  2. Love the ratings dig. Can't wait for this episode.

I just hope they avoid the whole "wee the whole audience is fangirls!" thing. It's too tried and true to be any fun.

  3. OMG! This episode is gonna be so awesome....'according to the interviewer not many people do...' Lol

  4. absolute love!!
    "i'm gonna be sick"

  5. I don't think they will. Maybe I'm wrong but I think the episode is more about the show itself and not so much about the fans. Why would they otherwise cast Robert Singer and Eric... ;D

  6. Sneak Peak 2? Where's sneak peak 1? lol

  7. Aww. But we are loyal! lol

  10. Your comment doesn't really jive with mine... I want it to be about the show and not about the fans, hence why I don't want the fangirl emphasis that previous meta episodes had about Dean or Sam girls.

    ReplyDelete
  11. There could be that element but I don't think so-- especially since the previous meta episodes dealt with Supernatural as being a book series with fans. I think that the premise of this episode might be different. But like I said, it is possible for them to mention the fans but I don't think that it will be as central as the previous meta episodes

    ReplyDelete
  12. I actually totally agree with you. I didn't word my previous comments in the best way, I actually think we might be on the same page.

I can't wait to see the next episode because it's TRUE meta fiction--I can't wait to see how they handle it.

And another thing (which I think I might submit a variation as my next "question of the day"), is that I think I'm one of the very very few fans of Supernatural who are both vocal and, apparently more importantly, a man.

    I think I will submit a question tomorrow. :P

  13. I'm not sure where I should post this, so I'll just put it here. If any of the Supernatural experts, in particular Dahne, might want to work with me, I would like to try and put together a nice article about why Supernatural is one of my favorite shows--Being a male in my twenties. I'm finishing my degrees in English and Film Studies with specific experience in television criticism.

I could write it thematically on my own, which I intend to, but some expert help would definitely make it a more solid piece.

  14. Dude, u took words out of my mouth as in SPN fans who r vocal and supportive... even though they r male. Count me in! ;)

    ReplyDelete
  15. Super-MAN-tural fans unite! :D

    ReplyDelete
  16. You can find good experts on SPN at FanPop's SPN fan club (Though you are bound to find a large horde of fan-girls syndrome there too!) [WE (the males) are minority bro... in this regard! :|]

    ReplyDelete
  17. It's always good to hear from Supernatural fans who are both vocal and male.... :)
I know of 2 male fans (husband and son) who love SPN but would never dream of posting on a website about it.

I'd also like those people out there who think all SPN fans are teenage and female to get a serious wake up call. Yes there are an awful lot of teenage, female SPN fans, but on my travels around various SPN related and social networking sites, I've become increasingly aware that there are many others out there who don't fit that demographic at all.

So I'm right behind any kind of post that helps shatter that myth. Go for it I say...

  18. Then support your local super woman, because I have some things to say! Haha. :P

    ReplyDelete
  19. I'm a bit worried now...what are you going to say? :P

    ReplyDelete
  20. SPN has many elements that entertain both men and women. It's a wonderful show,I don't see why males couldn't enjoy it!!!Many of my friends who are men watch it!

    ReplyDelete
  21. I love this episode already. So many good lines in one minute! Can't wait!
Gotta say, this comment about Jared's polish surname is great, especially for polish fans like me:)

  22. This episodes takes awesome to a whole new level! I can't wait!! :D

  23. Why don't you try Winchester Family Business? http://www.thewinchesterfamilybusiness.com/supernatural.html
There are some very interesting and detailed articles there

  24. Dahne has access to write articles on the live site. Or if you want I can
give you access if you want to post. Just drop me an email

    ReplyDelete
  25. I'm so happy that you posted my suggestion! :D Thank you so much! :D I'm honored! ;D

  26. How about this..I'm not a man, but I'm certainly not a teenage girl...close to Jim Beaver's age..and a big fan!

  28. I was unsure when I heard this idea, but the clips have really made me excited. That is good PR on the part of the studio. When they want us to watch to find what happens next we get virtually no clips that mean anything. When they pick up on concerns that an ep isn't going to be good - they show us a bit more to whet our appetites.
I am looking forward to this ep. Both clips so far are packed with great lines, and scenes (eg a weeping Misha in the car). If any show can pull this off it is SPN.
Re the debate below about the demo being all teenage fangirls, my experience is that SPN fans come in all ages, sizes, nationalities and sexes. My son, who is 14, loves the show. I am female, but hardly a teenager any more. I think those who post online tend to be women, but the wider fan base is a much more mixed bag.

