Fringe - Snippets from NYPOST

Thanks to FringeWatch for sending us the following..

We've met BOlivia, Walternate and Alt-strid "over there," but now we're about to confront a doppelganger on our home turf as as actor Seth Gabel brings Lincoln, his alternate universe character, to the world fans have been following since season one.

What shall we dub him: FLincoln? BLincoln? Nixon (he would be the presidential opposite, no?)

This all goes down in "Stowaway" (airing March 18), an episode that sees the team investigating a killer that attaches herself to suicidal victims, which leads Olivia to channel William Bell (hence the labcoat).

The arrival of Lincoln's doppelganger is something actress Jasika Nicole teased when she chatted with PopWrap back in January, saying, "you're going to start seeing alternate people in our universe for the first time. It’s going to start happening the other way around pretty soon."

And in true "Fringe" fashion, the future has arrived faster than expected.

  1. HOLY- WE WERE RIGHT.

Fringe fans are the best. For real. Who else could have guessed that Olivia would become William Bell?

  2. Sounds very interesting! But it will be harder to come up with names for some!

Until now we have thought as every person 'over here' in our universe as the prime and given nicknames to their alternates in the Red universe 'over there'. Now will we see their Lincoln Lee as the original and ours as the alternate? And if we see our version of cab driver Henry, is he the alternate since we met "there's" first? I think for naming purposes all of "our" people should be primary with theirs being alternates, but I can see logic for the first seen character keeps their name and the doppleganger is the alternate no matter where they are from.

Lincoln is a tough one to nickname... Linc and Blinc? Just call one Lincoln and one Lee? Lee and Bee - or Lincoln Bee? None roll off the tongue for me personally.

Much like Astrid. Some I know call theirs Bstrid, but that doesn't sound right to me. I kind of like Astrid and theirs is Asptrid (since it seems like she has Asperger's Syndrome), but that seems a little forced too.

  4. I'm eager to see that episode and the new universe :D

  5. My guess would be this is the episode where Bell returns. Undoubtedly he will show up in Nimoy form at the very end of the episode after 'leaving Olivia.' Should be a blast :P

  7. olivia channeling william bell!!!!! omg! i already feel inclined to make it my favourite episode! lol. it could be awesome!!!!!

  8. O'Henry is pretty good really and like ou said the "O'" prefix could be attached to any of "our" alternates first seen 'over there'.... I love it in theory... some just sound better than others. I like O'Henry more than O'Lincoln, but both could work if no others come up...

  10. Guess I`m the only one NOT exited about it. One thing is doing crazy science stuff in a sci-fi show. But I hate when any sci-fi show turns into doing crazy things based on faith and that kind of crap. I love Fringe `cause it`s about characters and it has tons of crazy science stuff but this idea about Olivia channeling Bell is too much for me.

But I really hope that writers find their way to make it believable. I`m just saying that this idea is too much for me. I trust these guys that they can pull it off, but it can raise many questions. What if Olivia was able to channel our Peter (the dead one) - this could mean that they can bring him back to life right? This could mean that everyone who`s dead could be brought back to life. Or Bell is somehow unique and he`s the only one who will come back `cause... we`ll see.

  11. I agree about Fringe being so science based, part of the reason I love it too! I do understand your concerns, but I think their concept of channeling William Bell may not be too different than seeing the last vision a dead person's eye saw before the died, or reading brain waves to get images. I think the writers will pull it off and make you a believer again! :)

Our lincoln, would be the alt b/c we met the other one first. Same with Henry. I think it'll just end up being something like OurLincoln or OurHenry. Ive mainly heard Alt-astrid

  14. But your examples were that science crazy stuff...but this channeling stuff...it makes Olivia kind of psychic don`t you think? And being a psychics is not being a scientist or FBI agent.

    ReplyDelete
  15. But this is Fringe science after all, and psychic ability fits into that pseudo-science category very well. I'm not sure if it will be so black and white as to say it is psychic ability. I would not be surprised to see if Olivia's cortexiphan enhancements played a role in this.

  16. I can't wait for this episode! It sounds especially Fringe-y and I'm looking forward to those moments in the lab between Walter and Bell (via Olivia). I love the dynamic between them!

    ReplyDelete
  17. depends on how she became "psychic", perhaps in some scientific way

    ReplyDelete
  18. I doubt they will do it in a "hocus pocus" kind of magic channeling way like a medium will do. I could be wrong though.... have to wait and see.

  19. I hope he makes some sort of an appearance. I'm so looking forward to seeing how Anna interprets his character and what mannerisms she will adopt. It will be brilliant, I'm sure!

  20. I know that cortexiphan will play a big part in it, but still...

  21. I know what you mean. I choose a diplomatic solution :-D: Let`s see how it turns out :-D

  22. yep, but I meant later when we'll see the new universe ;)

  23. I don't think Olivia would suddenly just become possessed by William Bell, this is fringe - where incredibly imaginative things happen through scientific advancement. There was the whole Walter believes in God thing in White Tulip (though in the end it was a scientist who manipulated time to send him the sign of the white tulip, not God) and what William Bell believed about soul magnets, but I think Fringe will do a much better job than some shows (ahem LOST) at having an awesome scientific explanation for the phenomena that takes place. (IMO, that makes the explanation much more interesting than if it were based on faith alone.)The greatest part about fringe science is that it follows real scientific knowledge and theories fairly well most of the time.

  24. I'm excited about this episode for two reasons:

    1 - Olivia as Belly
2 - Gene the cow (Fringe needs more Gene)

    ReplyDelete
  25. Can someone please explain to me where you guys got this idea and what it means that Olivia is going to become Bell?

  26. Sure thing:
