  3. Obviously Death installed substandard dry wall....isn't there a law against that?

    ReplyDelete
  4. AHHAHA LOL! well saw that preview. I guess it was only a little technical problem

  5. Grand pa creepy is tolarable cause the episode is Really good

  6. I missed the first five minutes, started watching at the transition between them driving and Sammy looking spooked (I don't know why, I assume he saw the a sign with the town name or something and had a flashback) and them being in the "Poop Deck Diner."

    Did I miss anything?

  8. Loved the episode...
Sam and Dean quoting John Winchester at each other....
Grandpa Creepy just letting RoboSam do whatever.....Grandpa you're not only a douchebag you're a certifiable IDIOT (not and idjit either cos that's too polite)
    Great editing of Sam's flashbacks...
and the arachne....scary ....worse than YED.....
and the end......Sam that was just.....oh poor Sam.....

    ReplyDelete
  9. OMFG. That was so good... and the end. I was almost in tears. I agree that the promo did take some wind out of my sails. In a good way though. Don't want to see my Sammy all in psychic pain :(

    ReplyDelete
  10. Not sure why you all are getting on Grandpa in this episode. He seemed to be doing his job, which is hunt. I am sure he didn't know that shooting those people wouldn't actually kill them. I am sure that neither Sam or Samuel knew that the poison was turning them into monsters. Sorry don't know why you are getting down on Samuel, unless you just like getting down.

  11. Tell me this episode is not about giant spiders. I'm half way through but I can;t take giant spiders.

    ReplyDelete
  12. No giant spiders

  13. OMG, Sammy, NOOOOOOOOOOOO! Absolutely awesome episode. I hate waiting until next week for the next one!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  14. I completely agree. While it's true that evil wins when good men do nothing, every single character on this show is "morally gray" at best. It seems like people are inclined to hate on him just because they don't like him. You could see that he had some humanity; they highlighted his shock and obvious displeasure with Sam's behavior.

  15. Midnight??? You're joking right? I already saw that episode 1 and 1/2 time xD The episode is on internet since almost 20 minutes ago

    ReplyDelete
  16. Cause Samuel is the SOB who sold the boys out to a bunch of demons and has creepy fixation on his daughter.

    ReplyDelete
  17. One of the best episodes of s6. I absolutely loved it.
You guys have no idea how much I needed this tonight. I've had the worst week ever. :/

    ReplyDelete
  18. How exactly did the Arachne (?) produce the webs? Shoot it out of his butt?

    ReplyDelete
  19. :P By the way....YEAH!!! Melinda Frigon!!! At least her character in Spn is nicer than her character of Janice xD

    ReplyDelete
  20. I freaked at the end. The wall? Whoa! If it's this early, there has to be some way they are going to be able to deal with it. They are hitting us big time this season. Everything is happening and it's awesome!

    ReplyDelete
  21. At least Dean can halfway understand they psychic pain of hell. Sam's is gonna be different. He was there longer and dealing with an angry archangel and Lucifer.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Yes, he had some, but we now know that Sam and everyone else meant nothing to him. He wanted to raise Mary.

    ReplyDelete
  23. No, not giant spiders. It's interesting. I've read about them before in Greek mythology. I like the monsters this seasons. They are starting to get unique.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Maybe he did a spiderman. lol

    ReplyDelete
  25. This episode was UNBELIEVABLE!! The black & white flashbacks gave it a noir feel and it was like watching an good old horror flick. Bravo! I don't know about the rest of you but I was GAMBLE'D with that ending!

    ReplyDelete
  26. yeah the promo did take the wind out of my sails too. But I think they're all cryptic now (ever since they spoiled the whole 'sam has no soul' before.

I can't wait for next week though. Poor Sammy! =(

    ReplyDelete
  27. I disagree that they meant absolutely nothing to him. I hate the son of a bitch too, but dealing with absolutes in any show is always a mistake, and especially so in this one.

    ReplyDelete
  28. where do you watch the episode online? could someone please tell me?? I'm dying here...

    ReplyDelete
  29. For me the best part of this episode was Mitch Pileggi and seeing him show a different side of Samuel. Loved Samuel in this episode... he plays dour so well! Seeing the different side of Sam was just.... disturbing. Very slow episode. I guess I can't expect good score music AND black and white footage on SPN's budget... Robo-Sam is not as fun in black and white either... not as funny. Not many Dean snarkgasms in this episode or brotherly interaction... I hope there isn't too many more of these "Sammy flashback" episodes. Overall this was a good episode for me, but no where near great.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Perhaps because Grandpa Creepy knew what Sam was doing was wrong but did nothing to stop it. I'm not really talking about shooting the people at the end, but definitely with the police officer. He let a soulless Sam run the show knowing that Sam doesn't throw punches. Instead of saying that Sam is cold, he needed to do something about it. For instance, he could have warned the sheriff that they were using him as bait but he stood by and did nothing. It was the wrong call. He knew it. Yet he did nothing. Grandpa Creepy is being held to Dean standards and maybe that's not fair, but anyone would have called Sam out on his plans - not just Dean.

    ReplyDelete
  31. He was by far my favorite part of this episode...Nice to see the softer side of Samuel. Pileggi is the best actor on the show, so it was fun for me to see him do more than scowl!

    ReplyDelete
  32. But the "Sam has no soul" thing was pretty easy to guess by the end of, what was it... You Can't Handle the Truth?

Though I guess since we're only in episode 13 of the season, we should know that Sam is going to pull through the end of this episode one way or another, but there wasn't any indication that it would be something he would seemingly get over so quickly.

Anyways, loved the episode. I usually don't care for soulless Sam, but I just loved the atmosphere of this episode. And even though they reused the Memento reference, I liked how they kept the flashbacks in black and white like the movie. Also loved the new monster (though I remembered it from the promo, so its identity wasn't a surprise, unfortunately). Interesting taking a Greek myth like Arachne and turning her into a full-blown monster.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Agreed. Sam could kick Samuel's butt.. what was Samuel supposed to do to stop Sam? Hunting is often morally "grey", but it was Sam that took it "black"... not Samuel. My dislike of Samuel did not happen until long after these flashbacks occurred in real time, so I can't hold that anger against him. In this episode he was not at all Grandpa Creepy....

    ReplyDelete
  34. We did get a Mother reference. Bobby called in to say that it was quiet. :P

    ReplyDelete
  35. HA! LOL I stand corrected...

    ReplyDelete
  36. This is a multiple respond post.
I admit my feelings for Samuel are strongly colored by what happened in Caged Heat, but even before then I disliked the guy. Plus the whole working with a demon the whole time and not informing the people that should know...maybe it lies in the namesake :P
Another part of it though is that he did just stand idly by and let RoboSam do whatever he wanted. Sure Sam was a damn good hunter, sure Sam scared the living crap out of Samuel, but if Samuel wanted to he could have done SOMETHING. Talk to the sheriff behind Sam's back, actually said more than two words about Sam putting those men out of their misery. He did jack squat and that was a mistake in my eyes. I can give the man compliments in some parts, like his love for Mary, but that means I am seeing the negative side too.
Mitch is a great actor, saying he is the best on the show makes me facepalm though. Matter of opinion, blah blah blah.
No I don't think that Sam and Dean meant nothing to Samuel, but it's damn close in my opinion. Samuel was raised by Crowley and made the deal to trade Alphas for Mary. Sam was just there as a friendly little helper is what I think Samuel saw him as and the fact that he didn't go and get Dean because it might have affected his goals says a lot about Samuel too. Sure that was the point Sam made, but it convinced Samuel. I am willing to give the guy a slight break though and say that maybe the thought of letting Dean have his peaceful life was part of Samuel's decision too.
Overall, the guy's a prick to me.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Sorry you had a bad week. *hugs*

    ReplyDelete
  38. I agree Dahne, this is just what I was thinking but didn't say.....
I know realistically that Grandpa is a lot older than Sam and would have had difficulty physically holding him back, but to just stand there and watch like he did?
I may have let my dislike of Grandpa color my opinion, but.... no....there were alternatives to doing nothing.....that's surely why he's a hunter? Because he doesn't just stand by and allow bad things to happen?

