Supernatural - Episode 6.14 - Mannequin 3: The Reckoning - Favorite Scene Poll

Mar 26, 2011

Another week gone in hiatus and April 15 seems a long way off but at least in sight. So. to pass the time, what was your favorite scene from tonight's Mannequin 3: The Reckoning? Vote below and if you don't see your favorite, leave it in the comments.

Results from last's poll (Unforgiven):

Sam's collapse and hell memory won overwhelmingly with over half the votes (196 votes).
Dean telling Sam he's not responsible for what RoboSam did was a very distant second (36 votes).

  1. So, my very unpopular opinion, is that this episode is Filler - Part 2. To me, the big difference between Unforgiven and Mannequin is which brother is wrapping up loose ends. Other than that, they were both humdrum, even boring. Good thing we have a repeat of The French Mistake to look forward to. And yes, I can't believe I just said that about a meta episode either.

Back to the point, Ben aiming that verbal arrow right into Dean's heart is my favorite scene. He was dead right and I'm glad he didn't pull punches. Creepiest part - Johnny's "girlfriend".

  2. I wanna vote for Ben too - he's a straight shooter that kid - so where's that option?
Dean and Lisa's talk was a waste of time really - they resolved nothing. Lisa doesn't want Dean back, back but she couldn't come right out and say it - take a lesson in communication from your son, Lisa. My heart breaks for Dean (again) that he can't have them in his life. It would be nice for him to take a break from all the crap for a while just occasionally.

    Other high points:
Sam waking up from his seizure. I felt sure he'd be out for a while, but it gave us a tiny insight into what his hell looked like. I don't want Sam to suffer but I really need to know more about that.
Sam and Dean talk about Sam's wall (I can't believe there was concern from some fans about Dean offering Sam painkillers. I mean??????) 'You shove it down, and you let it come out in spurts of violence and alcoholism.' Good advice from your big brother Sam (NOT)
Dean gets attacked by his 'Baby' - and apologises to her for making her crash. (I can't judge: I talk to inanimate objects too on occasion, just FYI)
Dean and Sam talk at the end. Sam telling Dean he's got his back and MEANING IT!

Thanks for this Dahne - I needed it - starting to actually feel a bit shaky from SPN withdrawal now, so any distraction gratefully accepted.

  3. deffinately the impala attacks
funny scene and for me the only memorable stand alone scene of the episode
i couldn't pick 1 creepy mannequin scene coz they were all super creepy

  4. Argh! I left off Ben - my favorite scene. Rectifying it now!

  5. I didn't get the feeling that Lisa didn't want Dean back but more like she couldn't take the indecision anymore. The ignoring her calls but suddenly showing up thing that Dean does. Of course, he only showed up because of Ben, but you know what I mean. He's not big on communicating either. I think they both need lessons from Ben.

I loved the Impala scene too. It's great when she gets a little action in the show. Of course, she needs to stop using her grill as a wrecking ball. The end talk was touching.

I don't get the fuss over the painkillers either. I always assumed they had a stash of fake prescriptions just like the fake ids and credit cards. It would seem a necessary part of hunting life. Can't exactly go to the hospital except for the really severe stuff.

    ReplyDelete
  6. I was fine until the last one and then it wasn't the mannequin that creeped me out. There is something severely wrong with Johnny..or should I say was.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Yeah that's kinda what I was trying to say (that nasty little hellatus herpe's affecting MY communication skills) Lisa knows that's how it would always be - waiting for that phone call from Sam. Knowing Dean will never learn to communicate effectively - so it's probably best for her and Dean to go their separate ways.....

    ReplyDelete
  8. The Impala. More to the point, Dean's outraged "I thought she only possessed sex dolls. She's not a sex doll. You leave my baby out of this!" Uh, Dean, honey, you do have an unhealthy fascination with your car. She's a sex doll. :)

I did like the scene with Dean and Ben. Yes, he's walking out on his family, but not because he wants to, but because he has to. He can't live in both worlds and he's a hunter. It just took him a while to accept that. I think Lisa would take him back in a heartbeat -- why else would she have called him six times? But she doesn't want him just part time and with Sam back, that's all she could have. She knows she has to move on, but how exactly do you move on from Dean Winchester? Poor girl. I feel really sorry for Doctor Matt. He has a tough act to follow.

I agree this one was filler, Dahne, but it had its moments. And despite what Ben's video game claims, Dean's right. Plants can't kill Zombies. :)

  9. The beginning and the end bro concern scenes were equally good; I had to pick one so I chose the Sam wakes from his Hell memory. The impala chasing Dean scene was cute, but the Hunt was weak, although resouled Sam was fully back in the saddle. I still don't like L&B so Dean's scenes with them were irritating to (re)watch. M3TR is on my bottom 3 for S6.

  10. I disagree about Unforgiven, but that's ok - I thought it was very well filmed and the black and white used in the flashbacks made Soulless Sam (and did -nothing -Sampa) even creepier to watch at "work" and (ahem) at play ;).

    ReplyDelete
  11. yeah, that was weird
i did not get that at all and i thought it was a really stupid way of getting a mannequin to kill him

    ReplyDelete
  12. I would have voted the banter between Sam and Dean about Dean molesting the dummy. Dean: "What are you accusing me of?" I thought the first few scenes were good and that line was funny. Everything went downhill after that.

    ReplyDelete
  13. My favorite scenes were with Lisa and Ben, but I got to say (don't kill me) it's because I DID like the whole Ben/Lisa storyline and I'm already mourning what I think is their imminent demise. I know some fans thought this whole relationship made Dean a wuss, but I'm OLDER, people, and I know it takes real guts to be a family man! I thought Dean was never sexier than in the opening montage from Exile on Main Street..well, some of humorous scenes in past seasons, too. I find a funny man really sexy. I was hoping against hope they'd somehow make this work. Unlike some others, I thought Dean did really love Lisa and Ben, and I thought Lisa was a good match for Dean. She could give him slack, she could stand up to him, she learned to SHOOT, for cryin' out loud! I feel badly for poor Cindy Sampson, who's been the subject of some really awful comments by some fans. (Heavy sigh) OK, I've said my peace. I know it's all just make-believe, but I mourn the death of this relationship and the upcoming end of the Braedens.

  14. I liked the part where the janitor dies. Reminds me of old-school Supernatural.

    ReplyDelete
  15. I respect your opinion, but I'm older too, and I don't like them, but it's not because I don't see value in family. I differentiate between TV entertainment and real life. Twisted, dysfunctional characters make for some of the best stories, and those characters become boring when they get sanatized because the audience wants them "fixed." (I know this wasn't directed at me personally, but I don't think I ever said anything awful about Cindy or Lisa, other than I want the character written off. I may have called Ben whiny during Mannequin though. ;-) ).

    ReplyDelete
  16. I don't feel Unforgiven was a filler at all, especially since Soulless Sam has been a huge part of this season and they allowed us to see into some of his summer antics with Gramps. Not only that, but we saw exactly what would happen to Sam if he scratched the wall. It might've been a monster of the week-type, but definitely not any type of filler. So not only did we get a tiny glimpse of what Soulless Sam did (which Gramps has stated the stuff he did pales in comparison if you remember, so this was just a small crack in the wall), but also saw our first glimpse into Sam's Hell. That makes it pretty much non-filler. This episode was pretty much a filler however, but not awful either. Unforgiven wasn't about wrapping up loose ends. Unforgiven was just a glimpse into what's to come for Sam. That's hardly wrapping up loose ends.

  17. Hi, Chris,
I seldom post, so I haven't seen your comments, so absolutely I wasn't addressing anybody on this site personally. And I also respect your opinion and see your point. And I'm not a soap opera fan, just saying...but I just liked this storyline. Probably people are right and to pursue it further would have brought the whole premise of the show down, but I still have a soft spot for the whole thing. I personally didn't find Ben whiny at all. He's supposed to be a preteen boy whose 'dad' is taking off. I've known a lot of boys of similar age and circumstance. Might sound whiny but when your 'parent' is deserting you, kids have some reason to be angry and 'whine'.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I'm wondering if we might find out what Sam saw in Hell during his week of memories. They brushed past that a little quickly in Mannequin, but I'd expect that we'll hear more about it before Sam's wall falls.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Hi there, we can agree to have different opinion on this one. I know a kid whining and acting out is realistic, but it wasn't something I cared to watch. The scene hit me the wrong way especially because I felt the breakup had already been dealt with in the beginning of the season. Nothing new was discovered or resolved.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Yeah they did brush past it a bit, but I think they did for a reason. From my understanding, and according to a few things Jared said during the Paley fest, Sam's going to be doing a lot of self-tormenting these last few episodes. Episode 22 is supposed to be Sam-centric and the wall is supposed to fall, so I'm guessing we're gonna see something.

According to Clif's Twitter yesterday, he said that it's only going to be Jared working for the next few days and they have 6 days left of shooting. I'm guessing that Jared working by himself will start on Monday, but it's just guess. Judging from that basis alone, I'm gathering we're gonna see some pretty serious Sam stuff.

I also recall Jim Beaver saying at Paley that we would be seeing more of Sam in this upcoming episode than we have seen of Sam in an episode ever. So, that's pretty much my hope is we'll be seeing more soulless stuff and stuff that happened to him in Hell or at least glimpses of it, and not just burning repeatedly.

  21. I watched this rerun at work last evening and it's not my fav episode, because I don't like Lisa with Dean. Seeing her only reminds me of domestic Dean....and this is not right! However I love Ben. He should be in the show more often. He's smart mouth and cute too....just like Dean. Dean with the manequinn is my fav scene cause I like how he's playfully having a staring match with it. And the camera got a great shot of his face/LIPS!....DELICIOUS!

    ReplyDelete
  22. The impala I guess....I found this episodes incredibly dull.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I agree, although I quite enjoyed Unforgiven.
I thought Mannequin 3 could have been so much better if they had made it creepier...

