Welcome to the Final Question of the Day for this Week. Today's question comes from Pete17 who asks
"How did you find SpoilerTV?"
From Pete17
"SpoilerTV is now probably my favorite TV Website and I found this Forum Post which I thought would make a good question. Hope you can post it."
Great question Pete.
I agree, SpoilerTV is my favorite site as well, but I'm a little biased as I'm a contributor here!
I found SpoilerTV back when it first started. I was a huge fan of the DarkUFO site, which was my "go-to" site for all things Lost. When DarkUFO announced that they would be creating a spoiler site for all other TV shows I was instantly excited. Since then I've been actively visiting the site and then last year thought I'd give something back by contributing this regular "Question of the Day" column.
So what about you? How did you find SpoilerTV? What was your first involvement with it? Sound off in the comments your memories of first finding the site and how you came about it. (I've also created a little poll below which was based on the Forum Poll)
Have a great weekend everyone.
And please keep submitting your Questions of the Day Below using the form.
You can see previous Questions of the Day here.

I can't really remember how I found Spoiler TV. I think it was possibly via SpoilerFix, because I was looking for spoilers and they were pretty crappy at it. I think they might have linked to here? Either way, I've stuck around since!
ReplyDeleteOh yes, I remember spoilerfix. The site seems to have died now :(
ReplyDeleteThey used to be quite good but I guess technology caught up with them as they never posted photos, promos or sneak peeks
That's so long ago. I think it was a link in the forum of supernatural.tv. I'm a lurker at heart and have been reading spoilers on this site for 2 or more years. But only since the Best Show contest I've been commenting regularly.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing Claudia. Glad that, like me, you came out of lurkdom :)
ReplyDeleteIt was definitely via DarkUFO. I started using DarkUFO during LOST's fourth season. I didn't actually start using SpoilerTV regularly until the hiatus between Season 5 and Season 6 left me needing more television to bide the time.
ReplyDeleteI think I found DarkUFO via digg? No it was via Doc Arzt's blog! I remember looking for a LOST blog to follow and, after spending a bit of time on Lostpedia and Doc Arzt, I discovered that DarkUFO was by far the most often updated and easiest to peruse. The theories section really drew me in. I created a twitter account for the sole purpose of following DarkUFO lol.
I couldn't resist. Talking with so many people about their favorite shows was simply too much fun to miss it.
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome Cadence. I did exactly the same for my twitter account. Now I use it to automatically post all the SpoilerTV contents as well as my own stuff.
ReplyDeleteI found it through Spoilerfix =)
ReplyDeleteSearching for heroes spoilers, and realised how awesome this site was for other shows as well.
ReplyDeleteLooks like Spoilerfix was a good place for future SpoilerTV'ers
ReplyDeleteGlad you found it.
ReplyDeleteTo be honest, I can't remember. It's probably through Fringe fansites. I do know I was looking for promo images. I use it to now to decide what to watch on any given night.
ReplyDeletetvblog.ro - romanian tv website
ReplyDeleteCool. Nice to see so many non-usa people on the site
ReplyDeleteLooking for Supernatural stuff.
ReplyDeleteThrough the Search Engine and I'm glad I found it. It really helps find out what's going on.
ReplyDeleteHope you've found a good home now :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Keith, can you remember what you searched for :)
ReplyDeleteCool, it's great to see so many different ways that people found the site.
ReplyDeleteActually, this site is one of my favorite ones, because of course, you can read all the spoilers about your series, and all the news :D but you can also share and talk with the other fans, that's really good ! :)
ReplyDeleteActually, I like another website ( a French one ) about Fringe only, and they were always writing "I read on SpoilerTV that ....." So one day, I said " that sounds good" I searched on Google and discovered it :P Now I can't spend a day without posting comments, or talking to other fans, or reading spoilers LOL
I <3 SpoilerTV
Oh yes, it is :D
ReplyDeleteSame for me! Found it via a Fringe fan French site
ReplyDeleteThat's great to hear. That's one of the reasons I love it as well. I really do enjoy reading all the comments and insights.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your story.