    ReplyDelete
  39. First of all the close up of Jared's bum at the beginning 'WHOOO!'
Guh! I love how Dean is so desperately 'Sammy don't, you'll hurt yourself' and Sam's all 'But Dean I have too'. Typical Sam is back and now with his soul he can throw in a puppy dog expression to back up his stubbornness. My favorite moments was thinking that Jared looked like he was trying to attempt the 'That's so Raven' vision look during the flashbacks lol.

Sucks that Castiel seems to on the down low these days. My fav line of the episode was Dean's Don't be such a bitch lol to Sam's testy reply. :) Classic

Thumbs up for Sammy's fit at the end. The episode itself just confirmed my suspicions that Soulless Sam was horny Sam with a bad sense of judgement and just-totally un-Sammy! I really wanted to see Dean's initial reaction to Sam's retelling of the flashbacks of him using the sheriff as bait and then killing them :( To me the episode was lacking, the promo had me all hyped up for angst and revelations but it was still good, heck just the anticipation of knowing it's 9:58 (its starts at 10 here) and i'm gonna get to see it has me bouncing on the soles of my feet.

Most of the time after Supernatural I get so tired all I can do is give a hefty Squeal and sleep lol but tonight I actually watched Merlin for the first time and pretty sure I'm going to read fanfiction until 3 a.m while thinking over next week's promo. Come On Spn get ur head in the game!

    ReplyDelete
  40. I thought that RoboSam was so scary in this one. More than anything we have seen so far. I also loved the background music. Really added to the episode.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Thank goodness there weren't spiders. I have to sleep tonight. I'm glad they are starting to get unique monsters too. At first with the vampire and shape shifter redux I was worried, but they pulled out some bizarre and cool ones lately.

  42. Honestly, I think the debate between "Granpa is the worst ever" and "Grandpa is probably the worst ever, but might have one or two redeeming features" is due to bad writing. Don't get me wrong, Supernatural is one of my favorite shows running now, I just think they've handled the Grandpa arc pretty sloppily.

I'm mainly thinking about how they made everyone absolutely hate him when his deal with Crowley was revealed earlier, yet made an attempt to humanize him this episode even though it was inevitably eclipsed by fan hatred. If the storytelling was more finessed, we could be having an awesome debate about the extremities of being "morally gray" instead of the "OMG he is so evil!" kind of sentiment the show has aroused.

"Grandpa Creepy" as you guys call him had the potential to be a really awesome and dynamic character, but the direction of this season has made him (sadly, in my opinion) to be a really flat and, in my opinion and apparently others, hateful-for-the-sake-of-it character.

Worst of all, in my opinion, his arch has actually cheapened the legacy of his daughter!

    ReplyDelete
  43. I had the most surreal experiance with Pileggi. I've been watching "That 70's Show" since it just got put on Netflix Instant, and I happened to start on an episode of that show that Pileggi guest starred in, which I watched when the show's commercials were on.

    Seriously weird. Haha.

    ReplyDelete
  44. The biggest thing to cheapen Mary's legacy was In the Beginning. She went from being the saintly mother who died for her child to the selfish twenty-something who doomed her children because she didn't want to be alone.

    ReplyDelete
  45. I'm thinking of Grandpa in terms of nurture versus nature. Either way, it seems like he loses and is at least somewhat responsible.

But I don't disagree with you. Though I loved the young John character, every time he appeared, he was always much more of a victim than Mary.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Now that would be creepy!... and confusing. lol.

    ReplyDelete
  47. In the episode, he was the head of a swinger's party. It helped that I never had to dissociate him from someone despicable. :P

    ReplyDelete
  48. LMAO! I think I saw that episode.... and ew!

    ReplyDelete
  49. You don't even know... I love me some creepy bald dudes... ;)

    No, no. I kid. :P

  50. There has to be a level above AWESOME! The MOTW was totally great and creepy (more monsters spreading). The flashbacks finally filled in some holes (although I was under the impression that the flash back episode was going to show us why or how Sam was avoiding Dean). I would have easily marked this as awesome after the guys came back for the post-hunt chat. But that final scene blew me away... I believe I will be watching it over and over and over all night. Loved it!

    ReplyDelete
  51. I think the writers missed a great opportunity for the brothers to re-bond by focusing completely on the memories and Sam's reaction and totally missing Dean's. And I wonder when Sam will learn not to lie to his brother about things that may just turn out to be important.... like remembering the past year after he very adamantly told you how dangerous it could be. Don't make the same mistakes all over again!

While this ep moved the story along nicely, it was only ok for me. The spider monster was cool and the case was sufficiently creepy, but it missed the mark with no real brother growth. I liked how it showed the difference between RoboSam and Sam, but I thought he sheriff's wife bought into it a little too easily. If you'd spent a year suspecting someone of killing your husband, would you just take their word for it after hearing they didn't remember? Personally I'd need a bit more convincing than "honestly, I don't know." Dean was worried but played it cool, acquiescing to his brother's need to fix what he deemed broken, but still continuing to reiterate the need for them to move on and let someone else handle it -- especially after figuring out that Sam was the connection between the victims. Sam, listen to Dean. Sam's soul wouldn't let him bail, and Dean understood that, so backed him up. I hope Sam learns something from this, but alas, that's not the pattern.

All in all, I'm looking at this ep as a bridge connecting what was and what is. Sam now has his soul and needs to focus on the job ahead -- megamonsters, Mother of All, War in Heaven, etc. Just like when Dean came back, they have a job to do and no time to dwell on what happened in the past. Compartmentalize and move on. The Winchester way. Not saying Sam should just get over it, but he needs to learn not to scratch the wall because it ain't gonna be pretty.

I didn't think they'd really go with actual mannequins next week! That looks much more fun than I anticipated!

    ReplyDelete
  52. Wow! I think I'm going to have to come back with actual thoughts cause right now...Nothing coherent. Other than....expectations met.

    ReplyDelete
  53. almost spit water all over my keyboard.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Uhhh...you DO know that Sam didn't sit there and lie to Dean throughout the entire episode? He actually DID tell him that he remembered. Sam isn't the only one who's guilty of lying, just sayin. So yeah, don't sit around and throw all the blame on Sam.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Yeah i agree 'SuePo' *waves*

'I think the writers missed a great opportunity for the brothers to re-bond by focusing completely on the memories and Sam's reaction and totally missing Dean's. And I wonder when Sam will learn not to lie to his brother about things that may just turn out to be important.... like remembering the past year after he very adamantly told you how dangerous it could be. Don't make the same mistakes all over again!'

Yeah....the bond wasn't really there tonight, was it....I think we were mostly locked up in Sammy's headspace....either that, or....Dean nipped out for Coffee, and forgot to come back.....How else was Sammy supposed to entertain us :D

As for the lies......Sammy is def carrying this weight all on his own....The guilt must be that great for him...it's sad.....Dean is there to shoulder the burden with him....thats Sammy and his control issues for ya.

'but I thought he sheriff's wife bought into it a little too easily. If you'd spent a year suspecting someone of killing your husband, would you just take their word for it after hearing they didn't remember? Personally I'd need a bit more convincing than "honestly, I don't know.'

oh i'm so there with you.....i laughed when she let him out....i was like......Seriously........What.....Man you are Naive......Oh hang on......It must of been the PUPPY EYES......They were turned up to eleven tonight......no one resists the puppy eyes....they're like a jedi mind trick......ask Dean!!! :D

'Dean was worried but played it cool, acquiescing to his brother's need to fix what he deemed broken, but still continuing to reiterate the need for them to move on and let someone else handle it -- especially after figuring out that Sam was the connection between the victims. Sam, listen to Dean. Sam's soul wouldn't let him bail, and Dean understood that, so backed him up'

Yeah that was cool....they are a lot more mature about that stuff now......Normally there would be a massive argument......Sammy would bitch face, and Dean would storm off.....but he listened to him tonight.....he saw the guilt and pain in him....actually no......they John Winchestered at each other for a bit.....then Sammy 'Slammed' him with the Puppy Eyes....that's when he saw the guilt and pain in him.....Extra WIN for character growth!!!

As for the BRO stuff....it was there, just on a really low heat...We still had protective Sam at the end, and Worried Dean....that counts right....c'mon Sam was distracted :))

i can't wait for the mannequins either :D

    Loved your comments 'SuePo' <33

  56. Hi Rochey :)

I wouldn't have said the episode was weak.....just.....well....it was so different to Like A Virgin....
    last week we had:
Dean scaling rocks, wrestling with a sword, blowing up a sword,
Some of the most truly epic one liners of the season so far,
    Sam getting his soul back
And a real, genuine, Sam and Dean-type manhug (not to be confused with your everyday average manhug where no real affection is ever exchanged)

We had a glimpse of resouled Sammy (and weren't we all so ready for that?) But this week was a complete contrast to that..... now we're suddenly confronted with RoboSam in action.

No humor at all in this one.
    No oneliners to chuckle at.
Not even any physical humor (don't think the sex-in-the-bathroom scene really counts)
Just a straight up monster of the week, and it's debatable whether the biggest monster is the arachne or RoboSam.
Grandpa Creepy being seriously...well.... creepy....and how could he just do nothing?

And then that substandard dry wall starts crumbling before our eyes.......seriously Death...you're older than god and you can't come up with the premium quality stuff?

I do see where you're coming from Rochey, truly I do, but I'm just relieved we've seen exactly what RoboSam was capable of when it came to the average civilian (as opposed to his own family) Hopefully now we've done that we can go on with the story and focus on keeping that drywall intact.

Hey and about you being bitchy? You're allowed to say what you think/feel....that's why we come to SpoilerTV...cause we know we can share our opinion without someone shooting us down.....

    ReplyDelete
  57. I can barely even from coherent words... this was the most epic MOTW for a while... God, spiders creep me out!

I was soo amazing!! And the last scene!! I was soo shocked, OOOMMMMMGGGG!!!!

    The episode was beyond awesome!!!

    ReplyDelete
  58. Love your rants!!!!

Agree that this was a weak episode, not bad .. but not even close to great at all.

Call me cynical...sometimes a homicidal maniac is the right man for the job...

Personally, I don't think killing (or letting some one kill them) the Arachne victims/ people/ future arachne was so horrible....they were beyond saving. If they were in pain and dying it was a mercy killing... If Sam and Samuel knew they were going to turn into arachne themselves it was right to off the soon-to-be monsters. What were they going to do with them? Is there some sort of a half-way house for half-spider/ half-human half-monsters? Monster rehab with Dr. Drew? Um... not so much. Not many humans WANT to be turned into a killer monster... or the victim of one... or worse yet, to turn into a monster and then turn your loved ones into victims of the "new you".

The 'horrible' part to me was the complete disregard for the victims and lack of thought and compassion before doing it. If Sam thought about it and wanted to end the pain and/or stop them from turning, he should have realized that he needed to separate them from their heads in addition to shooting them t end their pain. To me killing them was the right thing to do...but the fact he did not even care enough to think it through and do it properly... just nonchalantly shot them... THAT was HORRIBLE.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Sometimes I think the writers want us to accept that even though 99% of people may not forgive (immediately) Sam with "honestly, I don't know", the Sheriff's wife totally would. Either that or she fell under the spell of his puppy dog look.... Felt too easy to me too.

If we all had a dollar for every time one of us said something along the lines of "I hope (insert name) Winchester has finally learned his lesson", we would all be millionaires and buy advertising for SPN... and their would be a run on people buying 1967 black Impalas.....

Would love if it was A bridge episode and not the first of a few....

    Next week should be better...

    ReplyDelete
  60. I didn't really like the episode.. am I the only one here?

I mean it was really slow paced, kindda repetitive (with the whole - "I gotta set things straight here cuz I did this bla bla bla" - "Sammy it wast you! let get out of here..." "no dean but yada yada yada ~~!!!!")

the only exciting thing about the episode is the end that made me go "WHAAAATTT" but than I so the promo for next week so I guess Sam is not a vegetable.

Next week looks cool though ! I always thought mannequins are creepy as hell. standing there all still and perfect with a constant frozen expression on their faces.
and thing with Ben and Dean you gotta love it...

    ReplyDelete
  61. Completely understand what you are saying.. I did not dislike it, but I really didn't like it either. I thought I may be the only one that thought it was very slow. I don't watch previews to avoid spoilery usually.... but even I saw that Sammy didn't look ruined. So the best scene in the episode (wall crumbling final scene) lost its impact...

    ReplyDelete
  62. Last scene....O_O OMG!!! Sam,you shouldn't have started digging into what you've done buddy...once again,OMG!!!

    ReplyDelete
  63. I voted awesome, if only for the last 30 seconds. Did not see that coming! Well, ok, I did, eventually, but not this soon! And ok, that wasn't the only reason I voted awesome. I loved this episode, the whole 'whodunnit' aspect. And now I really, REALLY cannot wait for next week.

    ReplyDelete
  64. wooooooooooooooooooooooow that was awesome
i knew Sam would remember hell but not so fast
i was shocked pretty much the hole episode
first with what Sam did when he was soulless , and then with Samuel just standing there not doing anythng then with Sam falling down and remembering hell
wow this season just getting stronger & stronger every episode

    ReplyDelete
  65. Solid motw episode. I was sceptical about the necessity for a flashback but I guess it was about Sam learning that if he tries to remember there will be consequences. And the spiders were a fast improvement over the lame dragons. The actor who played spider sherriff was really good.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Or Death was not kidding when he said 'Don't scratch the wall'. And I guess trying to remember other stuff from the last year and having flashbacks simply counts as knocking at the wall with a sledge hammer. Lol

    ReplyDelete
  67. Or it just has a tiny crack...

    ReplyDelete
  68. Do you think Sam has learned his lesson? ;D

    ReplyDelete
  69. The score was great. Samuel was the only thing that was disturbing about this episode.

    ReplyDelete
  70. sigh* Sam's leaking? Already? Wow and I thought he got back his soul too soon lol. Seems like they're really rushing this season, just throwing stuff at us, the good the bad and the 's'fuck is Samuel doin alive?' When I realized it was going to be a case fic I was hyped! :D However, As far as Dean half assed totally shot down attempts to be protective went, I found it lacking a little you know? Supernatural ALWAYS leaves me satisfied with laughs, drama and squeamish moments but the entire episode I was practically clinging to every scene looking for minor details that would send those giddy shivers through me, none...*pout.

Soulless Sammy was, well, he's a sex addict, which was a given from his introduction :P I found most of the ep predictable. As soon as I saw the way that married cougar was eyeing Sam I was like 'He so screwed her' and so said so done. And the victims all having slept with Sam, hmph.

Blah Blah Blah....Sam has a seizure or something after a very sweet brotherly banter. Dean totally face-blocked me, all that broad back in my way! I wanted to see Sammy's face a little before I saw Sera Gambles name squished between the other two. Next ep, Puppets apparently and Sam's magically all better again :( I AM STILL PSYCHED! This episode might've been a casual drag but nothing can keep my away from SPN :)

  72. Loved this episode. The flashbacks had kind of a Hitchcock/ horror movie feel, which I liked. The monster was sufficiently creepy and one we haven't seen before. We squeezed in a mini Sammy sex scene. Nice dynamic between the brothers. Whereas last week the rebonding may have seemed a smidgen forced, this week it seemed really comfortable. They were in synch and working together again. Liked how Sam didn't overreact and was honest to Dean about what he needed (to stay in town and figure this out). Liked how Dean didn't try to shove his point of view down Sam's throat but instead listened to what Sam was saying and stayed to back him up. And the ending - WTF? I didn't see that one coming so soon! Right now this is ranking as my favorite episode this season.

  73. *sigh*
Seriously? After Dean flat out lied to Sam over and over again last week you saw lying here?

As for the comment that Sam should listen to Dean. I saw Sam's listening face on the screen. He listened, learned what the stakes are, but decided that because this is his soul and his life at stake, he's the one who gets to make this decision. And I agree. Sam's an adult.

