her. In the end. she did forgive him right?? IN Dan's case, as much as i hate to admit, he did get Blair's scheming attitudes which i don't like.

    Just expressing my opinion here so don't hate please. I think DAIR vs. CHAIR arguments are similar to Romeo and Juliet? Why? Because some people find Romeo and Juliet romantic, while others find the story tragic.
    I personally found it tragic. They killed themselves for crying out loud. They did not even consider their options.
    I'm a DAIR shipper simply for the reason because I find the C/B pairing tragic. I think they'll destroy each other eventually because no balance exists there at all. They are too similar. Dan and Blair are alike yet are the same time different and that provides good balance in relationship because there's always a voice of reason there that helps you see things from a different point of view.

    But seriously, we all have to get our acts together, both as DAIR and as CHAIR fans. Why? Season 5 has not been confirmed yet. If we really want to see ENDGAME we NEED season 5. And despite all the arguments, the hate mails, the heated discussions at the end of the day we are all GG fans (whether we are proud to admit it or not). We're actually all on the same ship. Just in different areas of it.

    WE ALL NEED SEASON 5. We won't get it of we start bailing just because we become a bunch of brats throwing a tantrum when we don't get what we want. And no that was not a dig at CHAIR fans because I also see that comment on wanting to stop watching in the DAIR boards.

Instead he played on her emotions by convincing her he was falling apart "I am everything my father said I was" etc, and then blamed Blair for it when she was emotionally manipulated into going up there on her own

    It's insulting when people compare it to the kissing game Blair played with Chuck. All Chuck really cared about there was that Blair lied to him, kissing a guy wasn't a big deal to him at all. Whereas Chuck knew what it would do to Blair's self-esteem to whore herself out for property

Yes, the deal he made with his uncle was unforgivable. But they're just so great together. Their love was so amazing, and I still find 'The Goodbye Gossip Girl' the sweetest episode there is.

    The Prince needed to hide his relationship with her from his family, but that's just dumb. Blair comes from old money, and it's not like princes haven't married commoners before. If the prince is an only child, I don't see how his parents could reject his marriage choice. He's allowed as a male heir to almost do as he pleases.     Chuck/Blair fans have the intuition skills of an anteater. Character analysis 101: Chair was no more than a glorified wish fulfilment fantasy gone terribly awry; it should never have been canon at all. JK Rowling's horror at the love for Draco Malfoy comes to mind, at least she had the decency not to pander to the fangirls and respected her female characters.

    The difference between Blair and Chuck (and why B is a far more sympathetic character) is that Blair's bitchiness and scheming is just a FRONT: she is that way to hide how vulnerable and hurt she is inside. Chuck really IS that way, he genuinely enjoys making other people's lives a misery and knows no other way of living. I really have no idea what he enjoys other than whores and money and mindgames. And don't give me that sob story about how daddy never loved him. I don't care about his manpain! Stick him with Blair and you've got a recipe for disaster. Chuck doesn't understand love and doesn't understand other human beings, he saw Blair as something he wanted and someone he thought would make him feel less alone. He tried to suck everything that was good right out of her.

    Chuck is BAD. Just rotten, full stop.

    Charles love and yes, he understands other 'human beings', have you at least watched the last episodes? His interaction with Raina? She's like him, she had no concrete family, but the small difference between them, the difference that makes Charles so 'bad' is because his father always blamed him for his mother's death and she wasn't EVEN dead. His father was never there for him.
    When Blair started this relationship, she knew she'd probably get 'stuck' and she wanted it. She wants it. It's inpossible not to know that people that are disturbed by the past and by bad family relationships are going to create something so strong with the person they love thatthis person will get 'stuck', once she/he is in love, too.
    Even the portrayer of Blair thinks she belongs to Charles. Dan is a good friend, and JUST a good FRIEND.

    There's nothing to pretend about. Dan isn't nearly as bad as anyone else on the show. Even when he does something wrong, it's usually just a stupid decision made without malice. The same can't be said for almost everyone else on the show who are routinely and willfully vindictive.

    The fact that you refer to him as a "self-righteous douchebag" only serves to highlight the difference between him and the rest of the characters.

    This is exactly why DB bothered me so much. They isolated all the other characters in guest star story lines in order to do DB. I could live with DB being together - as much as I would hate it - if only the writers would give the rest of the characters something to do. But instead they leave them in limbo because they don't want to move on from CB/DS even though they still want to do DB. They have to pick one option or the other, honestly. Either do DB for real, and actually allow Chuck and Serena to grow on their own and have REAL relationships... Or else leave DB alone and go back to fixing the original endgames.

    This poll is hilarious!! I can provide links to several other similar polls currently online at other legitimate, well-known websites all of which have CHAIR winning by a landslide!!! At the end of the day, it is meaningless. Chuck&Blair is GG's OTP & endgame pairing. That fact has been & continues to be well-established. CB are THE reason most viewers tune in & invest in the show. CB and LM/EW put GG on the map & made the show AND the CB love story a phenomenon!!! They are the show's key romance & ALWAYS will be. Face It; CB+DESTINY=ENDGAME!!!

    The Dan and Blair arc was always about exploring their dynamic & establishing a friendship between them. It was never going to be more. There simply is no romance vibe there. Isolating the characters to explore the dynamic was a HUGE MISTAKE!!!

    Now, we can move on & refocus the show on CB's love story (which is the main draw), Serena & Blair's friendship, and Dan & Serena's romance--which I believe is the secondary focus in terms of GG's couple hierarchy.

    Team Dark Knight & CHAIR ALL THE WAY!!!
