I’ve got some good news and some bad news, Castle fans. The bad is that the season finale will also be one character’s finale! The good? Well, um, I’m sure it’ll be exciting.

Obviously, I’m sworn to secrecy as to the identity of the soon-to-be dearly departed. But I can tell you that it’s someone who’s been with the series since the beginning.

    Ryan or Espisito, maybe, but I've got $$$ on Capt. Montgomery. Nothin' "freshens" or "shakes up" a show like regime change.

    Okay, let's think about this. We're not going to lose a main cast member - I'm fairly sure of that. So the only ones it could really be:

    - Castle's mum
    - Montgomery
    - Beckett's dad? I know he's in the finale episode.

    From the beginning??? Hmmm... I'm sure that none of main characters are in danger - so in my opinion it is going to be Beckett's father. Sure... he was just in one episode - but he was mentioned about in all seasons.
    I just don't see any other way. Killing off one of the main cast members would be extremly dumb idea.

    I'm gonna go with Gina...Also can anyone check and make sure that there are signed contracts for Montgomery, Lanie and Martha since those are the ones that it could realistically be, anyone else it would be to damaging for us the viewers as well as the show itself imo...

    ...and one other thing guys...
    Of course there will be cliffhanger and think it's gona be one of the "classic" cliffhangers in television. In a way...... you know.... last case in season 3 is over and in final scene Beckett or Casle will get shoot saving the other one.... and of course we will have to wait to another season to see that everything is going to be okay :))))
    ...but it's just me :)

    Does the death directly affect the case involved???...Mostly we all think that case is going to cont. with Beckett's Mother's murder because of the title but a Knockout blow could be served for a number of reasons, just saying...

    I HIGHLY doubt it will be Ryan because they confirmed that he will marry his girlfriend onscreen next season. I don't see Esposito going either.

    I think it'll either be Captn. or Lanie. Both are used sporadically and could possibly be replaced easily. If they're going out with a bang, I am betting on the Capt. The finale is likely about Beckett's mother's murder mystery and he's supposedly got a foot in the door of that so I imagine he'll go.

    Captn. or Lanie could possibly be replaced easily, but Lanie is with Esposito now so I think it'll be Captn.

    I think the Captain and whoever they bring in will have a problem with Castle following Beckett and that will cause some tension.

    Has he been around since the beginning? I wouldn't mind it being him, since I always forget that they're together, but it doesn't seem like a big enough character.

    My guess is Martha, especially if her death is involved with the case.

    really? you're hoping it's not the title character? there's no way they'd kill off castle. The title characters are NEVER killed off. The premise of the show is about Castle working with NYPD. I seriously hope you aren't serious when you think there's any possibility he's the character that will die.

    Okay, death coming doesn't necessarily mean the series character could be murdered, just get killed off. I'm routing for Josh and Beckett to split up because Josh's career and desire to continue his work with DWB is more important to him then settling down. They call it quits painfully but amicably and he dies in a tragic small plane crash on landing--death, not murder.

    I honestly don't think its going to be anyone major at all. If you read the original post on TV Line, you will see that the word "character" is italicized. Castle is an author and I am thinking the "character" is going to be someone in his book.

    Plus, the cast works so well together that it would be one of the stupidest moves in the history of tv to kill off someone we actually care about. So my money is on either a character from Nikki Heat, or someone like Gina or the Mayor.... outsiders that have technically been there from the beginning, but would cause no great loss to the show. Hopefully at least, lol.

    I don't think we should all assume that the character will die. The spoiler may imply it, but it does not say it. It could just be someone leaving for some reason other than death.

    I think that may well be it. "Since the beginning" is the sort of clue that might enjoy throwing us re: Gina, just to mess with our minds. Or, could it be Meredith? She's in LA, and was in Season 1 from early episodes even if not actually in the pilot.

    No, it's 100% not him. The spoiler states quite specifically that the person has been there for the beginning, and Josh didn't show up until season three. :P

    One character's finale could mean a transfer... I don' want any of the regular cast to die... I could take a boyfriend or Beckett's father... but I wouldn't say that her father has been there since the beginning... I can't take the suspense. Maybe I'll have to skip it and catch it after reading about it... *gulp*.... I scared....

    Killing Gina could be a wicked revenge from the 3x killer. He kills someone Castle knows well (an ex wife and publisher) just to taunt Castle and to show he is still around and that next time he could kill someone even closer to Castle.