  74. I'm also more sympathetic to Grandpa than most of the people on this board seem to be. I can't reconcile his logic in trying to bring back Mary, or in sacrificing his grandkids, but I didn't find fault with his actions tonight. He's a hunter and probably used to hanging out with hunters who are more violent than Sam and Dean. Remember Gordon anyone? Grandpa was sufficiently disturbed and called Sam on it - more than once. Sam moved pretty quickly and Samuel at this point was probably still getting to know Sam, so he probably didn't see a lot of this coming and didn't have much time to react.

  75. Seems like the wall is going to be crumbling slowly. Maybe we'll get more on RoboSam watching Dean, and learn why RoboSam decided he wanted to start hunting with Dean again, later in the season.

  76. I personally loved this episode!

Maybe because I lowered my expectations for this episode and it´s been exceeded (I had to high hopes for like a virgin and even if I wasn´t exactly disappointed I had some points I didn´t agree with).

First of all: The ending. Good Lord, I wasn´t expecting this! I don´t think the wall broke, though. I´ve seen the promo for next week and Sam seemed fine. No way he would be walking around like that if the wall really broke. I think this was more of a warning sign to stop scratching.

With brings me to my next think: the brotherly bond. Some people expressed, that they missed the brotherly bond this epi. I didn´t. Ok, there was no hug or something like that. But I loved the discussion they had in the motel room. Dean was dead serious to leave this case behind in order to protect his brother. Sam asking him to back him up, Dean agreeing. That´d been the brothers I remembered from the first seasons. After the season opening, where we somewhat got to see what Dean did the last year, I was glad, that we got an inside on Sam. Even if it wasn´t pretty. Now, after seeing what may happen to Sam, Dean will never again touch territory with anything relating to RoboSam.

Wich brings me to RoboSam (you get the pattern?) :D : We all knew, RoboSam didn´t care for anything, not even Dean. So his actions haven´t been really any surprises to me, except that the writers tried to make him look overly unsympathetic so that souled Sam seemed the more caring (for me that wouldn´t have been necessary, but be it as it may...). But that man got laid, jeez, even Dean was impressed! I read somewhere down here that RoboSam shouldn´t have just killed the people in cold blood but do some research on how to get rid of the spider, because that´s what Sam would have done. RoboSam wasn´t Sam. He assumed that the guys were still people not spiders and that they were unsalvageable, so the logical thing was to shoot them - and yes, this was just a calculated, cold act. Even grandpa creepy - the super hunter didn´t know better.

Wich brings me to grandpa beyond-creepy: No matter how much they try to show the soft side of gradpa, after selling the boys out, I just can´t feel sorry for that character anymore. He could have tried to go against RoboSam (if he´d succeed would be another story), but he just didn´t. He stood there, blaming Sam to be cold, while he - the warm, fuzzy guy - did everything....to do nothing! Which brings me to the conclusion: He used RoboSam! He may not agree with the way he did things, but it was like a weapon to him. It got things done. And you do not do this with your own grandsons! Sorry grandpa, no empathy from me....and I still hope Bobby kicks your ass and leave you out in the cold.

Wich brings me to cold (hey, you still reading? You brave one!): I can´t remember the last spn episode where it snowed. Ok, very unimportand in the grand scheme, I´ll admitt. But since I am a detail-junkie, I found it funny how the boys marched in this snow dressed only in shirts and a light jacket. Not long ago we had this snow in my country, and let me tell you, I used to wear like five layers of cloth :)
Ok, The Dean does not need clothes! And the Sam takes after big brother. I sat there shivering just watching the scene, but then again, I am a wussy.

And finally the enemy: Way better than the dragons. Still human form spider but way creepier than what we´ve seen this season so far....and I am no fan of spiders!

All in all, I loved this episode and it left me with the desperate need for next friday to come fast, faster the fastest (spelled correctly?)...

  78. I loved this episode more than last week's and I just did not think that was possible! What an ending! Poor Sam! I wonder what will happen next week! I wish the episode could have lasted just a little while longer to see what was going to happen!

  79. Hi Jillyanne *glomps*

'And a real, genuine, Sam and Dean-type manhug (not to be confused with your everyday average manhug where no real affection is ever exchanged)'

Oh....i still haven't got past that....it was so special....i still have those little imaginary love hearts floating around my head.....i'm even trying to hug myself to get the same effect....no dice so far :D

'No humor at all in this one.
    No oneliners to chuckle at.
Not even any physical humor (don't think the sex-in-the-bathroom scene really counts)
Just a straight up monster of the week, and it's debatable whether the biggest monster is the arachne or RoboSam.
Grandpa Creepy being seriously...well.... creepy....and how could he just do nothing?'

The humor was sorely missed...i can't think of one quotable line:((

It was a dark episode cause HELLO Bladerunner....i understand that....and the DENIAL train left the station a long time ago for me..... and Poor Sammy having to remember was traumatic for him....I dunno.....even though i knew all this....that wasn't even the problem.......It was flat and extremely slow moving IMO.

Oh theres no debate for me on who the bigger monster was....Deffo Bladerunner and his chilling "Get the gasoline"

    Oh cool...are we having a barbecue? .....oh...OH....suddenly i'm not so hungry :((

As for GrandPa Creepy......everyones forgetting...he 'knows' about Sam having no soul.....so he's essentially pretending.....but RoboSam is also pretending with GrandPa Creepy.....i dunno it's getting very complicated......lets say they're playing each other.

Yeah doing nothing didn't really surprise me.......It's GrandPa Creepy.......Also would you want that 'Homicidal Maniac' to turn those Cold calculating eyes on you....i know i wouldn't.....unless they were those"i have to use my cuffs on you" eyes or the sincere 'puppy eyes'...well....then....No deal.

MAN.....RoboSam was f**kin CREEPY last night....and this is from someone who watched the EVIL DEAD yesterday....how he managed to out creep that movie i'll never know :((

Back to GrandPa Creepy....Uh....Dude you do know she's your daughter right?

Oh...Ok....my mistake....It's not like you're acting like you're totally obsessed or anything...cause that would be Sooo Freaky *nervous laughing*

'And then that substandard dry wall starts crumbling before our eyes.......seriously Death...you're older than god and you can't come up with the premium quality stuff?'

I know right........DEATH is a total 'Cowboy'.........Lesson number 1....Never buy your drywall from Death :))

Lesson number 2.....Don't PISS DEATH OFF PERIOD!!!

Lesson number 3........recognise that Bladerunner was a total MANWHORE....I mean REALLY.......Sammy wasn't left with just traumatic memories....A case of the CLAP was included :D

I suppose the thing that got me was Sam's sincere "It WAS me Dean"

Right he's taking responsibility....cause there's a mess to be cleaned up by his hands......but HE'S TAKING RESPONSIBILITY.....i can't really reconcile that....i mean it was and wasn't his fault....i'm struggling with that....ya know ?

The best thing about the episode was when Sammy had the flashback about GrandPa being reeeally creepy, and Bladerunner telling the cop/wife about his family....."family slow ya down"....when it ended and we were back to Sammy....his poor face....he looked really upset and sad that he said that....and i got warm tingly feelings cause it's SAMMY....and he'd never think that <33

Right so did this post make up for the epically short one i posted, which i am in no way inclined to do.....ever....ya see it's that Bladerunner....he's a bad influence on me :))

  81. Hey 'MojoMe'........Hey is that name like the helper monkey in the simsons ?

No you're not the only one....I agree with everything you said, and i'm normally a total pushover when it comes to SUPERNATURAL.

C'mon i loved the '2 men and a baby episode'....Don't hit me in disgust.

    *runs from inevitable beating*

Yeah i agree the 'leaking wall' was the best bit....but i also like how the brothers worked together despite Dean's reluctance to do so.....I also like how we see with Sammy....that his protectiveness towards his brother is second nature to him.......when i see that i totally forget about what RoboSam's feelings/action on that are :((

The only thing that is 'creeping' me out...welll....besides RoboSam....is GrandPa Creepy's creepy fixation with his daughter that just keeps rising....no pun intended :))

Thanks for the comments...loved reading them <33

  82. Ha! Rochey! Love the rant!! And I think you're right on target. Gpa Creepy allowed RoboSam to act that way because he knew. Crowley knew so Gpa probably knew and was following orders to use Sam. Maybe he was supposed to try to get him to get Dean into it, too, but didn't. That would actually be a redeeming act for Gpa.