:) I love to share with the other fans of my favorite shows, I think that's a really good thing! I also love to read comments; that's a good way to share :D
ReplyDeleteThrough Dark UFO.
ReplyDeleteI found Dark UFO through trawling the Lost boards during season two and he was always the most reliable one for spoilers so naturally checked out his site and favourited it
Same here :)
ReplyDeleteI started watching LOST late and by the time I had caught up, it was straight after 'I Do' and so there was about 4 months to wait before 'Not In Portland' came on. Having had such a big dose of LOST for so long I decided to hunt around and see where were good online places to chat about the show and DarkUFO won by a long way.
ReplyDeleteI was addicted to the site way before 'Not In Portland' aired anyhow.
Was good to get involved before the whole 'Will Charlie Die' bit as I remember when Andy posted up all of the pictures of people to die in the finale like Friendly and Charlie and I thought wow, nothing can be more spoiled in the finale than this...
I was wrong :P
Hey Adam, thanks for sharing. Yep, I loved those photo spoilers and the Hangman games.
ReplyDeleteThey were good times.
*sniff* misses Lost so much.
Wow. The Hangman Games. I'd totally forgotten about them. It'd be fun to do some more of them over here.
ReplyDeleteI miss LOST. To think this time last year we were all about half way through the final season, we still had more new LOST to watch. haha
I'll ask dark if he has any good spoilers that would be good for a hangman game.
ReplyDeleteArgh! Don't remind me about Lost
That was a while ago I can barely remember. I just stumbled onto it when I was hunting down a spoiler site and Spoiler TV showed up. :)
ReplyDeleteWhen I started really getting into Supernatural, I wanted to find spoilers. I did a search on google and it brought me here
ReplyDeleteIt was a long time ago now. I'm guessing it was probably a Google search for something.
ReplyDeleteLooking for Lost spoilers on Google and found DarkUFO.
ReplyDeleteHa, not a problem :)
ReplyDeleteGlad you found it and decided to stay :)
ReplyDeleteLOL, it sounds like your memory is as good as mine!
ReplyDeleteI think that's how most people found DarkUFO. Glad you came over to this side as well.
ReplyDeleteI can't really remember properly, it's too long ago now. Just looked at past emails and forum posts to help me figure things out because I decided it would be interesting to figure it out! Back in early 2006 I joined the Lost Media forum mainly to chat about spoilers, from there I regularly used to go to SpoilerFix and DarkUFO (I'm from the UK so when season 1 finished that's when I needed to catch up and start reading spoilers). I soon didn't have time/couldn't be bothered about the discussion side of things so gave up on the forum (it was all just "who's going to die" anyway) so I just read the spoiler websites. I'm pretty sure I then started reading spoilertv around when it started and then stayed here never really going to DarkUFO again as I got the info I needed about Lost here along with other shows. Since everything was on one site I didn't need to go to others any more and that is still the case now, don't go to any other spoiler websites, just occasionally look at stuff on twitter as it can get there first especially in the case of set reports.
ReplyDeleteThanks for Sharing jenny :)
ReplyDeleteHonestly, I back doored in and did not realize what I had found.... at first. I was looking for some promo pics or posters of Fringe (I think?) and had used a Google image search. I was looking for HiRes sizes of what did not have and clicked on a pic. Usually I just collected my photo and left whatever site, but I saw in the background behind the photo there was a discussion on something (I forget now).
ReplyDeleteBeing nosy and opinionated, I looked over it and it was then I discovered what the site was exactly. I went to the home page and surfed around. I think it was a day or three later when there was some "Best Show" poll, and I could not stop myself from commenting... or maybe it was replying to someone knowing me. Soon thereafter the notorious debate on "favorite" versus "best" definition war was started by *ahem* .....someone.... and the rest is history....
Cool story!
