Doctor Who - Will pay tribute to Elisabeth Sladen

Doctor Who will pay tribute to Elisabeth Sladen when the show returns for a new series this Saturday.

The actress, loved for her portrayal of investigative journalist Sarah Jane Smith, passed away yesterday morning after battling cancer.

Asked if a tribute to Sladen will be featured on the upcoming episode, a spokesperson for Doctor Who told Digital Spy that the show's production team are "planning something suitable".

However, further information on what that might include is not yet available.

    I didn't know it either, was really surprised to hear that. It's really sad not only because I was hoping to see her in DW again somehow after the SJA finale :(

    Sad news. I didn't realize that she had passed away when I noticed her name on my screen today. In the too few episodes I have seen of her on DW, I really liked her character.

    BBC America is also planning to air an acknowledgement of Elisabeth Sladen during the season premiere Saturday night, but the report I saw (http://www.tvline.com/2011/04/doctor-who-elisabeth-sladen-dead-at-63/#more-209078) does not indicate whether it's the same thing the BBC will be airing during the UK broadcast or not.
