Lucy Griffiths, has landed the lead in the CW's zombie thriller Awakening. The project, from WBTV and Reveille, is about two sisters coming of age and facing off against one another amidst the beginning of a zombie uprising. It centers on the older sister, Jenna (Griffiths), an attorney in the New York City's public defender's office who, like her sister, is a zombie.

REALLY!!!! Well, at least the show's characters will appeal to it's target audience.....mindless zombies
ReplyDeleteI must be getting something wrong, because this sounds just so stupid, it can't be true: They are sisters, they are both zombies and one of the zombies is working as an attorney.
ReplyDeleteSeriously? I mean seriosuly??
ROFL. I know. Going to have to watch the first episode just to see
ReplyDeletewhat's going on lol
HA!!! Next thing you know, ten million people will be tuning in JUST to find out what the hell happened!!!
ReplyDeleteand that makes 3/6 CW pilots lawyer shows Danni Lowinski/ Heavenly and Awakening
ReplyDeleteHA, true!!!
ReplyDeleteSeriously how is the CW not dead yet!?
Probably Supernatural and SMallville, but after that, Hasta La Vista!!
You mean you want to see the tragedy unfold...Lol
ReplyDeleteThey still got Gossip Girl and The Vampire Diaries...and WB seems to be content with making money of the dvd releases.
ReplyDeleteThat part confused me too. Two zombie sisters fighting the zombie apocalypse? The lawyer zombie sister is special because .... she's a good zombie and the other one is bad....
ReplyDeleteYep Both GG and especially TVD do very well internationally.
ReplyDeleteThe plot sounds ridiculous and I doubt that they can compare to the awesomness that is 'The Walking Dead'. I wonder if they release that if the sisters have sex, they're showing necrophelia. Lol Zombie are walking corpses after all.
ReplyDeleteI'm just not going to comment on what I've just read..
ReplyDeleteThere are much more important things to discuss. So the CW picked three new series, right? This one,Heavenly and another with some female investigators,I think.
This year they had eight shows.SV is ending, from what I've heard so does OTH and they'll cancel one more.Is this how it works?
My whole point is to make sure that we'll have a 7th season of SPN.I think VD,SPN,GG and probably Nikita are safe. They'll keep these four, have the three new and cancel either Hellcats or 90...(I honestly can't remember all the numbers).I know that things possibly work differently and someone will burst my bubble, but for now I'm very happy with my logic.. :p
no the CW havent picked anything to series yet there are six shows filming a first episode which the CW will watch and choose a few of to pick up to series the scripted series contendors are Heavenly, Awakening, Cooper and Stone, Danni Lowinski, The Secret Circle and Heart of Dixie
ReplyDeletepersonally i think the CW will just cancel the already canned Smallville, Life Unexpected and cancel One Tree Hill because the cast/creators want it to end/want to leave and contracts have expired they could also cancel 1 more show like Hellcats or Nikita or renew everything other than SV,LUX and OTH
ReplyDeleteSmallvillle is ending, it's not cancelled, and was intentionally made as the final season.
ReplyDeleteSeries follows thousands of zombies living "normal lives" among the living (also known as the "pre-dead"). The two worlds collide and cause war between the living and the dead.
ReplyDeletesounds alot like the great billy conelly, carie anne moss 2006 movie called FIDO, about zombies living and working amongst the general population untill they begin to uprise thanks to a zombie called Fido.... CW seem to have borrowed the idea :(
ReplyDeleteVery much looking forward to The Secret Circle.. I read this along with Vampire Diaries as a kid :)
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, I love her! That's Marian from Robin Hood! :)
ReplyDeleteThis is not a good pilot season for CW so Secret Circle and Heart of Dixie are probably the two contenders here, as the competition is so very very weak.
ReplyDeleteThe morning after the CW network executives gave the pilot order for Awakening they sent out a memo banning pot from the conference rooms.
ReplyDeleteTrue story. :P
i dont think SS is a sure thing the CW was kinda slow to give SS a pilot order and i actually heard they considered picking up a musical pilot instead of it so i kinda think its probably low priority.
ReplyDeletethey probably have already seen Danni Lowinski tho since it filmed a while back before they even picked up the pilots
i'm also pretty sure the CW will pick 3 or 4 pilots not 2 last year was 2 but year before was 4 and i think Shedding for the wedding,OTH,SV and LUX are gone
ReplyDeleteRight you are about DL. As you said, the pilot wrapped a while ago and the show's buzz hasn't increased at all. Not a peep about it really. Very telling.
ReplyDeleteSecret Circle already has a built-in audience and now the show has Kevin Williamson from TVD on board. I believe it's more of a shoo-in than you think.
As far as CW pilots go, call it the most fragrant turd in the bowl. :)
hmm maybe but if they want to pair Awakening with Vampire Diaries they may not want SS i heard from someone who read all the CW pilot scripts that Awakening was by far the best of the six
ReplyDeleteThey may go with more reality instead of dishing out big cash for pilots that will make lousy shows or they may keep a few hold-outs for mid season replacements.
ReplyDeleteThat's just scary, tariqq. *shivers*
ReplyDeleteright but the CW mostly stays alive through international sales/ DVD sales which reality does not get + whens the last time they had a successful reality show?
ReplyDeleteHa! Good point. You got me there.
ReplyDeleteActually, this would make a lot of sense to me if not for the Kevin Williamson thing. He put his own companion piece show for the Vampire Diaries on hold to go over to Secret Circle.
ReplyDeleteI can't fathom the man would of put his own project on hold for a show the network wasn't serious about.
i actually heard he never actually finished his own project / script wasnt ready during pilot pickup time so he just hopped on SS at the last minute
ReplyDeleteWhat's SS?
ReplyDelete:P:P:P:P:P:P:P!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteHAHAHAHAHHAHAH
I wasn't under the impression that his project was something that was being developed for this pilot season. I was going under the assumption that, at the earliest, it would of been for next season.
ReplyDeletei mean to be ordered to pilot this season so it can be ordered to series in may
ReplyDeleteSecret Circle i mean lol
ReplyDeleteRight, I'm with you. When I wrote "next season" I meant develop a pilot for next spring's pilot season. Sorry. I guess that was a little vague / ambiguous on my part.
ReplyDelete;D
ReplyDeleteOoh isn't that Marion from Robin Hood? :D She's awesome. :D And WHO does NOT want to see a zombie being an attorney? I wonder what kind of people would hire her. Hahah :D
ReplyDeleteHeh, why are you so cruel :)? you dont like the premise of the show?
