Update: 16:30 Full FOX Press Release
FOX RENEWS “FRINGE” FOR FOURTH SEASON – IN BOTH UNIVERSES
FOX has renewed critically acclaimed thrilling drama FRINGE for a fourth season, it was announced today by Kevin Reilly, President, Entertainment for Fox Broadcasting Company.
“FRINGE has truly hit a creative stride and has distinguished itself as one of television’s most original programs. The series’ ingenious producers, amazingly talented cast and crew, as well as some of the most passionate and loyal fans on the planet, made this fourth-season pickup possible,” said Reilly. “When we moved the show to Fridays, we asked the fans to follow and they did. We’re thrilled to bring it back for another full season and keep it part of the FOX family.”
FRINGE co-creator and executive producer J.J. Abrams said, “We could not be happier that the fans of FRINGE (and our most excellent partners at FOX) have allowed us to continue telling stories from the fringe for another season!”
“This early pickup comes at a perfect time as we start production on the Season Three finale,” added FRINGE showrunners and executive producers Jeff Pinkner and J.H. Wyman. “We join the cast and crew in thanking our loyal fans and FOX for allowing us to have this much fun telling stories we love.”
Since moving to Fridays (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) in January, FRINGE is averaging a 2.2/7 among Adults 18-49 and has established itself as Friday’s No. 1 series in the core adult demographic.
The compelling third season continues tonight, Friday, March 25 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT), on FOX. In the “Bloodline” episode, the intensity of life “over there” accelerates as a pregnant OLIVIA (Anna Torv) is kidnapped and finds herself in mortal danger. As the Fringe Division races against time to find her, agent LINCOLN LEE (guest star Seth Gabel) receives some heartbreaking news as WALTER (John Noble) stops at nothing to preserve the new branch of the Bishop family tree.
Created by J.J. Abrams & Alex Kurtzman & Roberto Orci, FRINGE is produced by Bad Robot Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television. Abrams, Bryan Burk, Jeff Pinkner, J.H. Wyman and Joe Chappelle serve as executive producers, while Kurtzman, Orci and Akiva Goldsman are consulting producers. Additionally, Pinkner and Wyman serve as the series’ showrunners. Become a fan of the series on Facebook at www.facebook.com/fringe and follow the series on Twitter at www.twitter.com/fringeonfox (@fringeonfox).

All the cast and crew did it!!!! FRINGE DID IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI know I know me too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteYES!!!!!!!!! not renewing fringe would have been such a big mistake, it is the best show in tv right now, the guys at fox know that, even if it doesnt have all the viewrs it should have its so well done, well acted, best visual effects, everything is good about that show, i like watching shows like glee and Greys anatomy but i most admit while they may be entertaining and i really enjoy them if i have to stand from a more critic point of view the characters on those shows many times are unrealistic and exagerated to an extreme, and then we have a show like fringe where everything is suppose to be fictional and we have some great and totaly real and believable characters i love that about them.
ReplyDelete;iosk nzdh enadfegklvswfk/ljzxwk/lthjk/ Sorry I just had a premature woopsie, let me try again.

ReplyDeleteNext up, worry more about Chuck :(
Well, that's nice news to wake up to. :-) Now as soon as SPN is renewed for season 7, my TV life shall be complete!
ReplyDeleteOh Happy Days! :D
ReplyDeletethis is what ive been waiting for :D
ReplyDeletesuch brilliant news. hopefully next years ratings will pick up!
ditto! :)
ReplyDeleteThat' s the best news I've heard in this entire week, or longer! YAY!
ReplyDeleteI am literally shaking and crying... Thank God!
ReplyDeleteI wonder if this means Fox has shitty pilots for next season lol
ReplyDeleteAnyway im genuinely happy, i love Fringe :)
I just wake up and I see this. Great way to start the day.
ReplyDeleteIt's not just a renewal : it's an early renewal (more than one and a half month before the Upfronts) and it's a full pickup of 22 episodes, not a 13 episodes season. Yay.