    ReplyDelete
  24. Absolutely we can have different opinions. I know the whole Lisa/Ben thing has two different camps with very strong opinions on both sides. Peace be with you, Chris.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I'm with you all the way. I love the idea of Lisa and Ben and enjoyed the storyline. And yes, I am older too. I was hoping that way in the future when Supernatural ends, Dean and Lisa would get together for good. that's why I'm not liking the spoilers I am hearing. I think Lisa is wise and the fact that she is not a hunter I think was good for Dean.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Again, I agree. I think that out of all of them, Ben is the least whiny. Dean and Sam take turns carrying the Whiner trophy and they have for years. That's why I like the Bobby smackdown in Weekend at Bobby's so much! Yes, they have ample reason to do so. Yes, they have been through a lot. Still, I cling to the "no chick flick" moments from the pilot as a very distant and yet bittersweet memory. More action, less emo for me.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I liked the security guard death better with him being impaled and the mannequin pieces all over. Classic!

    ReplyDelete
  28. I think what really hooked me was the scary action PLUS (big plus) the humor! A lot of the earlier episodes were just hilarious, even if they also had some angst. I don't mind angst, but it does seem to be a little heavy the last couple seasons.

    ReplyDelete
  29. (Sigh!) Thanks, Daphne! It's nice to know I'm not alone. Reallly I probably shouldn't have brought the age thing into it, maybe it doesn't really make a difference. I guess as I'm pretty far along in my life experiences, I sometimes see it does make a difference in perceptions. By the way, I'm (gulp) only slightly younger than Jim Beaver, so I probably get to take home the prize on this site....

    ReplyDelete
  30. A moment of silence in awe of Dean's lips, everybody.............(shhhh!)..............................................................................AMEN!

    ReplyDelete
  31. That should be creepy. I remember Dean talking about his time in hell, coming off the rack and torturing others....yipes... ...makes my hair stand up at the nape of my neck.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I want to know what person created a game in which plants kill zombies. Bwah! I think that's a hilarious idea. How does that even work?

I wouldn't say the Impala is a sex doll, more that she is sexy and way too awesome to be considered just a car. Dean does have an unusual fascination with keeping her beautiful, but can you blame him. ;-P

    ReplyDelete
  33. I totally hear you there. I remember that episode so well. I remember getting goosebumps the moment Dean started talking about what he did, but I also cried like a little baby in the end of that episode too. I remember looking at Sam and watching his expressions as Dean told him and I think it was Sam's expression that got me.

It was like this desperate need to comfort his brother, touch him, hug him, hold him, something and he couldn't because nothing could make any of that better at all ever. Such a powerful scene. I'm wondering how they'll do Sam's? Especially with him having two sets of memories. Soullessness and Hell.

    ReplyDelete
  34. We share similar interests because if an episode doesn't have humor, I am much less likely to love it. In fact, Supernatural's ability to mix action, humor, family, and horror in one episode is the reason it is appointment TV for me.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Hey, considering there are people on this site who voted that they were in their 70's/80's and Supernatural fans means you are a young un' around here. Well, at least in very good company with many of the rest of us. :-)

    ReplyDelete
  36. I think they'll have to do the 'flashes' of memory when you see just bits of action or events and then the effect these memories have on Sam. I think they'd need a lot more time to do it any other way. Probably flashes of Sam committing atrocities...not sure I want to see that. As for memories of hell, geez, how DO you depict the absolute worst torment, beyond imagination? I mean think of the horrible things people can do to other people and then think of something worse! Gack...I'm creeping myself out now.

    ReplyDelete
  37. It's a tie. I like worried!Dean when Sam is seizing and I also like Possessed!Metallicar and the end scene where Sam and Dean talk.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Oh, no! Does that mean I have to share the prize? No waaaaaay! (feet running, door slams)

    ReplyDelete
  39. I'm not a whole lot younger than Jim either, so you're definitely not alone.

I enjoy Ben because he still reminds me of a mini-Dean in that he doesn't take bulls**t from anybody - especially those he loves. And I sympathise with his feelings of powerlessness in his relationship with Dean.
I'll be sad to see the last of both Lisa and Ben - although if that means the difference between turning SPN into a soap then I can live with it. I enjoy the occasional chick flick moment but if they're ditching Lisa and Ben for good they need to get it over with.

One of the (many) things I love (and hate) about SPN is the way we have to watch the boys make heartbreaking choices. No other show demands the full range of feelings like SPN. I've laughed, cried, hated, loved, worried, argued, been exasperated and generally CARED more about this show than any other.

So. My very long winded way of saying 'you're not alone' :)

    ReplyDelete
  40. BWAAHHH! OK, lanasapphire, you've just made my favorite people on the internet list. So glad you joined us.

    ReplyDelete
  41. It's hard to watch this show and not get invested in the character's lives. I haven't heard of too many casual watchers of Supernatural. When I start talking about it, I either get people as excited as I am or blank stares.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I have trouble explaining it...so I get laughed at a lot.

    ReplyDelete
  43. It is hard to hear mini-horror movie with great family drama and laughs...on the CW ... without getting snickers and skeptical looks. Or at my age, with people actually shaking their head at you for watching teen fare.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Hmmm. Well, I assume it's a very small, EXCLUSIVE list, yes? Just kidding....back at 'ya, sistah!

    ReplyDelete
  45. I once made the mistake of saying what network it was on. The response I got? "Oh. so it's about spoiled rich kids with troubled relationships, right?" I couldn't get through to them anymore.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Thanks, Jillyanne! As for SPN, it really is a great show, ain't it? I have enjoyed a number of TV shows, but have never been so captivated by any other, and certainly not for so long. (And as my age indicates, I"ve had plenty of opportunity to watch plenty of shows...actually I was pretty loyal to The Mckey Mouse Club, too. Um. Those Hardy Boys). The main characters can be endearing, aggravating, chilling, fall-down funny...there's so many 'colors' to this show! I find myself trying to convert people to SPN all the time, and loyally watch reruns, even of the shows that aren't the cream of the crop.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Ok, not this is getting WEIRD. I was typing my reply to Jillyanne and yours popped up with some thoughts very like mine. Maybe we ARE separated at birth!

    ReplyDelete
  48. Let's just say it has grown bigger thanks to SpoilerTV.

    ReplyDelete
  49. My strategy since season 3 is to tell them everything about Supernatural except the network. I only say that when I know I have them hooked or they ask directly and I can't avoid it. Drat that annoying little netlet. Here's hoping for better shows with a new net head.

    ReplyDelete
  50. I told my mom when I was 5 that my brother and I were not related. If you also think Lucifer was the lamest main villain Supernatural has ever had, I'm checking my birth certificate again. :-P

    ReplyDelete
  51. There were actually three that I really liked. Dean's panic when he thought he had lost Sam again was so reminiscent of Season All Hell Breaks Loose. Dean and and Ben and Ben's telling Dean about family. It was something Dean needed to hear. The third was the Impala chasing Dean. I enjoyed that. I don't believe it was a filler, myself. As in every episode of Supernatural, there are extremely good ones you want to watch over and over, others that are important for tying up loose ends, and those that are stand alone and are usually very good. This one was a stand alone, but it was only for tying up some loose ends. It was a fair story, but not a bad, one really.

    ReplyDelete
  52. I'm just curious why you've said What Is and What Should Never Be is your favorite episode. I would have pegged you for liking an episode with a lot less emo and angst - maybe a pure monster hunt or humor episode, rather than an emotion-heavy character episode. I love the character episodes myself and really enjoyed that one, but I think we have different taste (just a guess here ;-). I'm starting to feel like the anti-Dahne.)

On a different note, what might make an interesting poll question someday is what type of episode people look forward to most - the character-driven eps, the funny ones, mythology-driven ones, old-school monster hunts, etc. This show offers a good variety and people seem to have strong options on what they like and don't like.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Good question. I am smack in the middle of my retro recap of the pilot but I think I will change gears. Expect a recap of What is and What Should Never Be tomorrow or Monday. I think I can explain a little better through that venue. However, I should clarify that I like character episodes, but not overly emotional episodes. Or maybe it's fairer to say that I like my emotion tempered with lots of humor and action. These brothers tug at my heartstrings just like everyone else and I still think that the scene with Dean crying over Sam's first death in AHBL2 is one of the best scenes they have ever shot. But it's the action and mytharc resolution that make AHBL2 one of my favorite episodes of all time more than the crying scene.

Faith is also one of my favorite episodes and it has some heavy duty heart string moments. I love the character reversal of Sam taking care of Dean and the monster was super cool. However, it was how the characters faced death and some supremely awesome guest stars that made that episode for me. So it's not that I hate character episodes; it's more how they portray those episodes. I'm all for character development, but not angst for angst's sake. And certainly not a whole year of it.

And now reading this, I realize this has the clarity of frosted mugs. Sorry!

    ReplyDelete
  54. OK, thanks for explaining. I been curious because emo and angst is a subject that seems to come up a lot. I'll look forward to reading the recap.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Well, I can tell you, I'm 22 and I still love Lisa, Ben and Dean the family guy. In fact, I think it's my favourite storyline of season 6. Somewhere between heaven, hell, lost souls, monsters, Lucifers and Mothers, there actually are those down to earth family dillemmas of the hunters. And I love that. Cause that's what SPN has always been about in the first place - family, emotions, devotion, choices between "normal" life and the cursed life of a hunter. And plus, I think it is really important for characters on a show to grow. Dean is older now, he's not that careless 26 year old anymore and it'd be pretty weird if all his experiences never changed him. I love the way he cares for Lisa and Ben and the way they care for him. they're a perfect family for him and I would be delighted if he could have his happy ending with them one day. And that walking out on your family line by Ben took me right back to the vibe of seasons 1 & 2.
Anyway, the Braedens saved the episode for me, so I'm voting for the montage - people can complain about it as much as they want, I liked it.

    ReplyDelete
  56. I'm with you Mia! Now we can form a committee!

