-Ratings Breakdown:
Despite airing a night of all repeats, CBS still managed to lead the Tuesday overnight troops, with a 1.4 rating point advantage over second-place Fox. But the home of Glee, no doubt, will dominate among key adults 18-49. In the distant No. 3 spot was NBC, followed by ABC and lowly The CW. Keep in mind that 54 percent of the line-up last night was encore telecasts.
Aforementioned Glee on Fox won the 8 p.m. hour in the overnights, with an 8.8 rating/14 share. Comparably, that beat the encore telecast of CBS’ competing NCIS (#2: 8.4/13) by five percent. Glee’s advantage among adults 18-49 will, of course, be significantly stronger.
Fox, as usual, deteriorated in the 9 p.m. hour with its combination of Raising Hope (#3: 4.5/ 7) and recent entry Traffic Light (#4: 2.9/ 5), which is no better than former occupant Running Wilde. If quality was the benchmark, Raising Hope would be an “A+” option, but retention out of the 8:30 p.m. portion of Glee last night (8.8/14) was lacking at 51 percent. More viewers need to discover Raising Hope.
CBS aired repeats of NCIS: Los Angeles (#1: 8.5/13), which completely held its encore NCIS lead-in, and older-skewing The Good Wife (#1: 5.8/10) from 9-11 p.m.
Over at NBC, two more hours of demo friendly The Biggest Loser scored a typical 5.1/ 8 in the overnights from 8-10 p.m., with the half-hour breakdown as follows:
The Biggest Loser (NBC)
8:00 p.m.: 4.8/ 8 (#3)
8:30 p.m.: 4.7/ 7 (#3)
9:00 p.m.: 5.1/ 8 (#2)
9:30 p.m.: 5.7/ 9 (#2)
That led into a repeat of Parenthood with a very last-place 2.2/ 4 at 10 p.m. With so many other time period holes for NBC to worry about, Parenthood could ultimately return next season. So, do not rule it out…yet.
On ABC, a repeat of struggling No Ordinary Family did not gain any new eyeballs, with a fourth-place 2.7/ 5 in the overnights at 8 p.m. That led into on-the-fence sophomore V (#4: 3.6/ 6 at 9 p.m.), which is not expected back next season, and soon-to-exit Detroit 1-8-7 (#2: 3.6/ 6 at 10 p.m.), which is expected to be officially canceled. As a reminder, upcoming crime solver Body of Proof steps into the 10 p.m. hour on March 29.
Last, and very least, was The CW’s encore combination of One Tree Hill (0.8/ 1) and Hellcats (0.7/ 1).

I hate this guy comments!
ReplyDeleteAt least this guy likes Raising Hope, and he's definitely right, more viewers should discover it.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure V will be back, no matter what he says. Detroit 187 is getting cancelled, No Ordinary Family is getting cancelled, Off the Map too, My Generation and The Whole Truth didn't last long this season... many new dramas failed, so I think V has a shot of getting renewed. Besides, even if it's far from perfect, it's more ambitious than the others and a long time ago I read the writers had a 4 season plan or something, so ABC should trust them.
V Is actully holding up well.CBS's juggernaut with nielson viewers and the Fox Glee lead tuesday. It Has good numbers with 18-49 demo.No ordinary Family Is terrable lead In.It Is even worse as repeat.
ReplyDeleteWhile Detroit 1-8-7 did narrolly Improve On V's overall viewers It had terrable 18-49 Demo.I believe V has shot at third season of 10-12 episodes. Now V had a four season plan.If they gave them a third full
season then they could complete their series plan.
If a repeat of NOF gets about 100k less viewers than a regular episode, doesn't it stand to reason that the following episode will be viewed by more people? Say 6ish?
ReplyDeleteJust a shot in the dark, but it seems quite odd.....then again, Traffic Light got 7 mill last week....ah, the Israeli version is better anyway
Yes, V drop is not so terrible. Especially with no promos, and monsters ratings like Biggest Looser, Raising Hope and NCIS LA. And still the best on ABC tuesday nights on 18-49 share! I WANT A THIRD SEASON!
ReplyDeleteABC need a whole new Tuesday line-up and it would not surprise me if they did just that come Fall.
ReplyDeleteYou mean V cancelled or what?
ReplyDeleteI want V Season 3, damn it!

ReplyDeleteLast and very least WOW omg LOL! how to hurt the fans even more. its a repeat.
ReplyDeleteANY way what is that about no more V? Every show on ABC seem to suck in ratings they can't canceled them allllll right?
They had better not cancel Parenthood.
ReplyDeletePlease ABC renew V! We want this third season!