I honestly never doubted this renewal. All interviews from FOX executives seemed pretty clear, they like the show and even if it's not a hit on Fridays, it's good enough.
Futhermore, after seeing the Fringe Friday Death Slot trailer (with all the worried quotes from newspapers) 2 months ago, I was convinced they couldn't cancel it at the end of the season.
That's awesome news! Now let's make people watch this show!
ReplyDeleteYay So glad for you all.
ReplyDeleteI watched the pilot the other day and I'm wondering if I should go on. It's a gorgeously made show not to mention rather creepy in spots. Can anyone tell me different?
Haha classic I like that. :)
ReplyDeleteROFL classic.
ReplyDeleteSix eps left right? or less, oh bother I forget how many episodes we did have this season.
ReplyDeleteWay to kill the mood dude.
ReplyDeletePLAYAA PLAYYYYAAAA!!! IT IS INDEED A GOOD DAY!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeletei really wasn't around until the end of S1. Then I couldn't look away anymore. I've been hooked ever since :)
ReplyDeleteThe first episode I watched was The Box, second episode of this the 3rd season. I liked it so I rented the first two seasons from the library (?) and marathoned for a few weeks to catch up. I'm a Fringie now.
ReplyDeleteThanks guys. If my curiosity gets too hot to handle I might just do that. :)
ReplyDeleteLol, DON'T FEED THE TROLL.
ReplyDeleteThe good thing about being the owner of the site is that I can ban silly people like him with the click on button. :)
ReplyDeleteHoly crap, they picked it up for a full 22 episodes :O! I think we can safely say that our days of FOX bashing really ought to end. They messed up Firefly. We'll never forgive them. Other than that, they gave Dollhouse a second season (which aired to the worst ratings ever), but they let it play out. Fringe has been given a FULL season 4. Whatever happens next, FOX is NOT the terrible network we all like to claim it is. They've done as much as they can and more to support Fringe. So yay us :D. Let's reward them by continuing to watch!
ReplyDeleteNow, please fans...Watch it live!!!
ReplyDeletenothing matters anymore. My life's complete :D
ReplyDeleteexactly what i did after watching the Pilot. Never a fan of dark bloody creepy show but i fell for Fringe. Very interesting story and casts!!!!
ReplyDeleteawww when you're done crying, get ready for tonight's episode!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteSo happy to hear that Fringe is going to have there 4 season! Yeah!!!!!!
ReplyDelete:'D The best news I've had all year!
ReplyDeleteI will be very interested to know how it tastes! That is too funny. :D
ReplyDeleteJust got home and checked in to see if there was any news. Thank you Fox!! Now after tonight's episode I know I'll be able to sleep. (If I'm still not too excited) This is the best news in a long long time.
ReplyDeleteFRINGE: REANIMATED
ReplyDeleteI think it's a safe bet that Fringe is gonna be the Most Popular Show here next week. AGAIN. LOL
ReplyDeleteAmazing. :D
ReplyDelete"Since moving to Fridays (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) in January, FRINGE is averaging a 2.2/7 among Adults 18-49 and has established itself as Friday’s No. 1 series in the core adult demographic."
ReplyDeleteI believe this false. Last week they had a 1.4/5
I was right!!! Walter is the one behind the kidnapping!! woot woot!! "as walter stops at nothing to preserve thenew branch of the Bishop family tree"
ReplyDeleteMy theory: Walternate is behind the kidnapping because he wants to make sure that babyBishop makes it to term despite the family history of Faux's where the mother and child dies in childbirth (ex. Rachel/Ella on their side)
I was write, new bet: MamaFaux is in on it.
Yeah around the halfway point of season 1 for me it just exploded. Although if you think even in season 1 that it's merely a procedural, you haven't been paying attention well enough...because they hide things in the show that are still popping up in season 3... It starts off pretty cool, and then by the time the gigantic last scene of the 1st finale ends, you'll be like "W.T.F?" xD
ReplyDeleteThey said average :)
ReplyDeleteI've been thinking this for months now...Even if they hadn't renewed it, I wouldn't have held it against FOX because they really did allow it to stay even though it's probably really expensive and has such awfully low ratings...