    ReplyDelete
  57. Ok, my favorite scenes yes SCENES!,( ya know I can't choose if there is emotional drama between the guys and anybody)
    1. Dean and Sam car talk- these two have been telling me from the beginning it's ok NOT to be ok, just shove it down and let it out with bouts of alcoholism and violence(it's fantasy remmber) It really doesn't work in real life but darn it that it can't take away the misery for a few hours, till we catch our breath and gather strength to renew our efforts to fight for sanity.

    2. Ben/Dean/Lisa discourse- Dean needed to hear Ben's fear, that if his mother is dating then dean is out and Ben loves Dean as Dean loves Ben. I liked how Ben told him that they were family as well( not said but I implied) I think Dean got that point.I really felt that Lisa kinda put the ball in Dean's court and even though he drove away, to me that implied that nothing was resolved and there is wiggle room for later reunion. I like Lisa for Dean!

3.The impala attacks- I just like it when Dean babies my sexy beast only it's his "girl"( he doesn't know that it's a he)and talks baby talk. When myguy friends start talking to their cars I think they are so "adorable"!

    4. includes the rest of the drama between the guys.

5.Did not like anything to do with the mannequin or blow up doll, some men are just pathetically weird.

    ReplyDelete
  58. No No NO! they can't go their separate ways. Come on now! Think... would you give up Dean Winchester...Na uh! He's a hunter, you take him and love him like there is no tomorrow when you have him and you let him go when he needs to and if you get a call from Sam then... You know darn well it was better to love and be loved by that man than not at all. I love tragic romance(sp?)

Ok so that was pure fangirl and I'm not apologizing!

    ReplyDelete
  59. I cried as well...is that mourning??? Dean looked at her with love, longing and adoration, I liked his fantasy of her in that "dream root" ep. It showed that he dreamed of someone wanting him, desiring him and loving him. That broke my heart cuz he didn't have it. I want him to have that belonging to a woman, not just Sam. And I agree with you, Dean was never more sexy than when he was a loving and protective family man. Hotter than the hinges of hell he was!

    ReplyDelete
  60. I have just gotten my son hooked on Supernatural and when I told him I was a bit obssessive about the show ... he just smiled that sweet condescending smile and I could almost feel that pat on my head. I just smiled my best little girl smile and went on talking. Thank heavens my children know I didn't really grow up, And my grandchildren love it that their Nan is crazy fun.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Montage made me cry, so I liked it.

    ReplyDelete
  62. "Hotter than the hinges of hell"---awesome alliteration there, Tamberly! I shall add that
to my "Favorite Supernatural Figures of Speech", along with 'buckets of crazy'! I'm glad I'm not alone in wishing there could of been a happy ending for Lisa and Dean. 'Course we ain't gonna get one....sigh.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Preach it cuz I'm right there with you. I say they are together at the end.

    ReplyDelete
  64. You make me laugh! I agree that the Lisa and Dean thing is still unresolved. I'm going to hate it if the resolution is a dead body. Because I still want them together when the series ends and because we need to ix-nay the idea of Lisa and Ben haunting Dean in season 7. Either in his thoughts and overwhelming despair/guilt or as actual ghosts because you know this show would want to do that.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Well I'm glad that I can supply you with some amusement, I figure if I can't be useful may as well be funny! How could we make haunting Dean in season seven fan approved??? I think a demon or harpy devour them while dean tried to get back to them to protect them and then he is tormented with flashes of what could have been and wasn't and the only way to rid himself of haunting is to....

    ReplyDelete
  66. "Our" guys don't whine! They may complain, grumble and bitch. They make noices like The Impala...rumbles and grumbles. Dahne how can you say that?(pouty and shocked) Dean and Sam with their deep and manly voices that send shivers up and down my spine...Whine????? A whine would grate on my nerves, THEY have never grated on my nerves... I know you are trying to be objective and critical, But darn it woman find your darn Rose colored glasses and put them on for a few seconds and you will see that I am right! THEY don't whine!

    Ok... so they are cry babies. ;-}

    ReplyDelete
  67. It sounds like I will be needing tissue and a punching bag... cuz the bouts of alcoholism and violence aren't socially acceptable behavior for deep and abiding pain(Sam's) and separation anxiety(no Dean)

    ReplyDelete
  68. WRONG ! :D
Not a Samgirl at all - EOF (Equal Opportunity Fangirl).

I'd love for Dean and Lisa to be together. Really I would, but that's not how our show works. Like Dahne, maybe at the very end of the series they might be together. But I see where Lisa is coming from. Living in fear of that phone call from Sam would be exhausting. You or I could cope because we've 'lived' with Dean for nearly 6 years now. Lisa hasn't had the benefit of that.
But I keep thinking about what would happen if the writers wrote Dean and Lisa together now. There are so many out there who would totally HATE that, and I would have to leave my favorite website because I couldn't stand the bitching: a) from the Deangirls who don't want to share their fantasy man with Lisa.
and b) from those who would see Dean and Lisa together as a betrayal of everything SPN stands for.

So, yes I hope they don't get together (for now, anyway). I want them to but I hope they don't. There is more than enough for people to complain about as it is.

