You can try to soothe your fans saying that there will be lots of new mindblowing storylines... Nathan was the core of the show. The funny element that pulled you in every time you watch an episode. Now he's gone. Well, I guess you can expect a dramatic decrease of viewer's numbers.
I think the show would be good on its own right but it just won't be the same and Nathan was the reason lots of people watched. He's what pulled me in too. The other character's funny moments was usually when they reacted to him. And what is the chance this new Rudy character will be equally as good? Not huge.
WTF !!!!!!! They should cancel Third series as well then. What the hell, there can't be Misfits without Nathan, he is the whole fucking show ! And please don't tell me his new powers will change him physically, so they're casting a new guy. This just BLOWS !
This is a (totally lame) late april fools joke, right?! It must be because Misfits without Nathan would be the same as Christmas without gifts & frickin' Santa--joyless, depressing and would make a lot of people cry.
That's really sucks and now, we know him leave,he's gonna be exclusive in the web site ? That's really sucks, Nathan is Misftis without him , the serie died
I'll miss him on the show, but I don't think that the series is dead without him, I think the most important thing he brought to the show was comedy, so if they can find someone with good comedic timing and integrate that person into the group.
I always thought that Simon was the core of the show, sure Nathan got to make most of the jokes, and the first series was all about him complaining about not having a power, the second series was all about Simon coming out of his shell as a person, Alisha falling in love with SuperHoodie Simon and then regular Simon.
yeah, sure. because the atrocious super idiot from the future storyline was sooo good. the show jumped the shark after ep 2 of season 2. it was a great show with jokes and smart stories and then it became like every other usa show, confused bad written sci-fi stories with boring like hell romance. and the guy playing simon is the worst actor ever existed.
Simon the core of the show? No way LOL. And I agree with "key"'s comment, when his character and that fangirly Simon and Alisha awful romance took over the show, it started to suck. The Super Hero from the future thing was awful and Simon can't carry the show. You'll see that you're wrong when it comes back and there's no Nathan to laugh at and bring people together.
I agree, for me Simon has always been the core of the show. Most of the truly interesting and unpredictable things on the series have happened to him. His relationship with Sally, slow integration into the group, his bromance with Nathan, disposing of the bodies, his relationship with Alisha. And how the Superhoodie storyline just resonates up and down his character arch. Even as a superhero he' Is still an intense and reserved person with big ass stalker tendencies. Funny in both seasons the extra online footage was made by Simon.
I'll miss Nathan, for the humor he brings, but Simon is definitely the core of the show. If you don't like his character or can't wrap you head around the F!Simon storyline, it's probably best to watch something else now that Nathan is leaving.
I'm looking forward to where they will take Simon next, and without Nathan's character there to do the heavylifting on the comedic front, i'm looking to Kelly and Curtis step up to the plate and show what they got. Kinda wish they weren't adding a new character, I'd like them to stick with the remaining four or have Marnie take his place. That way the avoid the comparisons and fan backlash.
That sucks, he's one of the big reasons my family and I watch this show, he's scenes are always epic. I agree with others, it won't be the same without Nathan (Robert). :[ The 'Rudy' guy is going to have to work hard if he wants to replace the irreplaceable, not looking forward to the third season so much anymore.
I seriously doubt that, I think this is just a knee jerk reaction tbh. The show is about a lot more than just him, and most of the people I know were finding him a bit of a one trick pony last year. I think it's best for the actor to leave on a high :)
Simon is not the core of the show LOL. It's an ensemble, but if there's a character that's featured the most and has more fan, it's Nathan. It's definitely a fact, unless you're a fangirl. Nathan, his dad, his brother, his relationship with his mother, his supposed lack of a power, the way everybody "hated" him, his fake death, everything revolves around him. And it's so much better than the generic, done a million times, hero from the future storyline. Simon is part of the core of the show, not the core. What the hale!
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO :'( i'm about to cry
Have YOU not watched the Christmas special? We can assume that all (except Alisha and possibly Curtis) got their powers back. Nathan could quite possibly still be immortal, so getting rid of him may be difficult.
omg we should start a petition for him not to leave becvause loads of people wont watch it he is the hot one apart from future simon meow ;) so this rudy better be super hot and always get it out they should hold a contest to be on a show before nathan leaves x
If you skip over Nathan's side stories in the series it doesn't hurt the show. His brother, his mother, his father. Cause Nathan's side stories revolve around Nathan. Curtis had the same problem in season 2 with Nikki. Simon's stories always revolve around the group. Holding it together, trying to be a part of it, and protecting it.
Nathan's an extroverted, scene stealer that is easy to love. Him leaving doesn't hurt the stories the series has been set up to tell, not like his leaving would have if he didn't return after the first season. What it does hurt is the comedy but they can write him off. And if they're really lucky the person that plays Rudy will be funny, and win the audience over despite the massive fan-backlash his character has to deal with.
If Simon left, as the story stands now, then there would be too many unanswered questions.
I found Simon more interesting than Nathan, before the Superhoodie reveal. After the reveal there was just no contest. Your mileage my vary.
They're all getting new powers. There was a report about it, their new powers are still going to be linked to who they are, but none are keeping their old powers.
i have a very big obsession and 99% of tha obsession is because of the humor that is given from nathan in the show it wont be the same with out him nathan young was the best part of misfits he can't leave :(
its gonna be shit without him might aswell cancel the hole thing gonna lose A LOT of audience i dont think ill watch it with out him i love the other characters but its just not right it would be the same if you got rid of any of the other members of the cast ... VV so dissapointed hope its not true.
You couldn't be more wrong if you were a nun vivisectionist. Future Simon and present Simon are strikingly different, as distinct as a wolf and a sheep. They move differently, their body-language markedly unique. Future Simon is Intense. He smoulders. In the Christmas special when most of the other 'Asbo's' are killed by 'Lactose Boy' you actually see him turn. He goes in an instant from meek geek to scary avenger, his eyes from vulnerable to hard flinty, the commitment to what must be done to save his friends reflected in his face. Gives me shivers. It is artful acting, Iwan Rheon: Approved. As for Nathan being the lynchpin of the show; not so. Yes Robert Sheehan IS genius in the role but to me they are ALL essential. If you remove any one of the characters it would change the dynamic of the group, the subtle ebb and flow of their interactions. It remains to be seen if the removal of Nathan and introduction of Rudy will somehow spoil the delicate balance of this, it has to be said, dazzling jewel of a show. For sure and four score.
actually that's bull shit... iwan rheon is a fantastic actor, he portrays the awkwardness of "simon" perfectly and also plays his confidant side brilliantly. I really don't see how you see him as a bad actor? maybe you only think this because he's shy, but if you haven't noticed this is his character and i could not think of someone who could play it better.p.s misfits isn't a show from the usa... you really are stupid arnt you. learn what your talking about before you speak thick shit..
I'm sorry are you stupid? the future simon made the story more interesting, first finding out who the hooded figure was, then seeing normal simon develop into him. i loved season two, and the fact that Nathan had found out about his own power made him more cocky as he knew he couldn't die, which i found hilarious
You got to be kidding me! No Robert Sheehan on Misfits? Oh well, No reason for me to watch Misfits anymore. I only watched it because of Robert (Nathan). I guess it's on to bigger and better things for him. Congratulations on your cureer Robert and good luck in the future. I'll be sure and watch you on the 'big screen'.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
What ??????? No !!!!!!!

ReplyDelete:( come on he is the show. its like scrubs without JD
ReplyDeleteWTF !!!!!!! They should cancel Third series as well then. What the hell, there can't be Misfits without Nathan, he is the whole fucking show ! And please don't tell me his new powers will change him physically, so they're casting a new guy. This just BLOWS !
ReplyDeleteFUCK NO!
ReplyDeleteThat can't be true!!! :(
ReplyDeleteno. No. NO. NOOOOOOOO!!!
ReplyDeleteThis show is doomed without him :( ughhhh

This is awful! I can't imagine Misfits without Nathan, he's the soul of the show!
ReplyDeleteO_o Nooooo!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is a (totally lame) late april fools joke, right?! It must be because Misfits without Nathan would be the same as Christmas without gifts & frickin' Santa--joyless, depressing and would make a lot of people cry.

lol rudy. it's good then that the show became crap in season 2 with the revolting supersimon stuff.
ReplyDeleteyou fucking kidding me bro? the amount of viewers is going to decrease ALOT. I hope you know that.
ReplyDeleteWhat? That storyline was badass!
ReplyDeletePlease, please no. I love all the characters, but he's the funny. It won't be the same without him.
ReplyDeleteAnd Rudy? Come on ...
Well, there goes the show.
ReplyDeleteNoooooooooooooooooooooo. Absolutely no point doing a 3rd series.
ReplyDeleteSimon the core of the show? No way LOL. And I agree with "key"'s comment, when his character and that fangirly Simon and Alisha awful romance took over the show, it started to suck. ReplyDeletehave you not watched the christmas special?

ReplyDeletethey gonna lose like 97% of the public
I seriously doubt that, I think this is just a knee jerk reaction tbh. The show is about a lot more than just him, and most of the people I know were finding him a bit of a one trick pony last year. I think it's best for the actor to leave on a high :)