I'm wondering if no soul=manwhore, too. :) And the flashbacks did make RoboSam seem like uberhunter, but I don't think hunters are just about the killing. Like Dean stated a long time ago "...saving people, hunting things, the family business." To the Winchesters, saving people came first. Even John, for as bad a father as he was, stressed the importance of saving the victims. RoboSam was all about the killing. IMO, that made him a better killer, not hunter.

And you're not being bitchy -- just honest. And I agree!!! *hugs back* See, we're all one big happy family. :)

  83. Hi 'darq' *waves*

'Call me cynical...sometimes a homicidal maniac is the right man for the job...'

Oh yeah def....but would you wanna turn your back on said Homicidal Maniac.....yeah....didn't think so :))

'The 'horrible' part to me was the complete disregard for the victims and lack of thought and compassion before doing it. If Sam thought about it and wanted to end the pain and/or stop them from turning, he should have realized that he needed to separate them from their heads in addition to shooting them to end their pain. To me killing them was the right thing to do...but the fact he did not even care enough to think it through and do it properly... just nonchalantly shot them... THAT was HORRIBLE.'

Yeah...totally agree.....that would be the humane thing to do....But it's BLADERUNNER....He doesn't see humans....he sees numbers that don't fit into his calculations....hence shooting in the head, and 2 for the last victim just to be sure.....or maybe letting off some of the pent up energy he's got....sex clearly isn't helping...but it's RoboSam...ya can never be too sure :))

Hey do ya reckon if RoboSam looked at ya....you'd die of fright and creepiness....Man those eyes *shudders*

    thanks 'darq' <33

  84. This episode has really made me appreciate Sam with a soul. I hope we never ever have to see soulless Sam again! As funny as he is, I will take Sammy's puppy eyes any day!

Spiders. Why did it have to be spiders? I hate those disgusting things.

This episode was done beautifully. I loved how they put in the flashbacks that helped Sam to solve the hunt and the dynamic between them is so much better now that Sam has a soul. I smile every time I see them talking :P

  85. No, you're not alone. I'm a dyed in the wool fan, but there are always one or two eps a season that I can take a pass on. this is probably one of them. It was necessary in the whole 'move the story arc along, kind of way, but not one of my favorites. I agree it was a kind of 'been there, done that' kind of ep. Back to the hiding important things and going behind backs. And yea, I'm aware Dean was lying to Sam last week, but I think that was different. Dean was not telling him what happened for fear of the wall crumbling... hey look! He was right! Sam was hiding his resurgent memories about the case because... well, I'm not sure why. Because that's Sam's normal MO? At least he finally came clean, but Dean had already gotten the connection by then.

I didn't not like it, but it won't be one I watch over and over. It was a bridge to make a point about RoboSam and how bad he was and how hard it will be for Sam to overcome it, but I think we'd already gotten that, so...

Yes! Looking forward to the Mannequins! And I forgot this was the one Dean gets a call from Ben. Should be a little more interesting.

    ReplyDelete
  86. Uh, yeah. I noticed Sam didn't lie thru the whole ep, but it was his first reaction when he started to remember stuff. He only told the truth after Dean had already figured out the connection. And I'm not 'blaming' Sam. Geesh. It's how he is. It's how he's always been. And yeah, Dean was lying last week -- but he did it to protect Sam, not to hide anything. The wall was put there by Death to keep all those memories at bay for a reason. Nobody knows what will trigger the wall to collapse so Dean was just trying to keep Sam from hurting himself. Turns out he was right.

Oh...you're right on the money SuePo there....he knew everything...It all came out in 'caged Heat'.....he was just making 'observations' about RoboSam in the moment......total player.....but gotta laugh at RoboSam's "i'm so smart.....it's just a business relationship......i don't care....oh...and i totally love myself, and i'm as cocky as f**k"

well...i think thats the gist.....anyway.....he thinks he's using everybody....but he's geting 'played' Big time.....ya see he didn't factor in all the variables....f**kin IDIOT :))

Also about the Dean thing...i dunno...i'm not giving him the least bit of credit in regards to his grand son....prob part of the plan.

'I'm wondering if no soul=manwhore, too. :) And the flashbacks did make RoboSam seem like uberhunter'

Hahahahaha..........def...if thats the case please take my soul so i can be a total Nympho and i can sleep around and not have to worry about STD'S and getting pregnant:))

As for the 'RoboSam' thing....he's like the 'ultimate adrenaline junkie'.....he's got so much pent up energy....he doesn't sleep....has sex like it's going out of style......hunts single minded and ruthlessly........It's all a 'Rush' for him....he's def getting off on all of the above and it feeds his MASSIVE EGO.....seriously if he was chocolate he'd eat himself :))

He's dangerous to be around cause he's unpredictable and out for himself....Dean will tell you that......as for the 'Jiminy cricket' thing with Dean.......RoboSam ALLOWED it :((

yeah so in conclusion a MASSIVE CREEPY f**KER....thats my 2 cent on that :))

Awww thanks......but blame Bladerunner for the bitchiness this week...it's all his fault like most things....If i do/say something wrong for the forseeable....It's Bladerunners fault...cause...it just is :D

I was extra bitchy this week so my penance is to give out free hugs :))

    *Hugs chris684*

Yeah....i agree....they need to answer that, cause it doesn't make any sense....why would RoboSam go anywhere near Dean....He doesn't care at all....yet he was outside Lisa's house....and i'm not buying the i'm only watching Dean so he doesn't try to find me S**t....seriously dude you're outside Lisa's house!!!!

I think i have a theory on that though.........RoboSam realised that there was something wrong with him.....decided Dean is the ultimate source of Love/care, so went to find Dean.......Saw Dean and realised that Love/care wasn't there....resigned to that fact, left and went about his business....meanwhile Dean sits at the table looking suicidally depressed, and we cry for him.

So what do ya think......Could i be on to something ?

You're probably going to laugh at how much thought I've put into this. Let's just say I've had some extra time on my hands recently. Bobby's reaction last week bothered me a little, so I spent some time rewatching some of the older episodes and have some thoughts on this...

    Starting at the beginning...

So we have Sam growing up feeling damaged. He's not sure why. He just knows that he feels different from his brother and father and his father is overprotective - like he's a sick child. His brother and father both live in the world of black and white. You're good or you're a monster/You either have to save Sam or kill him. Sam grows up with a split dynamic in his personality. One the one hand he's got a very gentle soul. On the other hand he has this darkness that Azazel infected him with.

Through most of his life he tries various coping mechanisms. He tries running but that doesn't work. He develops an addiction with the substance that originally damaged him.

Near the end of season 4 we see him and those around him try to reconcile these different sides. Dean won't accept that the demon blood is not just a behavior but is part of him. If it's part of him then Sam is a monster. Again, the black and white. Bobby argues that detoxing the demon blood (or trying to make Sam deny that part of himself) is killing Sam.

Sam asks Dean to come with him and Ruby to kill Lilleth (in other words, accept Ruby's place in Sam's life, or his demon side). Dean won't do it and Sam loses the balance in himself when he doesn't have Dean's influence. As a result, he makes some bad decisions and lets Lucifer out the cage.

Suppose while in Hell with Lucifer the demon side of Sam got much stronger. Maybe even Sam needed those demon powers to survive there. The soul, which was able to keep the demon side under control previously, is no longer able to do that. Sam, still influenced by Dean and John's black/white view is unable to reconcile these two sides and accept the evil, so with his crazy psychic chemistry, he actually physically splits so that that the evil in his body and his soul are two separate entities.

So he returns and Dean can't accept that RoboSam could be in part Sam. He sees RoboSam as a completely different entity. (I've been on Dean's side on this for most of this season, but I'm starting to rethink this.) Bobby sees it differently - that it's not all Sam, but it's part of Sam.

So now Sam's united and he's got to reconcile these two sides if he's going to heal and not split apart again.

  93. I think I'm more cynical when it comes to RoboSam than you are. I don't think he ever wanted to find love/care or his soul. For me, the questions aren't only about him watching Lisa's house. At the beginning of the season he made a few comments encouraging Dean to start hunting with him again. He also made a comment - I think it was in All Dogs - that went something like this - he doesn't care about Dean but needs his help (didn't say with what).

