Thanks to SuePo for the heads up.

Winchesters Gone Wild! | Jensen Ackles got his cowboy on when Supernatural transported Dean and Sam to the Old West for an upcoming episode. “The guys find a formula to battle Eve, the mother of all monsters, but the problem is the only record of this formula ever existing happened over a 100 years ago,” Ackles previews. “So they call upon their angel friends to give them a time-travel experience.” The excursion fit like a glove, says Ackles, who like Dean is wild about Westerns. “I sent a picture to my father [from this episode], and he wrote back, ‘You’ve been rehearsing this scene since you were six.’” Hopefully he rehearsed it well, because Supernatural pulled out all the stops. “I get to have, like, a high noon shootout, we get to see a hanging…,” says Ackles. “We packed a lot into a 42-minute episode. It’s really good.”

  1. Sounds like Jensen really enjoyed shooting this episode.

  2. This 'formula' thing sounds interesting, wonder if it's Colt related as in what made the gun/bullets so special in the first place?

This episode sound chocked full of goodness. I'm looking forwards to finding out how Dean becomes sheriff, seeing Sam ride a horse and most of all Jared mentioned he had a really emotional monologue in this episode-I think he said it was like 8 pages of script long.

  3. Sounds like all Jensen's/Dean's dreams came true in one episode.

Samuel Colt made the gun, the bullets, and the ginormous devil's trap - not so surprising he's got a formula to battle Eve.

  4. I'm confused...Forumla?? What does that mean? Like a drug?

  5. I gotta believe that Dean was the hunter the Colt was originally made for. In Provenance it says Samuel Colt made 13 bullets for the gun. The hunter he created it for used 6 and disappeared. We know Dean is in a shootout and that gun always seemed made for him. Also wouldn't be surprised if they meet a Campbell ancestor and we find out the family name "Samuel" is related to Samuel Colt in some way. Bet the boys have some input in the giant devil's trap too. I cannot wait for this one. It is going to be epic!

  7. I've always thought there had to be a link between Samuel Colt and the boys, and that they helped build the devils trap, too.

  8. This makes a whole lot more sense than going for the Colt. It's definitely going to be interesting. So does formula mean potion? If so, why would they go to Samuel Colt? Was she walking around in the Old West too?

  9. That's what I thought! I've been wondering ever since I heard about this ep why in the heck they would have to go back to the old west for the Colt. As far as I can remember, they still have it, right? The last time we saw it was "Abandon All Hope" when Dean used it on Lucifer. Lucy whacked him into a tree, but we never saw where the Colt landed, so I assume (for once) he held on to it. :) Then I saw this and went "Hmm... that actually makes more sense." Whatever the 'formula' is, it seems to be something that can stop or hurt Eve, so they need it since they have 'no intel on ganking her.' I was already looking forward to this ep, and Jensen's obvious excitement makes me even more!

  10. I can buy that but I'm not sure. My thinking is that they go back to the day when Samuel has made the Colt, since they know the exact day. They trade stories of wasting evil and Samuel gives Dean the Colt to kill monsters. I'm not sure why he would need 6 bullets though since I thought this MotW was a ticked off ghost. They don't need the Colt to take down a ghost. In fact, the more I read about this episode, the less I understand. Can't wait to see it and find out the truth.

  11. I like that! It would be cool for the whole thing to come back around to the Winchesters. Having him be the actual Hunter Colt gave the gun to would be perfect symmetry. :)

  12. "You’ve been rehearsing this scene since you were six."

    LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  13. Awesome theory. :)

  14. I wonder what the formula is...a series of events? A potion like in Charmed? A math formula that Eve can't figure out and is frustrated to death? Whatever it is it seems like a good episode already.

  15. 66 seals to be broken? Oops, that's been done already.

  16. I've wanted this episode (well not exactly this one) but one with Samuel Colt in it ever since John Winchester told the story of the Colt in Season 1.

  17. I know right!! I absolutely love that line. I gushed. SO CUTE!!!

  18. but they found out how to make more bullets, so i guess its just about the gun..

  19. omg but if they helped build the devil trap... no this hurts my head I cant... cause they know how to do it cause they learned it... and then... they invente it... but they.. SHUTING UP NOW

  20. Hee hee - I just thought maybe they went back there before and had their memories 'windexed' . Like Ash said in Dark Side of the Moon - they'd been to heaven before but the angels wiped their memory of it - so it's possible. Maybe.

  21. Now, THIS is a great idea! I love that. Please SPN, make it be truth;)

  22. Hmm...seriously? Not very inventive. Well, but I bet the boys had fun.

  23. I think this may possibly be one of the best episodes of the season. Jensen is usually mum about whether he truly likes an episode. He'll talk about any episode and what he thinks will happen, but to say, "It's really good," is not something I've heard him say very often. Of course, it's his western, and he's wanted that forever. I think it's going to be great. There are so many little hints.

The formula sounds interesting. I wonder about it. So far, all we knew was they were going back to get the colt. Now, I wonder what the formula has to do with it. April can't here soon enough.