  69. Oh I'm pretty sure Dean will be in this episode, just that it's a Sam-centric episode so we will be seeing more of Sam in this episode than Dean. Dean's episode is supposed to be episode 21, the ep before this one. But I hear you on the tissues and punching bag.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Well, if by some miracle they don't die this season and Dean and Lisa get back together, I'll start my own site and anyone who complains about Dean and Lisa's relationship will get booted. :-P At least until I get sick of them, which I probably would. I only see them truly together at the end, if that.

  71. I'm sticking with whine. In fact, they both go in the Whiner Hall of Fame. They join book 5-Harry Potter and every single reluctant hero every written. I think all reluctant heroes should come with their own Bobby to tell them to stop whining like babies and get on with the job at hand. :-)

That said, I still love "our" brothers and their cry baby ways. They are vastly entertaining, sometimes even while they are whining.

And my rose colored glasses broke. They are in pieces around here somewhere, never to be used again. I'm a Supernatural fan. I know life doesn't come in a shade of pink.

  72. Re: #2. I like Lisa for Dean too! And I'm with you on Ben expressing fear and anger over his parent (which Dean had become) deserting him. That was real and appropriate. I disagree with people who have said this is acting out or whining. I understand they might see this another way, but this is actually a pretty healthy reaction of a kid in that situation, especially as his parents hadn't really terminated their relationship. He's at least talking about his feelings and trying to get answers to what he's confused about. The language(i.e. 'dick') might be a little dicey coming from a 10 year-old, but we know who he got that from! As I said before, I know plenty of kids in similar situations,so my heart goes out to Ben (although I know he's a fictional character).

  73. Wonder if he left his doll to his surviving buddies? Ewwww.

    ReplyDelete
  74. My oldest son did the same until I slipped him the DVDs last summer. He watched Seasons 1-4 and then waited impatiently until I got Season 5. He doesn't have time to watch during the original broadcasts, but he'll catch up on Season 6 this summer, I bet. My family keeps saying they'll but me life-size cardboard cutouts of Sam/Dean. I keep saying, "Where are they? I'm WAITING!"

    ReplyDelete
  75. Just FYI, there's a nice youtube on Dean and Lisa and the possible (sob) future. Just search for "Lisa and Dean; Maybe". Kind of a sappy tune, but if you'll miss Lisa/Dean it'll get you.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Hmm. I'm thinking that one over. In the meantime, if you want a Lisa/Dean video that will make you cry, go to youtube and search for "Lisa/Dean; Maybe". (Sniff, sniff) Someone (you?) said maybe Castiel will erase Lisa and Ben's memory of Dean. I think that might be the least painful way to go, and still leave open an itsy bitsy chance of a reunion in the eventual series finale. Although if it keeps going til the guys are 40 or something, that won't make any sense.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Just to clarify, the acting out was lying to Dean and pulling Dean away from what might have been a life-and-death situation (he knew Dean's job) because his mom was having a third date.

    ReplyDelete
  78. How did a poll about a "Sam centric" (see Episodes Titles thread) turn into a shipper thread? I'm gaining a new appreciation for the decision to kill off Jess in the pilot. This is why if one of the boys are ever in another relationship before the series ends, it needs to be one that can co-exist with hunting and doesn't require a lot of drama.

  79. :DDDD I already like that website ahahaha

  85. PWAHAHAH I'm with you but that montage *pukes all over* :D It was too cheesy for me. I dont do cheesy ahahah. But I liked the intention of it, if that makes sense? Maybe it was just the music... to sucky.

AH! I'm putting it in my today!supernatural!marathon!

  86. :( I was gonna say I didnt like the vid but then I started crying LOL! oh damn, I REALLY like Lisa. I would watch boring Dean living the life with them... ehhehe okay maybe not but argh, there is a way to make this work, it was great at the begining of the season.

I hate this feeling. If they die I'm not gonna get over it ahah. NOT

    ReplyDelete
  87. Hi, Chanelle, Seeing as you're in this camp, you might want to check out a youtube video. Search on it for "Lisa/Dean; Maybe". Bring your Kleenex!

    ReplyDelete
  88. Easy, Chanelle, I think it was just speculation with people wondering how the "conclusion" to the relationships would be worked out. I guess I'd rather have that than bodies. Breathe deep, Sweetie, you're ok!

    ReplyDelete
  89. :D I did. And yeah, Kleenex were needed

    ReplyDelete
  90. I dont know what I'm doing on this site haaha! Spoilers freaks me out. tsktsktsk

  91. My dearest Jillyanne

My apologies for being wrong. Please forgive my error. I just thought the other night when we were dividing up the guys you got Sam and well... But Hey! I'm with you... EOF

Ya know you guys are going to shake up my VERY HUMBLE OPINIONS here, I'm not sure I like having my eyes opened this wide. I love rose colored glasses denial and avoidence. Ya'll are bound and determined for me to wake from my haze of delicious delusions.

Gracious people... be kind to the emo/angst loving, delightful and ever youthful "old" chick. Her children already think she's lost her marbles and is only days away from senility. So be gentle when making me see the bigger picture.

I still think they can write the relationship similar to romeo and juliet.