I just got the feeling through most of the first half of the season that RoboSam was playing Dean for some purpose that hasn't been revealed yet.

    ReplyDelete
  94. yeah...i like that theory...it's really clever and i respect it, but i kinda disagree.

I mean the show puts 'excuses' in Sam's way so he can act immoral....they wouldn't need to do this if it was just Sam.....the demon blood is there so he can have an excuse for betraying Dean and straddling the dark side....Ruby is just there as a means to an end.....the reason he won't let Dean kill her isn't because he cares, but because he's using her as a food/energy source......She knows he won't follow her without bribery...so she bribes him with being able to stop Dean from going to hell....when that doesn't work....she gets him hooked on Demon Blood so he'll need to keep her around....She used his feelings for Dean, and his desperation for vengence against him.

The downside is, that the feeling that the demon blood gives him is an addiction....makes him feel powerful and in control....feeds his ego....clouds his judgement and his mind....frees him from his humanity.

Then they take his 'soul' from him so he can do what he wants...i mean the writers can't have him irredeemable, so they give him excuses, but they are also showing us that this could be anyone without a soul.

I agree that Sammy has darkness in him and rage....but i think what stops that consuming him, is the fact that he FEELS SOOOO MUCH for others, and his bond with his brother.....

Kripke said that Supernatural is 'STAR WARS' in a truckstop.....So Dean is 'Hans Solo' and that makes Sam 'Luke Skywalker'....He has the potential for evil in him, but he won't fall to it in the end without coercion or trickery.

thinking more about my "dean it WAS me" ...i dunno...i'm thinking....maybe this is Sam's way of dealing with this....He's not gonna run this time......he's done running, and maybe if he faces it head on this time....there can be some growth and personal strength in it.

He can't walk away because he FEELS TOO MUCH and that's Sammy's saving grace right there.....this is what separates him from RoboSam and how the writers IMO have portrayed this....We see how decent/caring/loving and ultimately 'GOOD' Sammy is, even with the demon blood in his veins....we essentially see what makes Sam SAM.....and we also see how unique and 'precious' the soul is, and how having that little ball of 'light' sets us apart from Angels/Demons/Monsters....The question is why us?

Why did God give us souls, and leave the angels with none.....was it like a science experiment, and he forgot an important component ?

I do like what you said though <33

  95. Well, I didn't like this episode. Not even a little.
The music in this show has gone to shit. I couldn't believe how awful that was the entire episode! It's been at least ok so far this season, but that was ridiculous. Also, Sam's emotional intensity was overkill throughout the episode. I miss last week's episode, where he was more understated and believable. I was so happy about the way Jared was portraying him in Like A Virgin, and then...ugh... we get this again... And the storyline went from interesting and mysterious to cheesy really fast. That damn "spider silk" that they were trapped in completely pissed me off.. They can make a chopped off head look real but not some spider's web stuff? come on, this show does gross so well and suddenly we get dry pillow stuffing to surround the people with?

The whole episode just took me out of the plot... I think I dislike this episode as much as The Third Man...and maybe even Bugs...

  96. We weren't supposed to like Bladerunner, that was the whole point. Well done, IMO. If he were chocolate, he'd eat himself. :)))) love that!! It was seriously all ego and no emotion. So yeah, RoboSam was creepy and I for one saw very little redeeming qualities in him. I didn't think he was hot, just sad and narcissistic. Not attractive qualities in my book. But that was the intent, so that's what I got from him.

Your 2 cents is worth a hell of a lot more!!

  97. I'm not trying to start a fight with you. I didn't post about Dean's lying last week because it's an understandable human reaction. But I disagree your statements here.

Dean knew that Sam would find out eventually about RoboSam. Bobby made that clear. He lied anyway, knowing that Sam would feel worse when he did find out, because Dean needed that brief reprieve - that feeling that everything was right with his family. He did it for himself, not for Sam. If Dean had been honest, he could have controlled the conversation rather than making Sam fish around for info from Bobby and Cas. So Dean wasn't right. As I said, I'm not blaming him, but my impression was that overall both boys seemed more honest this week than last.

    ReplyDelete
  98. yeah me too....but now i'm starting to think that they were 'red herrring's' and 'misdirection'....essentially keeping the fans on their toes....Sam's outside the house, so we know he's back....flickering light is there to make us question why.

Sam's pushing dean to hunt again is also so we suspect that he has an agenda....he does...just not the one we're thinking....he wants Dean to hunt with him because 2 hands are better than 1....also he knows Dean's buttons, and he can manipulate him....also it's a way of geting Dean back on the road and away from the domestic stuff, and to mirror the pilot episode and the brothers.

The soul stuff goes like this......He now knows he has no Soul....but theres some dicey moments where you're thinking, is he working with Crowley....evil....lucifer....possessed.....he wants his soul to begin with....then he starts to realise he's better without it......He hears the consequences of having his soul again.....decides he wants to be RoboSam forever and always....Dean's around cause the show needs him around...also Sam's not done using him/realises it's better with Dean cause he can do what he wants....Dean's moaning aside....WOW how wrong was he :D

As for the stalking Dean....i'm thinking science experiment, and a way to test his theory......If he feels he's fine....if he doesn't....he's broken....now he knows, and can get on with his business.

I did entertain split/doppelganger Sam for a little bit....but not anymore....I think this is Sam...da rest was misdirection for the audience......It would be great if it wasn't, so i could Retcon RoboSam out of existence...but alas i don't think i will be :(((

  99. *hangs head in shame*

i found him hot......sometimes....but i hate myself for it....thats gotta count for something right :))

No...you're right...there's nothing redeemable about him at all.....he has the worst personality traits of a human....but turned up to eleven.

Yeah....completely in love with himself.....i wouldn't be surprised if he carried a mirror around with him so he could admire himself...like....all the time.

We're supposed to not like him....He's not a nice person and it also shows us how inherently 'GOOD' Sammy is, even with his flaws...It also shows us how unique and 'precious' the soul is, and what we would be like without it.

FYI: anyone who liked 'RoboSam' past a 'shallow' point of view....gotta say, the show has failed you...hang your head in shame....also you're sick...sick...sick :D

  100. I agree with a lot of what you said and don't think it contradicts my theory. A few points though -

"the show puts 'excuses' in Sam's way so he can act immoral....they wouldn't need to do this if it was just Sam."

I think Sam, rather than the show, puts excuses out there because of his internal conflict. He's Dr. Jeckyll and Mr. Hyde. Drinking the demon blood was a way for him to rationalize using powers that he believed were evil. It was a way of distancing himself from them. It became about something he drank rather than about being about something that was already inside of him. Sam's weak spot is that he grew up feeling damaged. He now has an excessive psychological need to feel more powerful, which is why he became addicted to the demon blood.

I'm not sure I agree that he ever really betrayed Dean when he had his soul. He was always pretty upfront with Dean on wanting to follow Ruby but Dean was at times unflexible. Sam sometimes hid his behavior but that was because Dean made it clear that he didn't approve. Hiding something like this is not ideal behavior but it's human nature. Personally I wouldn't call it a betrayal, although Dean saw it that way.

I agree with the rest of what you wrote about Ruby and the demon blood addiction.

As for the lack of the soul and whether anyone without a soul would have acted like this, I'm not sure about that. We'll find out more about this as the season goes on. I was seeing something more sinister in RoboSam than just the lack of a moral compass. I guess we'll find out.

  102. I don't know...I never felt like that messed with her legacy...She didn't know the repercussions of her choices, and you gotta remember she is still human...and to lose every single person you love in one night would probably kill you.

  103. I'm with Samuel on this one. If he had tried to stop Sam from putting those people out of their misery, or killing the cop, Sam would've killed him.