  29. its not Supernatural unless you jump the shark and break the fourth wall...

    Lol Dean's reaction--PRICELESS

    ReplyDelete
  30. oh gosh I got goosbumps or what ever poeple say ahaha LOVE it too much already. I'm ditching my friends friday night ahaha (well no i convinced them to eat at 4pm LOL)

    ReplyDelete
  31. LMFAO! This episode will definitely make me laugh and bring many, MANY smiles to my face!

    ReplyDelete
  32. @JosephMcLaddle I wrote something regarding the show... have a look (u can post ur opinion too). http://abhi-bilkan.blogspot.com/2011/02/opinions-of-brother.html

    ReplyDelete
  33. Dean's reaction to the Impalas is priceless! Jensen does comedy so well. Unfortunately I'll not see it when it airs :( probably won't get to see it for a few days. Oh the things we do for love ;) *LOL*

    ReplyDelete
  34. Dean is so funny!! I'm going to be sick! LMAO

    ReplyDelete
  35. I think you misunderstood me. I don't think the episode will be about the fanbase. You said you don't want the episode to be about Sam girl and Dean girls and I think they won't because they seem to focus on the show itself and the people behind-the-scenes. And there was only one meta episode with fangirl emphasis.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Very creative. Just be careful, people could confuse you with a Superman fan. ;D

    ReplyDelete
  37. Sounds interesting. Don't forget to post a link or the article if darkufo allows it on spoilertv. You should check out winchesterfamilybusiness, the quality of the articles is above average and Alice Jester has quite a nice group of regular posters on it. I think some are even guys.
The other site I would reccomend is Fangasm http://fangasmthebook.wordpress.com/ They are two female college professors who write about the show.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Me too ..that's exactly what I was getting at

    ReplyDelete
  39. We're not really 'debating' it as such, I think most of those involved in the discussion are in agreement that the fanbase is much more diverse in age and gender than many people out there think. The point was, how to get that across to those who perceive us as teenage girls. :)

    ReplyDelete
  40. Fangasm has some of my all time favorite articles on SPN.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I wouldn't necessarily say that it is a true meta fiction- I have to watch the episode to see what they do exactly.

Oh well, then you're really in the minority of the fandom then LOL

    ReplyDelete
  42. Awesome to see the 'K.M.' on the soundstage door. It's great that Kim Manners is still so much a part of SPN.

    ReplyDelete
  43. And..my husband watched all the DVDs with me this summer and watches faithfully Friday night, although he tries to act like he's not as hooked as I am.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Mine's the same - amazed how quickly he agreed to go to All Hell Breaks Loose Con in Australia next year - he says it's so he can carry the bags while I have my fangirl moment... yeah right :P

    ReplyDelete
  45. OH MY GOD IM SO EXCITED FOR THIS EPISODE !!!!! LMAO i also feel i may throw up ahah butterflies oh my gosh what spn does to me......not healthy lol CAN'T WAIT TILL FRIDAY !

    ReplyDelete
  46. I love Dean, love him, love him, love him! anybody besides me crack up everytime he says "Now you're Polish?"

    ReplyDelete
  47. Not the episode doesn't look very funny - because it looks ROLF - but why is so hard for Sam and Dean to believe that their "fictional/real" lives would be made into a "low rated TV show" because in their actual reality their lives have already been "documented" as a low circulation book series called "Supernatural". Is the show disregarding TMATEOTB and all of "Chuck's" subsequent appearances?

    ReplyDelete
  48. Absolutely. Just let me know what you want me to do. The easiest way to contact me is through this site - Dahne in the forums, Twitter - @dahne1, or Facebook - Spn Dahne. I'd be happy to help.

    ReplyDelete
  49. OK, I admit it. This scene is funny. Perhaps this won't be the dreaded obnoxious, canon-creating meta episode I fear it to be. (But that's the only concession I'm willing to make right now. :-P)

    ReplyDelete
  50. Sounds like a sweetie! Mine too..he likes me happy! Envy your upcoming trip!

    ReplyDelete
  51. This...
    Will be hilarious. I seriously....
