Eliza Dushku could be returning to television -- in a role some might find surprising for the actress who made a name for herself on sci-fi dramas.

Dushku Mar. 23, via her Facebook page, that she's been cast in a comedy pilot for CBS.

"It is with insanest excitement & awesomeness I get to finally fill you guys in," she writes. "I've JUST landed a new CBS comedy pilot w/ my comic idol Mr. Damon Wayans! Stay tuned, there is a serious happy dance occurring at the moment ;) xx!"

    I realize she's probably excited to be employed, but I think Dushku is laying it on a bit thick with the term "comic idol." I'm not sure Homey the Clown, Major Payne, and Blankman elevates one to comic idol status.

    I love her and I will watch for sure if it goes to series!!!!!! but she wasnt that good on the big bang theory!! I wonder if she will be good in this!!

    The comedy is called - HERD MENTALITY

    A comedy, inspired by the life of ESPN personality colin cowherd, set behind the scenes of a sports radio show

    "Herd Mentality" must be an early working title because the trades are all reporting the project as untitled.

    That's the funniest thing I've read today- just ahead of the Dexter/CSI: Miami crossover episode to kill off Horatio... and it's so true. People toss around the words epic. idol, best and love far too easily!

    id have rather seen her in the new pilot with sarah michelle gellar coz i think they work well together but sayin that she is one hell of an actress! i love her and ill watch her n anything but i think she performs best i kick-ass roles
