Question of the Day - Which Season Finale are you most looking forward to?

16 Mar 2011

Today's Question of the Day comes from Isaac who asks

"
Many shows are ready to wrap up production on the current season. Scripted shows are now on their 17th/18th episode which are airing/have aired and out of (the usual) 24 episodes so this only leaves us around 6 episodes down till the 'finale week'

Even though May sweeps doesn't start for another month or so (and finale week is two months away) and spoilers on the ending of the seasons haven't quite hit the spoiler sites which is your most highly anticipated season finale and what do you hope for the characters?

(To be more to the point *now you have no spoilers on the finale of your favourite shows. What show are you looking most forward to the finale of this season?*)

For me, it's Grey's Anatomy. This season has been good especially after the shooting and how they have set the season up. But I'm always curious about what this year's finale is going to be like. Look at the track record of season finale's Grey's has had. Denny dying, Cristina's wedding, House of Candles, Izzie and George coding, the shooting... talk about raising high bars. I'm always curious about what Shonda has in store for us to come back next season.

"

I both LOVE and DREAD season finale time. The episodes are nearly always great but you fear for some characters as there is nearly always the risk of death and some cliffhanger to keep you waiting. The downside is that it means that we go into the dreaded "hiatus" phase and in some cases we don't even know if our show(s) are even coming back.

So, as for me the finale that I'm most looking forward to is Fringe. I can't wait to see what cliffhanger they will leave us with and what will happen to the two universes.

So what about you, which Season Finale are you most looking forward and what would you like to see happen?

  3. For me is Fringe and Supernatural, and also Chuck.

  4. Community. Josh Holloway must be great doing comedy. Also, Supernatural has always great finales.

  5. I don't think any finale on GA can top last season's finale now. It's my favorite episode!

Looking forward to Supernatural, Bones, Chuck, How I Met Your Mother, and Cougar Town!

  6. FRINGE + SPN.

I just have no idea how much these are going to hurt to watch...FRINGE might not be back, and SPN has already confirmed the cliffhanger will be as awful as possible :O

  7. The Smallville freakin' series finale! Gonna be legendary. And the Supernatural finale too.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Bones and Fringe(hoping it won't be a series finale)

    ReplyDelete
  9. Vampire Diaries :) I really hope Klaus is going to kill sb very important to the show. But not Damon of course

  10. V (on DVR!), Fringe and Stargate Universe.

  11. Definitely Fringe. Wondering what they will conjure up this time. However, Grey's Anatomy also. If they are gonna end this season with a bang like last year then it's gonna be another memorable episode.

Supernatural, too. Last season was a bit downhill and I was scared that it will lead to its downfall. Unfortunately no, and this season went a tad uphill. I'm looking forward to resolving the plot with the Mother.

And, surprisingly, The Vampire Diaries, which second season is top-notch stuff.

  12. That has to be Smallville...
Usually i'd say Fringe or Superntural but since Smallville is taking its last bow and since i just can't wait for the finale, that's my pick

    ReplyDelete
  13. Supernatural, Chuck and vampire diaries as well, but looking forward to Smallville the most.

    ReplyDelete
  14. totally agree with you. Most looking forward to Fringe and SPN too. Really don't want to think about it could be the last episode for Fringe, that show can explore so many other storylines in my opinion, would hate to see it go.

And now I know Kripke is writing the script for the season finale of SPN, I am extra-anxious, who will be killed off this time?

  15. Chuck.I was going to say smallville as well but the show has become the new The Young and the Restless

    ReplyDelete
  16. Bones, look at the actual relationship between Booth and Bones, the center is broken, and what about the Hodgela baby??

    ReplyDelete
  17. How I Met Your Mother, Chuck, Californication and Gossip Girl

    ReplyDelete
  18. Supernatural, definitely. Even though White Collar has already aired theirs (and is now working on the 3rd season already), it was excellent and left me wanting me for next season. Good thing the show returns in June because then the wait is not that long!

  19. Game of thrones... because I it is the show that i am most waiting for in general.

Assuming that does not count... Fringe. This arc has really grabbed me and I want to know how it turns out. Sure, their are personal character stories I am interested in, but mostly it is the doomsday device and universes being destroyed... or joined or who knows!

