A while ago this tweet appeared and has been spreading around the internet. It's from one of the several sources who post Set Photos from Vancouver.
But before everyone starts panicking too much, remember that Fringe is currently wrapping up filming of Season 3 so it could be just that they are packing up for the Season. Or simply that they will not be filming in Vancouver any more. As soon as we hear anything from FOX officially I'll be sure to up.
I've sent FOX and email but they have yet to get back to us.
Thanks to Jim for the heads up.

I love fringe. This would be a bit painful. But I'd rather recieve the news that it was cancelled as early as possible, than be wondering for months...
ReplyDeletePlease, FOX, don't.
ReplyDeleteJosh said yesterday on the radio that they haven't gotten the script for the last episode so they haven't filmed the last episode yet so could they really be packing up when they haven't finished yet?
ReplyDeleteFringe cancellation will be an epic fail for FOX!
ReplyDeleteI would seriously cry if Fringe was canceled. It's such a smart and inventive show. The problem is that most of the population of America don't understand smart shows, can't grasp intricate plot lines and don't want to, quite frankly, THINK about what they're watching. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised at all if FOX did cancel the series, because they're short-sighted half the time - just look at Dollhouse and Firefly...
ReplyDeleteI'm scared now!
ReplyDeleteYeah, Jasika Nicole is on podcast and said that they just got the script for the finale...
ReplyDeleteI wanna cry now. Fox need to hear us, go to twitter and make noise.
ReplyDeleteEveryone should BOMBARD @maskedscheduler with questions on Twitter. We deserve answers.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, this guy who tweeted this rumor is a Teamster in the Vancouver area. He's sometimes right about Fringe production matters, but not always.
They're just wrapping for the season
ReplyDeleteThey're just wrapping for the season
They're just wrapping for the season.
I said it three times, so it must be true.
IT CAN'T HAPPEN. Fringe is one the best series of all times, cancel it would be a HUGE mistake.
ReplyDeleteAnd I would die, of course.
Please not Fringe, please not Fringe.
ReplyDelete(that is all I have been repeating for the last 10 minutes)
Don't panic based on this rumor! (You can panic over ratings but not this!) There's 1000 reasons other than they were cancelled. They haven't even started shooting the finale. Maybe they need the containers to move some props, er, like a giant doomsday machine, to another location for shooting. I'm just making that up - no spoilers here - but, seriously, there are just as many plausible reasons as implausible ones.
ReplyDeletelol this doesn't affect me at all...
ReplyDeleteHowever...
The 1.3 rating Friday's episode got, has me in the fetal position. O_O
Jasika Nicole was JUST on a live podcast (which ended at 5 pm) and she said they hadn't even gotten the script for the season finale yet. So, something is kind of weird here. I'd wait for more information before flying off the handle.
ReplyDeleteactually she said that she DID get the script.
ReplyDeleteAlso, maybe someone should look into the possibility that the stage is about to be used for the new JJ Abrams series Alcatraz which got greenlighted for 12 episodes.
ReplyDeleteShe said she got the script late last night. Which explains why JJ said he didn't have it yesterday when he did his interview. She also said the script was somewhat open-ended which she thought **might** be a good sign. On the other hand, she cautioned that you can't read too much into anything the script has or doesn't have because there can always be rewrites that come along. So...wait and see.
ReplyDeleteThe point is, they haven't even filmed episode 22...
I'm gonna kill myself right now !
ReplyDeleteI'm sure there's nothing to worry about. Maybe it's just parts of the set that are being deconstructed, because some things just can't stay up for nothing for 3 months or because they simply won't need it anymore for the next season.
Personally it's been several weeks that I'm pretty confident the whole alternate universes thing will be over in the season finale, and the mythology will focus on the first people in the next season(s).
And that would fit with what Martisco is saying (Astrid is not very important in the red universe, maybe Jasika Nicole didn't had any scenes).
Everything pointed in the renewal direction so far, and now because of slightly dipping ratings last Friday + a blury tweet from a guy that's not into the producion loop everyone's afraid? Relax, it's not like it's the end of the world, I'm sure there will be a 4th season.
No ... I'm crying ! I can't ... there is no way. I wouldn't let Fringe die !
ReplyDeleteThis news is just what I needed to start what I know it's going to be an awful week. Please FOX don't cancel the best series on tv!!
ReplyDeletegod, how i wish i were as optimistic...!!!
