Good for him, but, IMHO, this show's starting to have too many regulars. It feels like it's subtly changing from a "buddy cop show" into a "team show" and as much as I like team shows, I don't want to see WhiCo turn into that, there are enough team shows out there. Keep the focus on Peter and Neal, don't dilute it with side stories.
I do agree as well but it seemed a bit silly for Sharif to be just a guest star all this time. Even Natalie Morales a regular in the first season and Atkins was on screen just as much as she was.
If they make Jones a regular, maybe they can get him a plot to go with it. He surely can't be sit in the van guy for an entire season. He's criminally underused.
The most uninteresting character on the show is getting bumped to regular? If Marsha Thomason's Diana Barrigan doesn't also get "series regular" status this is officially an injustice.
I for one hope that he doesn't get a storyline of his own. He's great as he's now, supporting the leads. If the show had 20 or 22 eps like a normal network series, then I would be all for it. But with 16 eps, I would prefer to spend them on Peter and Neal, than on the supporting cast.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Yay! I love Jones.

ReplyDeleteYeah, I totally agree! I love support cast, but I watch for Peter&Neal.

ReplyDeleteMarsha Thomason has been a series regular since the beginning of S2. She's even in the opening credits.

ReplyDeleteMy god. I didn't even realize. She's used so little I didn't even consider that the show made her a regular.
ReplyDeleteThis means two things:
1. I'm blind as a bat.
2. They need to make better use of Marsha Thomason.
