Smallville started to recover some getting 2.6 In total Viewers.Down slightly still with 1 In 18-49 Demo but better than last week and tied Supernany In the Demo. And It regins lead over Supernatural In total viewers but they both this week got same In the Demo.COnsidering how bad last night's episode was actully surprising It did so well.
SPN did fine thanks very much. More or less the same as last week, and a solid 1 in the demo. It is CWs 3rd highest rated show and will be its second highest rated after SV ends. It is doing fine and in no danger of being cancelled.
It's the same 1.5 rating for 18-49 as last week which is up from the 1.4 from the week before. However, not as good as the 1.9 it got in its first 2 Friday shows.
Just your basic Wiki entry for Nielsen ratings. It explains the system well enough but it is sad that only 25,000 households out of the 115 million tv households are counted in the ratings. Under the criticism of ratings heading it gives all the bloody details of why this 1950s system is still stuck in the 1950s. Quote from the article:
"As a result, the total number of Nielsen homes only amounts to 0.02183% of the total American television households, meaning that 99.97817% of American households have no input at all into what is actually being watched."

Whats even more sad is that we will never know just how many people watch our favorite shows and our favorite shows will suffer because of it.
gosh I wish that was all it took. (I'm watching it LOVE IT!!!!!) I dont know if it works with the mythology of season 1-2 cause I only watch every ep once but dont really care its so good. love mini peter
"You sure about SPN season 7 ??? The ratings are not so good."
I'm pretty sure. It is the network's 2nd or 3rd higest rated show. The CW won't cancel a show because its ratings aren't as good as Fringe or CSI because they don't own those shows. The decisions are made comparing the performance each network's own shows. These ratings are good for the CW which is a tiny network, and better than almost all their other shows. Also only a month or so ago Dawn Ostroff who runs the network said in a public statement that she would be 'amazed if SPN wasn't renewed'. As it is her decision I'd say that gives a pretty good indication of the future of the show. Of course there are always surprises and nothing is certain, but - bizarre as it may seem when you look at the ratings in absolute terms - Fringe is in much more danger of being cancelled than SPN. This isn't just my opinion. SPN is categorised as 'certain to be renewed' in almost all the cancellation/renewal predictions including the one on this site.
Yep, with LUX being cancelled, and Smallville ending I can't really see the CW stopping Supernatural as well. The ratings are still pretty good as you say.
They are better than Gossip Girl, Hellcats and on a par with Nikita.Only the Vampire Diaries does much better.
Enjoyed Smallville, nice to see Clark loosen up a bit, he hasnt been under a spell or red K recently so it was fun. Supernatural did well but I guess Sam was right :P Dean: Seriously, why would anyone want to watch a show about our lives? Sam: Well according to the interviewer not many people do.
i'm fan of spn...i'm a little bit desappointed..i thought that spn was more view for the epic episode "the french mistake"...but cw is not abc or other big network....and it's a good score for spn...with that...i'm sure that spn will be back next year with dean, sam and the essential cass (a little bit invisible this year...i miss him)...
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Hooray!! Go Blue Bloods :D... Supernatural did not so good :(
ReplyDeleteYou kick that butt Fringe!

Go Fringe! Best show ever!

ReplyDeleteAre you talking about the SV ep or the SPN ep. The SPN ep was fantastic, and is widely viewed as the best ep of the season so far.
ReplyDeleteYou're pretty defensive about SPN lol. I'm sure he was talking about Smallville, since the episode last night was horrendous.
ReplyDeleteNo - not defensive - just would have been surprised if he had been referring to SPN. I was clarifying.
ReplyDeleteI agree completely! Most people watch these shows online anyway so Supernatural and Smallville do pretty well being on Friday Nights.
ReplyDeleteIn comparison with Blue Bloods it didn't do very well but I suppose it did ok for the CW :)
ReplyDeleteis it better than last week??
ReplyDeleteyeah since it's like the second in the list (of best eps this far) *takes gun out* French Mistake was great
ReplyDeleteIt's the same 1.5 rating for 18-49 as last week which is up from the 1.4 from the week before. However, not as good as the 1.9 it got in its first 2 Friday shows.
ReplyDelete:S thanks.
ReplyDeleteYay! I'm glad that Fringe stayed at the 1.5! Hope we go a little higher in two weeks!
ReplyDeleteYes I was talking about Smallville.I don't watch Supernatural.
ReplyDeleteIn terms of episode quality, this week was FANTASTIC.
ReplyDeleteWhich, of course, means nothing here.
You sure about SPN season 7 ??? The ratings are not so good.

Yeah, I didn't watch the SV episode because the promos looked so ridiculous. Late night's ep of SPN was much better on the whole than last week's.

Yes,and continue climbing after that. It would be great seeing Fringe in the safe zone. It certainly deserves to be.
ReplyDeleteSomething is off when the total viewers is the same as the 18-49. I wonder if they counted the rest of us, what it would look like.
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed Smallville, nice to see Clark loosen up a bit, he hasnt been under a spell or red K recently so it was fun. Supernatural did well but I guess Sam was right :P