In other news, I still think the man should die for his sins against humanity. lol

  104. i just think sam only confuse at first, u know amnesia will confuse with the memory when they came.., when he first saw the road sign he just feel familiar!!! then he start have a flashback.., but he just not sure.., its not like us watching on tv, we see and know everything, for the amnesia person (in this case "sam") it just piece of memory n jumped 1-2 or 3-1 not complete as we seen, need a time to reconnect that piece of memory, then he reconnect with dean..., i dont see any lie here, but yeah sam was so stubborn he insist want to fix his mistake as robo-sam as a human that understandable (if we make a mistake but we dont remember we will do anything to know) then when he know its worse than he though maybe he will learn to not scratch the wall..., but the wall will collapse anyway O_o

dont mean to argue with u :D *HUG*

    love this epi :)

  107. I agree with most of what you said just not as strongly maybe.... I thought the score music was terrible too. It made the episode feel very cheap and the spider webbing etc did not help that cause much. I just enjoyed Pileggi so much maybe I was distracted from the other stuff. Have faith that next week will be better.... Assuming the writers learn their lessons faster than the Winchester boys! LOL

    ReplyDelete
  108. Oh i agree...it was a way for Sam to put the blame and responsibility to one side....He was essentially in DENIAL

It also played into the control issues that he has, and i agree that they stem from childhood...but they also stem from the demon blood in his veins...Evil corrupts...you want more power and control.

But including the 'Demon blood' plot into the show and now the 'no soul' plot gives Sam's character the excuse to do the immoral, but also gives him leeway to do the redemption thing too....This is more for the audiences benefit IMO

If Sam said "right Dean...i wanna be evil...i'm fine...i'm not drinking demon blood...i have a soul but i wanna be evil"

Well ya see, ya can't come back from that.....so throw in excuses/manipulation/poor judgement...and ya can...hence redemption.

as for betraying dean...you're right that was harsh.....he didn't...it's just easier to say than what i'm gonna next :D

They fought when Sam wouldn't listen...He choked Dean, but that was to show the audience that Sam wasn't in his right mind....and i noticed this cause throughtout the show the only time Sam ever attacked his brother was when he was under the influence of possession/Demon blood......so this shows you how ill Sam was.

He regrets it immediately afterwards, so we can see he's still Sam, just not in his right mind....but for how bad the relationship was between them in Season 4....if you look closely....It all came back to Dean...So i find it so sad, but i also wanna strangle Sam for his stupidity, and poor judgement.

He wants Lilith cause He 'lost' Dean, and in a way he wants to punish her for the pain she caused him, and for making him choose the path he never wanted to travel...It just so happens that it mirrors the heaven situation, but no way am i going there, cause that's like having a debate about Terminator and time travel :D

There is def responsibility in all this, but it stops the audience from turning against one of the main characters and gives him sympathy :((

As for the soul thing....i gotta strongly disagree with ya there....IMO.....the show was showing how much worse 'RoboSam' was becoming without one...it's a slow dark process, and we'd all head that way eventually without one......no guilt/remorse/empathy for anything =total disaster and carnage......Lucifer wouldn't need to nuke the planet, we would....Earth would become a second hell.

And imagine if 'Raphael' got what he wanted and restarted the apocalypse....Lucifer's out again, and there would be no stopping him this time because hello RoboSam...And LOVE saved the day last time...that was God's TEST for humanity....RoboSam would fail that test and then some. It would be a F**kin disaster :((

  109. 'Sam's emotional intensity was overkill throughout the episode'

Do ya not think that it would be weird and OOC if it wasn't......I mean Sam FEEL'S SO MUCH and thats what sets him apart from 'RoboSam'....He's highly emotional...always has been.

As for the effects...yeah i agree....The CW are such TOOLS...oh...'gossip girl' gets a trip to Paris...what do we get....They should be really ASHAMED of themselves...Their pathetic favouritism is embarassing....and Supernatural P***es all over Gossip girl, and lights a match just to be sure....Absolute MORONS :((

  112. Hi Airbat :)
    I loved the episode too....
Once I got past that last few seconds of Sam burning in hell my initial thought was....'What the....?'
But when I thought about it, last week's episode was so chock full of STUFF: Sammy, hugs, one liners, hilarity, MoTW, Mother of All.....
Unforgiven was a huge change of pace...waaay different to last week. But once I got my head around that, I really started to appreciate what the episode was showing us:
That RoboSam was clearly just a serial killing manwhore,
That Grandpa Creepy was seriously creepy (just in case we hadn't noticed it before) and deserves whatever he gets.....take him OUT Dean....,
That we still get a MoTW...I'll forgive them the fake spider web because those spidey eyes were awesome....
That the wall in Sammy's head is not even close to being strong enough to contain the horror of hell.....
That, despite the low budget, Supernatural manages some areas of greatness....those b&w flashbacks were awesome and the editing was fantastic....

    My next thought is:
If everyone's heaven is different, then obviously everyone's hell must be too....shouldn't it?
And Sam's experience is gonna be hugely different from Dean's anyway - what with being locked up with Michael and Lucifer and all. While I don't want to see Sammy suffer, I'm now even more interested in what went on in that cage after getting that teeny little glimpse...

And you're not the only one that noticed the snow Airbat...I thought the exact same thing...those boys should put some more clothes on ....must be my mothering instincts (cause the fangirl is usually saying: 'get those clothes off" )

Can't wait to for next week either - I wanna see Dean wrestling a mannequin.....

    ReplyDelete
  113. Agreed, point taken, but.... in fairness... we got a trip to Bobby's house for the weekend... so I think we won that battle! I prefer pureed demon from a woodchipper to Foie gras from a sous chef any day!

  116. Wait wait...he did it to protect Sam and so it's automatically okay? Regardless of that fact he was still hiding something from Sam that Sam deserved to know. So yes, he did do it to hide it from Sam knowing full and well that Sam would eventually find out whether it be from Bobby, Campbells, Cas, whoever, that's not something you can keep hidden forever and Dean knows that. So you make it completely justifiable for Dean to lie, but Sam lies and all of a sudden it's all about Sam needing to learn not to do it?

Dean's is completely sugar-coated and brushed over while it's all "SHAME ON SAM! HE LIED TO DEAN!" When actually Sam DID come clean with Dean about remembering halfway through the episode. Yet Dean never once said a word to Sam in LaV. Sam had to trick Cas to get his info. I get he was trying to protect him and I'm not blaming him, but Dean is smarter than that and should've known better and should never have lied to Sam in the first place. Sam deserves to know what's going on. You claim to not blame Sam, but it certainly looks that way to me seeing as how you're saying that's how Sam is. Well I have news for you. That's how Dean is too.

    ReplyDelete
  117. I totally agree with this 100% this is Sam's life, let him make his own decisions on how he wants to handle it. I understand that Dean wants to protect him. So does Sam, but Sam also deserves to know the truth so he doesn't just find out about it by some backwater asshole during a hunt that he doesn't even know that could even further risk the wall. Also, Sam had no control over those memories. He said that himself. It was natural and they were just coming. Sam's a grown man, he's an adult. He should be able to do these things on his own. He wants to fix what he messed up, let him. If he makes a mistake, then he makes a mistake. We all learn from them, so let him learn what he needs to learn and handle it how he feels he needs to handle it.

  119. i really enjoyed this episode
maybe not as much as like a virgin but a pretty good bunch of liking nonetheless

i'm liking all the new monsters, that was the thing that got me really excited for this season, that we'd be having more/new MotW stuff and it has been delivered :)
    those spider eyes were terrifying!!!

i loved all the flashbacks throughout the ep, they worked really well
can't believe how evil and coldhearted robo-sam was, and that grandpa creepy just stood there and watched everything!! he did nothing!!! he's so CREEPY!!!!!

    last scene!!! woahmygod!!!!!!!!!
    poor sammy!!!!!
    lets pray he gets better

    ReplyDelete
  120. It's possible he was simply confused at first, all those memories flying at you would confuse anyone. What convinced me he's making the same mistake was that Sam promised Dean he would stay in the room, waited for him to leave, then immediately left to pursue the case on his own. To me, that's deceit. He knew Dean was worried, he knew why, he told Dean what he wanted to hear then disregarded it and did what he thought he promised he wouldn't do despite that. I'm not saying it's worse or anything from what Dean or Bobby has done in the past, I'm just saying Sam hasn't really learned much in 6 years if he's still doing that and that disappoints me. And you're not arguing, Ekas! you're discussing. :)

  122. I love your response.

Plus, it sums how up nicely I feel about LAV vs. Unforgiven. Both were great episodes but ITA Sammy poured on the Puppy Power a smidge too much in LAV. Resouled Sam's drive to set things right as much as possible seemed more natural in Unforgiven and not just because some time elapsed between the two episodes,

    ReplyDelete
  123. This...This is exactly how I felt the entire time...