ReplyDeleteYou can't do this, It's one of the best shows on tv. There is a lot of garbage, Mostly reality shows, What do people want. Long live Fringe!!!!
ReplyDeletePPPPPPLEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAASSSSSSEEEEEEEEEEEEE NOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteLOL Madness! Andy why did you post it?? ahah
ReplyDeletei'm so mad!!!!!!!!!! i just don't know what to say... i hope it's not true, but it definitely doesn't look good. it's going to be painful to see this amazing show get cancelled. i'm going to miss the dunhamnator!!! :(

I swore I was going to be prepared for this potential. I swore.
ReplyDeleteIt didn't work. I'm depressed, and it isn't even official or substantiated. :(
I only have 2 fav shows in the air right now...Supernatural and Fringe..my dream has always been to work in TV business to work out a similar type of shows but if they cancel it then I prolly lose my last of hope and wil forever be afraid to work in that douchebag of business where most people enjoy watching and supporting american idol than FRINGE...again I'm disappointed in mankind...-.-
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't panic just yet. I mean, I can't imagine them switching from "being optimistic about a renewal" to striking camp only a few days after the show experienced lower ratings than before. I think for now we should relax an stick with the possibilty that they're just packing up things they won't be needing anymore this season.
ReplyDeleteAnyone that saw recent spoiler pics knows they had HUGE number of props. It was Battle Vancouver." These things are probably being removed..
ReplyDeleteAmen to that :-D
ReplyDeleteLet's "Ambar" FOX if it cancells Fringe... It will be Amber 31429 LOL
ReplyDeleteI hope Fringe is not! I love that show!
ReplyDeleteIt isn't just viewers who have problems with shows like Fringe. Networks love episodic shows because they're much easier to syndicate. The weakest episodes of shows like Fringe are the episodic ones and sadly those are the ones most people who aren't regular viewers end up watching.
ReplyDeleteAgreed.
ReplyDeleteIt says cancelled OR moving out of Vancouver. I read somewhere else taxes went up and it's cheaper to film in Ontario now than it is in B.C.
ReplyDeleteI will refuse to believe it until officially announced.
don ´t be panic..., hope that show is moving to another place, i ´m very positive about fourth season,
ReplyDeleteI've watched every episode and I wouldn't be that surprised if it were cancelled. I'm a huge sci-fi fan and I have a hard time sitting through a whole episode. I like watching Walter and Olivia but have a hard time with Peter.
ReplyDeleteI just want you ask for watching last episodes of the season:))... If we people in Europe could influence it, we would do it :)
ReplyDeleteStill a glimmer of hope it's just a rumor. Gotta keep it alive y'all. :) I'm pulling for you guys for what it's worth.
ReplyDeleteThis guy (MetroVanFilms) tweets a lot about Fringe locations, but I wouldn't think he's closely involved with the actual production because they have a pretty strict confidentiality requirement. I think he is someone who is involved with location logistics for various shows, or knows someone who is. How much of this is someone inferring something from something they saw or were told about?
ReplyDeleteFringe isn't all hardcore sci-fi. It is a drama about people connected together through messed up circumstances, trying to make sense of it all. Peter is my favorite character, but I love them all.
ReplyDeleteI've been curious about Fringe but so far I haven't gotten around to it. :( I have only two shows (White Collar, Chuck ) and Chuck might get taken off after this season so I can understand that.
ReplyDeleteNope. Fringe wraps up filming on April 4th according to one of the crew members I asked. *Gulp* http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=137291516340511
ReplyDeleteWhat do you mean by Nope.?
ReplyDeleteI would LOVE if they moved to Ontario. I would be stalking the set every day.
ReplyDeleteIt shouldn't be moving out just yet O___O
ReplyDeleteThanks,
ReplyDeleteagain, not going to believe it until it's official.
OK, so here is a question? Were the containers full or empty?
ReplyDeleteIf this show DOES get cancelled, then I'm done with any new Fox programming. Really, what's the point? Get hooked into a show and get a heavy amount of hints into the mythology only to have it ripped away. This has been happening for years, yes, but only Fox gets these "cult" shows and never really support them. Network tv truly did die after Lost ended. :(
ReplyDeleteAlthough I understand why they are canceling, IF they are canceling then like you, I won't get involved in any more of Fox's scripted programs again. Terra Nova was already iffy for me and if they cancel Fringe then why should I bother to get into another show just to have it canceled. I won't stop watching Glee, because I like it, but I'm going to be pretty gun shy when it comes to new programing.
ReplyDeleteTo be fair to Fox, I think it's safe to say that they have given tremendous support to Fringe within the pitiful constraints of their Nielsen addiction. You make a good point about Terra Nova. If it's a good, intricate show that requires close watching, the sort of show I like, it too is going to be ratings-challenged. Why should genre-loving fans stick around to invest in a new genre show if the average life of a genre show on Fox is 1, 2, 3 seasons at most? I realize that Fox may not give a crap about attracting intelligent viewers like me - they just want bodies. In the end I just want Fox to consider very very very carefully what they might be about to do - pull the plug on a pricelessly brilliant genre show that will NEVER come along again. Don't kill it... if necessary, put it on a hiatus, relaunch it with 13 more episodes later as a replacement. In the meantime, more and more fans will be catching up with it on DVD.
ReplyDeleteWell, I usually don't follow rumors... I'll wait to see if this is true or not... *Crosses fingers and sends FOX 500 pounds of Red Vines...* I wish I had money to send that many... Metaphorically speaking I'm sending them...
ReplyDeleteIf the show moved to Ontario, I could go stalk it too. :D
ReplyDeleteI'm in denial. The Bishops are my favorite characters. Where else would I get my Walter & Peter fix? I'll be biting my nails, until they announce the renewal or the canc... I can't even say it!
ReplyDeleteI love this show but i can’t do very much about it. You guys in the US get organized. Start sending e mails and red vines to Kevin Reilly. Just as fans did to save Sara Tancredi in Prison Preak: e-mails to TPTB and origami swans’ photos and real too…A lot!! (That was the main symbolic item in the storyline). We can help too but someone should find out specific days, post it online, so that everybody that very day can send e mails or red vines photos etc. Let’s save this refined valiant show.
ReplyDeleteWalter Bishop on Facebook said on Friday afternoon-"SO According to many sources, they are saying that the FATE of the show will be revealed NEXT WEEK!".
ReplyDeleteCool. I have the Top Tweet for #Fringe on Twitter with: If #Fringe is cancelled I will encase FOX Headquarters in Amber with all the Execs inside... :D
ReplyDeleteDarthlocke:
ReplyDeleteThey could be moving...A lot of US Tax laws pertaining to filming in a state or city have been renewed and/or revised, so it might be cheaper to film in the states.
NOOOOOOOOOOO WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY !!!!! NOT IN A MILLION YEAR !!!
ReplyDeleteIt sure would be nice to get good news for a change. I could say a few more things but none of them are suitable for print.
ReplyDeleteI can see it now. Fringe on location in.... West Virginia... lol. The state has been pushing film credits for awhile.
ReplyDeleteJWFRINGE JOEL WYMAN
ReplyDeleteHi. I just hopped on and saw all this. Fringe is not cancelled. Some people love bad news SO much they make it up. ; )
i refuse to accept cancellation rumors, i can't handle the possibility. moving out of vancouver could make sense for other reasons; maybe the finale requires locations they can't recreate in vancouver. i want to hope it's because jj abrams' agent is leaving WME and will likely be putting a lot more pocket money into bad robot, and therefore fringe. more info on that here: http://nymag.com/daily/entertainment/2011/03/jj_abrams_john_fogelman_hasbro.html
ReplyDeletebut i agree the we should all be sending kevin reilly lots of licorice in the mean time.
Hi see my comment before yours, Joel Wyman, executive producer tweeted it is not canceled.
ReplyDeletei saw it on twitter, thanks, good news to hear. but as to my comment, i'm more interested in the reasons they appear to be packing up part of the set.
ReplyDeleteyes, that is interesting. As the pictures appeared while filming the episode they were last filming it seemed they have some very, very large pieces. perhaps they were just transporting them. i am glad it isn't the cancellation rumor though . . . yet :(
ReplyDeletelook what fox did to futurama.... now its still an awesome show on another channel and fox aint getting any action from it..... firefly would be the best thing on TV if it stayed.... and WTF .. simpsons gets 22 or whatever seasons? .... ill die on the inside if fringe doesnt get as many seasons as the Xfiles atleast.... XFiles had a good run with FOX so... lets hope the managers liken fringe to xfiles enough for them to treat it the same way..... lets hope