And Deanfangirls how can you fantasize about Dean loving you if you have never seen his face gaze upon a woman he loves and adores or seen the fiercness of Dean fighting to protect a love interest...besides we see a more tender and intense love scene, if it's someone hes deeply about... just saying

    ReplyDelete
  92. Dahne
Thank you that website... can we start it now?

I truely can see supernatural go for 10 seasons, but the end I want to see for Lisa and Dean is to go down fighting the hordes of hell, with their backs together with Sam, Bobby and Cas by their sides, slashing and hacking everthing in their path with fierce determination to fight to the death, together. And then as they realize the hopelessness of their efforts, they draw closer together and then you see their spirits walk off into the dawn of a new day.

Oh my! I got carried away in my vision. My bad!

    ReplyDelete
  93. Once again... I see your point... crap on a freakin stik!
I will learn Yoda I will I promise!

    ReplyDelete
  94. I was cracking up when Dean was running away from the ghost posessed Impala, so that was my fave scene of the ep. I also really liked when Sam woke up from his Hell flash. Dean's emotion right before Sam woke up had me very close to crying my little eyes out (I would have been bawling if Sam was out any longer, but a tear did fall at that pt). In addition, I liked when Sam was talking to Johnny when hes trying to save him. We could see how he was pissed for having to save a guy that was so mean to an innocent girl

    ReplyDelete
  95. Chanelle...I'm with you on this one darling!

LIsa and Ben's memory being erased would be catastrophic for me...

to see the pain and heartache spread across Dean's face...

to see the regrettable and crushed look on Cas' ...

and then see Sam's reaction to his brother loss and grief...

well I would plumment into a deep state of depression only to be raised out of it by Jared and Jensen telling me.everytrhing will be alright.

Yup I'm too attached, too emotionally involved...

Girl if anything like this happens I'll be there by your side to commiserate(sp?) with you

    ReplyDelete
  96. My 14 yr old granddaughter told me she would get me a poster to put on the ceiling above my bed, cuz she has one of Rob Pattinson above her bed. I don't think her mother thiught it was too appropriate...
Do you think we could come up with a good enough sob story to get one of those floor to ceiling banners they have at the conferences?

    Just thinkin'

    ReplyDelete
  97. *HUGS* We'll do a crying/chocolate night together lol if that happens :DDD I like ice cream too even if thats so cliché ahhaha

    ReplyDelete
  98. I think I'm going to watch 'What is and What Should Never be" so atleast I can share a mildly objective opinion, and with minimal fangirl emo drama with our gracious and very insightful hostess, Dahne
I have 4 daughters and 6 granddaughters but I still get crowned Drama queen of the family. I think I may be expecting alot from myself.

Us drama queens need to stick together and be strong... ;D :D

    ReplyDelete
  99. :DDD I watched it 2 hours ago :DDD Now I'm watching every lisa episode ahaha

    ReplyDelete
  100. Well, I would say that the turn towards talking about Lisa and Dean came because the episode was at least in part about Lisa and Dean. Makes sense to me. If people were talking about this in last week's episode, then it would be odd. :-)

    ReplyDelete
  101. 'My dearest Jillyanne' lol :D

    My dearest tamberly

I was doing the only thing possible in the circumstances - being a EOF means sharing the love and sharing the boys. :) (There's nothing weird or kinky about sharing fictional characters........is there?)

So sorry to shake up your humble opinions ...... it's so great to discuss with someone who has a different opinion and know they don't want to scratch your eyes out for disagreeing. ........er........you DON"T want to scratch my eyes out for disagreeing......do you?

And the great thing about SpoilerTV is our lovely community who only occasionally become slightly over zealous in expressing their humble opinion........

It's great to discuss different opinions but I would NEVER expect to change yours just because I don't agree. That's one of my few issues here on Spoiler ..... when people can't just express and let go.....

So feel free to want Dean and Lisa's relationship to continue...... :)

    ReplyDelete
  102. I dunno, a good enough sob story would probably have to mean stretching the truth to the point where it'd be illegal...maybe we can be a special interest group that they pay attention to...how about Grammie to Adopt the Winchester Orphans? I'd make those poor babies all the apple pie they want! (heh, heh)

    ReplyDelete
  103. OOps, sorry, I meant GrammieS to Adopt the Winchester Orphans..I'm sure we'd have a large group of us...we could rotate custody!

    ReplyDelete
  104. I'm pretty sure Pidgeon is Yoda around here. I sometimes come off as Emperor Palpatine, given that I express less than popular opinions. Er, but I do it openly so maybe that doesn't fit either. Um, I guess I'll have to be the red shirt that Darth Vader kills when he doesn't like the answer the guy gives. That might be appropriate. :-P

    ReplyDelete
  105. Dearest Jillyanne
It definitely is NOT weird or kinky to share fictional characters!!!! Nothing of the sort... :)

And I would never scratch your eyes out, silly girl...beside I just finished chewing all my nails off after watching that darn ep that makes me cry... I do that when I'm upset

My opinions really don't change but others perspectives give me a wider view of that big picture of Supernatural.

Mine is of a... slightly more narrow focus... of things that shall remain unmentioned here at this time...