ReplyDeleteI remember those Fav vs best discussions lol
I used to go on that site to get promo pics! :) I may need to check it out again....
ReplyDeleteLooking for information about Fringe. I'd come across by accident that the ratings weren't the best this season. I guess that was late fall last year. It would be good to hear season 4 will go ahead.
ReplyDeleteFound it from DarkUFO, which I found from DocArzt, thetailsection, and Spoilerfix.
ReplyDeleteAlways loved Lost, but obsession happened about a year ago, thus I discovered the ABC Lost site. Somehow during that time I stumbled upon DarkUFO, maybe in summer? I would check in with DarkUFO every day and lurked until early fall. At first, I didn't realize that SpoilerTV was a separate site, but eventually I noticed that when I clicked on certain items in the View Updates box, I would be directed to SpoilerTV. Now I open DarkUFO first (to look for Lost news), and then click on SpoilerTV on the header.
ReplyDeleteI honestly can't remember but im really glad i did :))
ReplyDeleteFrom a link on FanForum ( http://www.fanforum.com/ ).
ReplyDeleteI came for the Supernatural vs NCIS best show competition and never left. A great site - I've sicne dropped some TV shows I used to pass the time and am on here instead.
ReplyDeletei googled "bones spoilers" and this site was the most legit looking one on the first page
ReplyDeleteHa cool, glad we looked legit
ReplyDeleteFringe forum :)
ReplyDeleteWell, I can blame Supernatural's hellatus for finding Spoilertv... I searched through ew.com and spoilerfix.com for spoilers for a couple years, then one day I resorted to googling spoilers for I think the 4th season of SPN (I think it was later in the season)...or it could've been right before season 5, it's hard to remember ...
ReplyDeletei found this site during the supernatural vs. lost round of the best show ever movie comp last year and i have been on every day since
ReplyDeletei love everything about this site
especially its rabid supernatural fanbase (including me)
Pretty simple, got here from Dark's site which I'd been using for years.
ReplyDeleteThat was YOU? Oh yes, I do remember ;)
ReplyDeleteYes! The community. I love us. We're smart and funny and nice!
ReplyDeleteAs a huge supernatural fan, the supernatural wiki had some links to spoilers and voila, I'm here. I was enchanted and became addicted. :)
ReplyDeleteI though I was reading my story! It was EXACTLY the same for me,do you believe it? :)
ReplyDeleteI was a huge lost fan,so I accidentaly found darkUFO,wasted a LOT of time getting immersed in every spoiler and poll possible, and when lost ended,I started searching sneak peaks for Supernatural and Fringe, through the links in the Lost site. And here I am now, totally addicted to Spoiler Tv! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm a Dark UFO class of late 08 alum.
ReplyDeleteYeah I did my share of nutty theories during the 5th season, and especially during the 5-6 hiatus. I remember some of the heated arguments some of us would get into over the dumbest things. It was great! I'll bet Dark had me and many of the people I always associated with flagged for checking. I got into my share of internet battles in the big ALT vs. WHH gangwar.
ReplyDeleteI didn't do it alone... I had help, but..... guilty.
ReplyDeleteI remember looking for LOST stuff....Found the DarkUFO site......then i think i found SpoilerTV through that site....or was it GOOGLE....... screw it.....it's AWESOME!!!!
ReplyDeletei'm very glad i did too! i owe some of my favourite shows to this website.
ReplyDeleteLol! Too true. I was a huge WHH supporter (and we won :P), but the comic-con videos almost convinced me that ALT was actually the winner. Obviously, it took all of season 6 for WHH to be proven correct, but all of those debates were epic!
ReplyDeleteI found SpoilerTV through Google, I believe. I had only just started getting obsessed with certain shows and I discovered this wonderful thing called television spoilers online :) I believe it was about a year and a half, two years ago, although I only started posting on here last year because I'm a lurky individual, myself.
ReplyDeletethanks to llegaronparaquedarse