    ReplyDelete
  124. ...You completely missed my point...
It was almost uncomfortable for me to watch Sam emote about what he did or didn't do and whether or not it was his fault. He can feel as much as he wants but as an actor Jared can do better, and DID do better in just the episode before this one.. Like when the realization that came over his face when Castiel was talking about the previous year, and the way he talked to Dean, it was much more believable, and much more heartfelt to me. If that's out of character then, I don't want in character anymore...

    ReplyDelete
  125. Hi Wilson :))

Ok...i get your point and respect it....we'll have to agree to disagree.....IMO....the 'flashbacks' only started in this episode, so Sam was actively 'feeling' what he did and 'experiencing' it....Whereas last week, he wasn't....The wall was sealed, and he was 'reacting' to what others told him....especially Cas....This was the 'real' emotion, cause he was feeling and remembering it...Last week was more shock and saddness that he had behaved that way....this is perfectly in character for 'Highly emotional Sammy'....but like i said, i respect what you said <33

    ReplyDelete
  126. HAHAH! Bugs... BUGS! How can you?

Only agree about the fire. (was his cheek burning, i think it was, any way I laughed at that haha) It would have been perfect to just cought at him on the floor. WE're not stupid lol. and then give us a promo that doesnt show him! I'm sure he wont be okay in the first 30 sec of next episode show us that. lol any way

loved it :P Flashbacks were great,

  130. i agree..., they should not start another lie anymore, sure sam and also dean, whatever the reason (but for me, i dont really bother abt that, i can accept all they lie because they do, not for hurt each other oh..., of course not include robo-sam did :P) my brother always lie to me, but he do because he know i will mad at him if i know, but i know anyway, but i still love him even after i have fight with him...,

    here what i think...,
first at the time sam see the road sign : he just confuse, its just like familiar...,

2nd at the restaurant he start another flashback n connected with the 1st, then he say to dean he think he have a case with samuel in that town b4, but he still not remember, the time he said that dean know that his brother start to remember some piece of memory, thats why he ask sam go n try to drag him from that town, sam win the fight anyway with his puppy dog eyes, who can reject that, not even dean :P

3nd, another flashback is when sam in jail.., n when they meet dean after brenna release him, they have no time to chit chat cause then another girl missing.., dean immediately go to check the brunette :P

4th the most longer flashback is when sam in brenna house, and after they back from brenna house sam tell dean that he remember the case but still dont remember what did it.., :)

5th the complete flashback is when sam connected the piece of evidence with dean..., :)

so i think this 2 last epi is no more lie from sam..., that what i though :P

abt he decide still go to find evidence after dean ask him to stay in the room, its remind u when sam ask dean to stay in the room in "long distance call"(if im not wrong the tittle) or when sam tell dean to stay away from the sewer in the "skin" they both is stubborn winchester, they would not listen if they think it the right think to do...,
but that is sam, he feel maybe he did a bad thing there n want to fixed..., that sam who every one yell "i want old sam back" soulful sam, empathy sam, puppy dog eyes sam, stubborn sam..., he cant just leave n forget the bad thing he did in that town..., he want to fixed it.., n that sam is..., :)

ohh yeah..., i know ltl abt this amnesia..., because i have lost a few yr of my childhood.., so i just can remember a little piece but after 20yr i still cant remember or reconnect them.., my brain even erase 1 best childhood friend, i cant remember her name if my sister dont tell me, n i cant even remember what she look like.., :)

  136. Amazing loved the flashbacks and how Dean trying still to protect Sam again. Loved the relationship between them lol , no that there gay , but missed them bonding. Hate that Sam members hell at the end . Dean must be feeling so guilty , but Sam is strong and will be ok .

    ReplyDelete
  137. I really don't think Dean was lying to Sam for himself last week. Nothing that happened indicated that to me. I think he was desperate to keep the wall up and took Death at his word. That being said, both of them need to stop lying. Both of them are to blame. Both of them need to learn from their past mistakes. But that is not the Winchester way.

    ReplyDelete
  138. I thought the hardest thing to believe was Brenna letting Sam out too. Especially after the amnesia thing. I put it down to the Plot Contrivance Anvil bashing her on the head and leaving her senseless. No thinking person would do this and that made it hard for me to believe her character.

    ReplyDelete
  139. I wonder if after what Sam saw at the end of this episode if he would have chosen the same route.

    ReplyDelete
  140. I'm not trying to put words in Sue's mouth, but I think the point is that neither Winchester is learning from their past mistakes. That's something I really wanted this season because you can only go so long watching people do the same stupid stuff over and over and getting kicked because of it. Dean shouldn't have lied to Sam about the wall. He knew it would come out eventually and Sam would feel betrayed. Just like the last 5 years. Sam should not lied to Dean about remembering stuff. He's seen that every time he does that it puts one or the other brother in danger. Just like the last 5 years. Sam should not have told Dean that he would stay in and then go out. It means that they don't know where the other one is and that almost always leads to chaos and danger in the last 5 years. If he knew that he was going to leave, he should have talked to Dean about it instead of saying he would stay. It's not like Dean could force him to stay. That leaves Dean feeling betrayed, again like it has in the last 5 years. Both of them need to use the experiences they have been through and grow up because they act like teens when they continually lie to each other. It's old and I for one am tired of listening to them whine about the aftereffects when they put themselves in these situations.

    ReplyDelete
  141. I had exactly the same reaction. Way too repetitive - not just the Great wall vs. Sammy guilt conversation part 5. They repeated what other characters said in the same episode. It's like the writers thought that we had amnesia and not Sam. I also thought it was slow and maybe the least funny episode of them all. My favorite part was the last minute too.

    ReplyDelete
  142. i just discuss with sue abt her point and my point..., the point in my post, i dont see any lie on sam, that just some piece of memory and just familiar plzz read them all, except u know exactly that sam know that is a flashback n he dont tell dean abt that and he lie in purpose, so ok i will admit im wrong n i apologies to u guys..,

and that why Im saying they both are stubborn bastard winchester they both never try to listen anyone, dean do the same, when he not listen his younger brother he put himself n his brother in danger, at least sam dont listen n keep find the evidence he just put himself in danger.., but im not bother abt that, they do because they dont know, and admit they do mistake n apologies after that..., and we cant tell this is only abt stupid stuff in the past cause spn not over yet.., i bet we will see another stupid stuff in the next n next epi because they are winchester is..., ohh yeah maybe more fault on sam because if dean do mistake no one will blame him for that neither me even that little or fatal mistake.., O_o

not try to argue u guys here....,
u guys can keep blame everything to sam, i keep love them both for they mistake for they weakness, for they strongest or hate or love or they stupid stuff, that why this is interesting show to watch (for me), ^_~

    *HUG*

  143. The problem with this is that, yes, he showed displeasure, but other than voicing it softly or questioning it, what did he do? He let Sam kill. He let him almost murder the police officer. Dean would have stopped the attack on the officer.

    ReplyDelete
  144. Mary wasn't cheapened. Think about the episode 'Home.' That's why she apologized to Sam. She had no idea what her deal would do. Did she even remember it? You make a deal with a demon and ten years do pass and you aren't suspicious at a demonic sign. The lights were flickering. She was a hunter. It was ten years. She was just happy ans satisfied with her life to an extent. She forgot that it had been ten years. what that panicky twenty something girl did was not only doom her children but the man she loved. It can be the same question here that Azazel asked Dean. Was it John that came back. In season five we know they had marital problems.

Going back to Grandpa, "Why Mary? Why not his wife, Deana? What put this obsession in his mind? Was it something about Mary that was needed to fight the boys? Was the obsession placed in the resurrected Samuel's mind?"

Even Dean, who worshiped his mother's memory knew it was wrong.