    ReplyDelete
  106. Just being a... no no no not a Grammie! I gotta go with Nan, but I see that it may not have the same appeal... Ya know... we could just bribe somebody... we ARE a charming and HARMLESS lot... I think both those actors are suseptible to a grandmothers tears and even pleadings

I'm not above that... nope not me!

    ReplyDelete
  107. I think I've ruined your site here... I tend to digress so easily... further and further away with each post so...

I agree that this ep felt and appeared as a filler... in as much as it filled in some character development and realignment, but those darn mannequins were filler of the worst crap... some of these last eps feel like we are biding time... I don't like that.

And after having a marathon blitze of S01 and S02... I'm missing that good old hunt

    ReplyDelete
  108. The corny 80's music in reference to the 80's movie. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  109. You can watch mine too if you want :)

    ReplyDelete
  110. Thanks. I'm completely creeped out now.

    ReplyDelete
  111. No apologies. This is the most fun thread I've been in all week. It certainly helps hiatus pass much more quickly than the ratings threads I've been on. Those get nasty. (but sometimes make me snicker)

    ReplyDelete
  112. What is yours? Would you post a link?

    ReplyDelete
  113. Sorry,Dahne! Sometimes my sense of humor is a bit twisted.

    ReplyDelete
  114. I think we'd have to disguise ourselves as 'harmless' grandmothers. I have a feeling neither of us looks like a Little Red Riding Hood grandma. Don't feel like one either, or I guess I wouldn't be on this site!

    ReplyDelete
  115. Sorry, Chris. I don't usually post so I'm not clear on all the etiquette. I guess I was just having some laughs with people who seemed to share my feelings and maybe my sense of humor.

    ReplyDelete
  116. My fault... My favorite scene were all the ones with Dean, Lisa and Ben. And as I've said I digress and get distracted easily. I encouraged this l little "shipper thread" with drama, passion and total disregard for the poll...my bad... No apologies... Just enjoying the like minded. :)

    ReplyDelete
  117. Sorry. My comment was rude. I don't know why I was in such a foul mood this weekend. I'm not usually like this. I had a negative experience with shipper threads on some other boards for another show, but these comments were fine. Post away on whatever you want to talk about and ignore the grumpy critics.

    ReplyDelete
  118. As I just posted to Tamberly, I apologize for the tone. I think the etiquette around here is to take the thread where ever you want to take it, and your comments were fine. Again, sorry for my earlier post.

    ReplyDelete
  119. Just for the record, I am really happy they killed off Jess too. Hey! That's the first time my opinion wasn't the opposite. Maybe we do share some opinions. :-)

    ReplyDelete
  120. At first it annoyed me that SPN would terminate every potential new relationship in the first episode the woman was introduced. But now I'm starting to get it. I've seen shipper communities take on a life of their own and become such a force that they seemed to drove part of the plot and changed the nature of the show (Lost), or just make the show ridiculous (Grey's).

I started watching SPN late so I wasn't around in the online communities for Bela or Ruby, but it hit me recently how wise it was of SPN of not letting these shipper movements take root by killing them early. Nothing against Lisa, but her and Dean's relationship doesn't fit with the show, and it should have been terminated for good earlier this season. The relationship was terminated in my mind with the call, but fans were complaining that it needed more closure. They got more closure with mannequins, and fans want even more closure, or a reboot of the relationship. Sorry, but I now think they need to kill Lisa to correct the wrong in letting this get this far. It's like Dean having to go back and kill the kid in Appointment in Samarra. It needed to be done to restore the natural order.

I'm rethinking my original comment that a relationship might work if there is no added drama. Now I'm joining the "no serious relationships, period!" group.

    ReplyDelete
  121. Chris... Just as I said no apologies... Just taking some ownership for the detour... As I took no offense at your remarks... All is good. Though I'm sorry you are having a bad mood... Hug a winchester ;)

    ReplyDelete
  122. You should have been around for the introduction of the Roadhouse. Talk about a fandom in uproar. Except the exact opposite happened. The non-shippers completely blasted a Jo-Dean romance out of the water and had such an ugly reaction that TPTB essentially wrote the character out and torched the Roadhouse in order to calm down the fans. Even back then the SPN fandom was a force to be reckoned with.

And I was on the non-Jo side. Sorry folks who loved her character but she was far too young acting for Dean. She seemed like his younger sister in those early episodes.

The funniest fan war at the time though was between those that thought Dean should be with Jo vs. those that thought he should be with Ellen. It was like the Maury Povich show listening to them.

    ReplyDelete
  123. No problem, Chris.

    ReplyDelete
  124. Funny, but as I said in the other post, I started this show with season 5, and the first I saw of Jo was in Abandon All Hope. When Dean was later with Lisa I was thinking, they should have matched him up with Jo. They seemed like they had good chemistry! Of course Jo looked older then.

    ReplyDelete
  125. The beginning of the episode when Sam wakes up from the hell memory was my favorite scene. It just makes me wonder what is in store for us by the end of the season with Sam and his memories of hell and being in the cage for so long. It will be awesome and heartbreaking all at the same time!
