I think Alan Ball (or whoever is behind HBO marketing) feels the large majority of people have either read the books or know people that have that give them spoilers. So every year he releases snippets like this that are book based... and then he leaves his own personal TV series twists to be revealed on the series. GREAT marketing idea.
Well, most viewers are going to find out eventually; even the ones who have not read the books (through the internet or through friends who have read). So, they are protecting the storylines that the writers of the show have created (the ones that deviate from the source material) by showing promos that include stories that are already out there. I think it's a good marketing technique and maybe even The Walking Dead guys should try that.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Is it just me, or is this too spoiler-y?
ReplyDeleteholly fuck i did not see this one coming !
ReplyDeleteAs far as I know that's a story-line from the books.