ReplyDeleteWell, it's funny cause they are incorporating the ratings from the Thursday airings as well (Back when it was above 2.0... which wasn't that long ago--that scares me!) anyway, that keeps its season avg above all the other shows...unless it turns around next season and picks back up, it won't have those Thursday viewings to prop it up against CSI:NY...That is a bigggggggg issue. We gotta get the ratings stabilized, or it's possible the 22 episode order will be shaved down to 13 episodes (it happened to Medium this season and I think Lie to Me as well...)
ReplyDeleteThis is seriously the best news I've heard in a long time :) So happy.
ReplyDeleteI agree completely. I probably wouldn't have FOX bashed even if it had been canceled, but now, even if S4 is the last one, I hope that Fringe fans remember the S4 renewal and FOX's devotion to us.
ReplyDeleteI cannot express the happiness I feel now... I was getting ready to see off the show as I was sure it will not be renewed and to see it renewed and for a full 22-season at that... It's a great achievement for the show and for the serialized shows on networks as a whole...
ReplyDeleteI had noticed that as well. The average had seemed a bit high to me. Dark, do you know if FOX may be factoring the DVR numbers as well? If not, I think it'll be great when the networks factor those numbers in as well. The networks and ad companies need to learn that I'm paying the same amount of attention to ads whether I watch it live or recorded. If I'm watching it live then I flip back and forth between channels until the commercials are over therefore only catching a glimpse of whatever product they may be advertising. If I watch it recorded, then I catch a glimpse of whatever product because I'm fast-forwarding and watching to make sure I don't go past the commercial break. Heck, if anything, it's best for the ad companies if we watch it on Hulu because you can't skip the ads there. =)
ReplyDeleteI'm sure they are using whatever gives them the "best numbers" :) They
ReplyDeletealways spin the numbers upwards
Thanks. And good luck with Chuck.
ReplyDeleteI actually read this last night, but I've been so excited that I didn't sleep well last night... I cannot wait to see what they come up with for season 4! This has made my entire week! Nice way to end it! *Hopefully in the Fall when it comes back on, I can start watching since I'll be in my new job and won't have to work nights anymore...*
ReplyDeleteYES, YES, YES, YES, YES, YES, YES, YES, YES, YES, YES, YES, YES, YES
ReplyDeleteand THANK YOU FOX
....
now to make me happy all i need is ABC to renew V :D
thanks for the info
Thanks DarkUFO! We appreciate it, though I doubt anything or anyone could take our joy away at this point!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteIt makes me so happy to see all the fans around the world come together to celebrate such good news. It just fills my heart so full, we are all a big family!! It's nice to be a part of that family! GO FRINGE!!!!!
ReplyDeleteOh this is excellent news, well done Fringe.
ReplyDeleteGreat news! ¡Bravo!!
ReplyDeletethis is the best news I've had in a long time!
ReplyDeleteThat's How I did it Season two. Libraries are awesome. $1 for two weeks. Was able to watch season 1 two times before I had to take it back, and just in time for the next season 2 ep.!
ReplyDeleteSo I dont think I can get any happier when I see this and I look down the comments to see Futurama has been renewed as well!!! BEST DAY EVER!!!
ReplyDeleteYEAH! So happy right now!
ReplyDeleteThe 4th point you mention says it all!
ReplyDeleteYou're so powerful Lol
ReplyDeleteHa lol
ReplyDeleteCongrats Fringe! I never thought the show would get renewed before Supernatural. Lol I wonder if WB reduced the license fee...
ReplyDeleteDarkUFO, as posted further down, my Fringe friend and I really made baconberry frosting. We would like to post a picture of proof that we did. We can even give you the recipe. But be warned: EAT AT YOUR OWN RISK! So how do we upload a picture?
ReplyDeleteWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! a fourth season for FRINGE :D :D :D :D :D :D I can't wait to see it :P
ReplyDeleteI was wrong, they are incorporating the DVR+7 ratings.
ReplyDeletethis is one of the best shows compared with lost
ReplyDelete
