YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteHahaha, everyone was stressing about ratings and now this
ReplyDeleteme likes.
ReplyDeleteGreat news!
ReplyDeleteR.R. Martin once said the second book could be split in 2 seasons, I'm curious to see if they'll do it that way.
I'll admit that I was worried about the ratings at first. I'm very glad to see to see the renewal come this quickly. It's a great show!
ReplyDeleteYeaah :D!!!!!!! This makes my day. I was a little sad about the ratings, but at least we have a second season regardless :).
ReplyDeleteFrom what I have heard, Book 2 (though ridiculously long), might be more of a 12 episode season, while Book 3 would really have to be split into two seasons.
ReplyDeleteI hope viewers dont leave the show then, people will get bored very quickly
ReplyDeleteThis renewed my hope in humanity.
ReplyDeleteI think Game of Thrones will have an issue with people leaving for a reason around season's end... but boredom is not the reason I think of...
ReplyDeleteIt was never in doubt that it would get a second season. They made a mega-deal with Sky (if I recall) network and actually came out MAKING money without any commercial income. Pretty awesome that the most expensive seres on TV can not have advertisers and still be in the black before the first episode airs!
ReplyDeleteHBO must like this show since i heard It got weak ratings.Although things are different on Cable especilly for premuem channels.
ReplyDeleteOh boy... Will Ned really die? I'm suspecting this ever since he Sean Bean joined this pilot with Ashley Judd.
ReplyDeleteHmmm, could be that I mixed those infos up...
ReplyDeleteRenewed already after just one episode?! Amazing! I hope the success of the show continues. I just might continue watching after all.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a good thing, but I think they need to settle the hell down. A renewal after just ONE episode? I really hate it when they do things like this. I know my reaction may confuse those who are attached to the show, but I think this early of a renewal is a terrible idea. They should have given it at least half the season to settle in.
ReplyDeleteOh well, they're making a big gamble here, I hope it pays off.
:D I wasn't sure there with they way they have been taking about the early numbers! Now I know we can just enjoy it with out worrying where it will go!
ReplyDeleteI haven't read the books and the fact they revealed he's joined another show was kinda stupid...because people now know whats going to happen...dumb move
ReplyDeleteTo be fair that isn't HBO's fault. I don't know how long they could have kept it under wraps since the pilot for his new show has been picked up. I don't think they have any control over that, especially since I believe it's a show for another network.
ReplyDeleteWell it really could go in any direction. Book 1 (this season) was 720 pages. Book 2 was 1040 pages, Book 3 was 1216 pages. Book 4 was slightly shorter (1114 pages), but book 5 is supposed to be longer than Book 3. Ultimately, George RR Martin has speculated that Book 3 will need two seasons and Books 4/5 will be 3 seasons between the two.
ReplyDeleteWant the spoiler? Hmmm... I won't tell you in case others read this and don't know yet, but I will say this.... NO character is safe in Game if Thrones and multiple people die (without coming back) every book.
ReplyDeleteTo add to the confusion.... Book 3 and 4 take place at the same time but follow different characters. So I would wager events from book 3 and Book 4 will turn up in Season 3....
ReplyDeleteThere really is enough "meat" in each of the books in the series to split into two seasons. If it continues on I think the 3rd and 4th books will be 3 seasons combined...
ReplyDeleteI think Boardwalk got a similar renewal if I recall..... HBO is great about giving even 'mediocre' rated shows a second season.... it's when you hit season three that the renewals don't come as easily...
ReplyDeleteHonestly, and don't hate me, but I have yet to read Book 4 XD. I have been waiting for ADwD for a LONG time now and, by the time I realised that it wasn't going to be released anytime soon, I had already waited a long enough time that it seemed reasonable to continue waiting.
ReplyDeleteI'm on my way through Book 1 for the third time now and will have read Book 4 by July 12th :D. I didn't know that Book 3 and 4 overlap as well. I just knew that Book 4 and 5 were the same period of time (although dance will go farther), split by character.
The characters NOT covered in book 3 are caught up in Book 4 so there is overlap there.... and then the plots covered in Book 3 are continued. My guess is that it's similar to how Book 4 & 5 will be. *shrug* dunno.....
ReplyDeleteNah, no spoilers. And I think I already know...
