I kind of feel the same way... why does it have to be either or (and or)?
I will watch all three I think. I love fantasy adventure series or historical dramas... even if the history in Game of Thrones is not of our earth exactly.
I'm not entirely certain. Perhaps Game of Thrones, but I'm not really that excited about it.
I've never read the books, but I did wiki them and got caught up on the events within an hour. It feels more like High Fantasy Drama than High Fantasy Adventure, and I'm getting tired of those. I want a series that will entertain me, not depress me.
Yeah... I will be watching Camelot and GoT. The Borgias...? Heh. Maaaaaybe. I'm not that huge a fan of historical TV shows. I have a feeling my parents will love that one though!
Yes it airs in Canada. It airs on HBO Canada at the exact same time as it does in the states. 9:00 - 10:00 (ish, it runs a bit over time) on Sunday nights. That shouldn't conflict with anything (assuming you have HBO).
I think High Fantasy Drama is a pretty accurate term for Game of Thrones... you're right.
If you get attached to characters, or don't like main characters struggling... GoT may not be for you. George RR Martin has a penchant for killing off main characters to make a point that no one is safe in attempt to build real drama for the reader (or the watcher in the series' case).
I have seen Camelot and The Borgias pilot episodes and I think you may like Camelot more. It seems to be more action and adventure... more fun than the other two. I think the reviewer in the article is right on comparing The Tudors to The Borgias... so if you liked The Tudors, The Borgias may be for you too.
All three! They're not in anyway related to each other in terms of story so why make a choice. Camelot I'll watch because British history/lore has always enthralled me. Game of Thrones I've started reading and enjoy the fantasy world w/out over use of magic, and The Borgias looks entertaining as hell, plus its casting looks amazing!
Camelot is by far the best show out of the 3. The pilots for Borigias and GoT were soooo boring that I was turned away almost completely. I tried watching both for the next week, but GoT beat Borgias by a landslide. I still think GoT is slow and pretty much going into a nowhere final. Camelot has the magic, evil plot, and epic scope. GoT is too much of a drama in a series that was advertised as an epic and brutal story. So far, I've seen nothing new there.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
No magic (unless you count how Romans in Hollywood always magically sound British)
ReplyDeleteThat made me laugh!
The lack of Latin is really disappointing. Lol
ReplyDeleteI have to pick one? I will watch Games of Thrones and 'Camelot' because I have a weak spot for King Arthhur.

I'm probably gonna watch all three.
ReplyDeleteOne of each please. The more shows out there that aren't "reality TV" the better. Bring on the epic storytelling.

Both, equally. I can't get enough epic television.
ReplyDeleteGame of Thrones if it airs up in Canada and doesn't conflict with any of my regular shows.
ReplyDeleteLOL! Loved some of the category comments!

ReplyDeleteI will watch all three, but am BY FAR THE MOST EXCITED ABOUT GoT YEAAAHHHHH!

2 weeks, 6 days, 19 hours, 35 minutes and 30 seconds...

I'll just be watching them all.
ReplyDeleteStarz is out of my budget for now, so I'll watch the Borgias.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the advice. I'll keep that in mind. :)
