I honestly did not like either house Targaryen casting choice when I first saw them (I thought they were too old and just off), but seeing the footage of various clips.... they have really grown on me. Why did I doubt the HBO casting directors? Silly me....
ReplyDeleteI wasn't convinced by Emilia Clarke initially, but I thought that Hsarry Lloyd was spot on for Viserys. He has just the right amount of crazy eyes for the character. I have also warmed to Emilia Clarke and am very much looking forward to seeing her as Danaerys. My only concern is actually Jason Mamoa as Khal Drogo. It's not that I don't think he can do it... I'm just worried that he'll speak Dothraki unconvincingly.
ReplyDeleteYeah he is not known for his acting skills.... I don't think I have ever heard him do accents or... well speak much at all. :) When I heard he was cast I thought PHYSICALLY he was perfect but had the same concerns.
ReplyDeleteYeah... He isn't the best of actors. He's a very casual guy. Based on his portrayal of Ronan on SGA, I imagine that he's similar to his character in many ways. I wonder how that's going to translate into foreign Barbarian War Lord. He's also starring in Conan! He must be decent lol, right?
