  1. That's as close to 'nail in coffin' as any show will ever get...

  2. Yes, my first thought was 'oh dear'.

  3. Heh. I don't know, that 1.1 demo rating it drew last night is a really big nail.

  4. I think NBC have ditched the nails and have moved onto Electric Drills with One Way Screws, Superglue and Double Sided Sticky Tape.

  5. Ha! Brilliant. I think the next step is cement shoes.

  6. What on earth is wrong with NBC?
    No respect to their viewers?

  7. NBC respects its viewers. Thing is, The Cape has no viewers.

You should consider yourself lucky and "respected" that NBC is putting the time into putting the episode online.

  8. You're kidding, right? I know there's a few loyal fans out there but with ratings that low, NBC is taking a huge hit every time they air an original episode of The Cape. It's most likely more profitable just to air a repeat of Chuck instead. It would probably get better ratings.

  9. lol they did the same with Persons Unknown, don't know what to think of NBC

  10. Goddamnit! Now the only show I'll watch on NBC is Harry's Law. I actually liked The Cape, I thought it was decent for a superhero show. I figured it had better or at least more consistent writing than Heroes, and didn't have such a large cast to pay for. I thought it might actually have a chance to stick around. NBC, don't bother trying this genre anymore! You suck at it! Stick to cop/lawyer/medical drama and stop giving scifi/fantasy fans false hope. I'm sick and tired of getting invested in shows that end up getting tossed into the garbage just as they get interesting. With Smallville ending and no more Cape, guess where a superhero fan has to go next NBC? ABC! That's right, now I have no choice but to get caught up on No Ordinary Family! THAT has to fill my superhero show void! Way to lose to your competition NBC!

  11. well NOF had its season reduced to 20 episodes and is likely to be cancelled and be over in a month so u may want to reconsidering your move :)

  12. The Cape has well over 80,000 followers on Facebook. The problem is that the Cape's viewers aren't members of the Nielson Ratings group. Maybe they don't poll the right demographic.
And in a related vein - IF you watch an episode on NBC.com the number of views gets counted, so maybe IF a lot of people would just watch online, NBC MIGHT see the show does indeed have followers.

  13. The Cape has over 80,000 fans on Facebook. I guess there aren't enough people in this particular demographic that are polled or are members of the Nielson Ratings family.

AND IF you watch an episode of The Cape on NBC.com it gets counted just like the numbers in their ratings polls. So if you are a fan, go watch all the episodes online. Of course log on and watch, log off after, and log back on to watch another episode, so each viewing is clearly an individual one to be counted.

And if you like, write to NBC and let them POLITELY know how you feel about the show.

  14. Walking Dead is already one of my "must watch" shows, but I've never seen Lost Girl. I don't really care much for NOF really, so I'm not that bummed about it. I really just wish there was a decent superhero show that had quality and consistency, and at least a little staying power.

  15. you should try Lost Girl its sorta a sex-super hero show lol

  16. I love The Cape. I'm really upset that it's going off because I am a loyal fan. They had better make a good finale episode that resolves a bunch of things!

  17. Yes, but do they consider it may take a moment to catch a few fans. Chuck as of recent, is like a visual root canal. I wish they would give it time; I look forward to so few shows and I watch everything online...(don't judge I don't own a t.v.) Most of it SUCKS. So reserve your mundane comments for, I don't know...imdb chat boards....I have a few friends who wouldn't be as nice as I. Have a great day, good luck in buying some taste, I recommend E-Bay.

  18. The quality of programming isn't at issue here. It's about level of viewership and profitability. Television is just as much a bottom line business as any other. NBC is well known these days for airing low rated programs but there is a limit. With ratings that low, the show is a huge albatross to the network.

As for your personal jabs, you can keep 'em. I didn't post anything that was rude or in poor taste. You, on the other hand, posted awkward, lukewarm insults for no apparent reason.

SpoilerTV is a place for TV fans who are almost always engaging and respectful people. You could learn a thing or two from them.