Also interested in Series finale of Smallville, and I have been archiving Justified so it does not enter into my thinking just yet.

I would have to go with One Tree Hill. It's the series finale (most certainly) and I'm really looking forward to what happens to everybody especially Brooke!

But I also look forward to NCIS, Parenthood, Brothers&Sisters, Private Practice and 30 Rock!

  26. Fringe -- Will Peter (B.) discover that Fauxlivia is pregnant?
Community -- Will it be animated? I'd like that.
The Good Wife -- Will Peter (F) win the election? Will Peter and Alicia be a couple again?
The Event -- Wait, they can't have a finale so soon. They just started.
The Chicago Code -- Will the actors finally get the Chicago accent right? LOL! Okay, and will the alderman screw things up for the precinct?

  27. For me Grey's Anatomy, Chuck, Fringe, The Vampire Diaries and The Mentalist.

    ReplyDelete

  29. Fringe and the series finale of Smallville...

    ReplyDelete
  30. Pretty Little Liars because its on in 5 days and I'm psyched to see how the events of the season unfold in the end...and I really wanna know who A is, if Ian killed Alison, and what Jenna has to do with everything. Im also really psyched for the Supernatural season finale, even though its not until the end of May. After reading all the spoilers and watching videos from Paleyfest, I just wanna see (and know) whats gonna happen with everything.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Fringe! Disappointed it won't be 2 hours long, but I hear the last three episodes are all connected. So excited to see how the writers will top the switch and the Twin Towers from previous finales.

    ReplyDelete
  32. This is tough for me to answer because I would automatically say HOUSE!!! But.... they've got him in such an awful downward spiral that there's just so many horrific things they can come up with to do to him that I don't know if I really want to see lol.

CSI NY: hoping it's not a series finale

    ReplyDelete
  33. Fringe, Criminal Minds, and sadly yes still...The Event. in that order respectively.

    ReplyDelete
  34. that guy is the true master of angst, just thinking about the season finale now makes me anxious, and excited. Is it the 20th of May yet?!

    ReplyDelete
  35. Fringe, Criminal Minds, Raising Hope

    ReplyDelete
  36. Fringe of course! I have lost interest in every other show. Fringe became an addiction! :D

    ReplyDelete
  37. Detto. It makes you have so high expectations that everything else seems lame and boring next to it. FRINGE, why did you have to ruin all my other shows for me???

    ReplyDelete
  38. i love liars story but we wont know who A is till their final season so has to b fringe and justified, 2 of the best shows ever on tv :D

    ReplyDelete
  39. All my shows besides Chuck are over for the time being. So I only have Chuck to go through.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Fringe And Bones!
    Bones And Fringe!

    ReplyDelete
  41. Fringe because its been stellar this season and can't to see where it'll lead to next.
Supernatural to see Sam's wall break down.
Community for the 2-part paintball game with Sawyer guest starring.

and even though it's the Series Finale, it is still the finale of a season...
Smallville to watch Clark become Superman and the real Lex Luthor to return!

    ReplyDelete
  42. I think it's time for Jimmy to just come out with it, "Miranda, I love you." Right?

    ReplyDelete
  43. In no particular order,

    Castle
    Bones
    Fringe
    Smallville
    Chuck

    ReplyDelete
  44. I rarely ever look forward to finales that much because it's the beginning of a long hiatus. However, I am looking forward to the Smallville series finale.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Supernatural of course.

There are so many loose ends to this season's story line, and I know they're too brilliant to try and wrap all of them up in the season finale - unless they are even more brilliant than I thought (if that's possible). So the finale will be outrageously mind blowing and leave us with the most epic cliff-hanger in SPN history - so yeah, I'm a tiny bit excited about the S6 finale. :)

And already awaiting a truly stupendous S7.

I think that's enough superlatives for the week. :P

    ReplyDelete
  46. seriously! then next season will be, who will she choose? laughs.. such a cute show. loved all the 'her hips are too tiny' jokes last night

    ReplyDelete

  49. Crusade, oh that was cancelled! FRINGE!

    ReplyDelete
  50. Fringe! The cliffhangers have been unbelievable so far in this show. I can't wait to see what they do for the third one!

    ReplyDelete
