I really liked this episode. I do hope Jane thinks about what HT told him in the end. If he talked to Lisbon then maybe they'd put together the Blake poem thing...
OK - I never saw that twist. I considered it, sure, but I couldn't SEE it happening - then it did. That's pretty well played on a jaded film critic. The Blake poem says it all - Bertram is another plant. Not sure how far his involvement goes, as he has been painted as a less dimensional character. But then, so was Rebecca. Ah, a deep breath of fresh air - unpredictable television!!
Poor Lisbon. She's really going to have to face up to her leadership insecurities. Last commentary: I normally root for the Jisbon angle but you know... I'm starting to see the Jane Hightower thing and it kills me how clever they put that out there. Jeez! Other than the terrible hand continuity... can they DO no WRONG??
I don't think there's anything going on, or building up, between Jane and Hightower. HT was grateful, and Jane's always been a bit flirty in a no-harm sense with her. Actually, I think Hightower's "last words" were an aid for Jisbon fans. "You should at least tell Lisbon" - "no, blah blah, I'm better off alone" - " NOBODY one is better off alone". I think it was her way of telling Jane: "cut the cr*p and open up to Lisbon, she's always there for you". She did not tell him to talk to Cho, to Rigsby, to anyone else, but to tell Lisbon. Obviously, she's his boss so it makes sense Lisbon's the first person to go to, but I think anyone close to Jane knows that Lisbon is always willing to go to great lengths to help him, even at her own risk. That said, I have to admit that after these two episodes I am a fan of Hightower and I hope we can see her again soon.
Did anyone observe that CBI director and Red John quote lines from William Blake's poems. Tyger Tyger was quoted by Red John. Cradle Song was quoted by CBI director. that cannot be placed in the story by chance... there has to be a connection!
Besides no matter if she's innocent she fled the arrest and pulled quite the stunt. I doubt she'll get the Job as the CBI boss again, maybe in a few years but I wouldn't buy it anyway. Originally she was a character who was created to bring tension into the office. I think here character now has served her time as much as I warmed up to her.
Oh but wait until Red John finds out he has been "outsmarted". He sure wouldn't like that and I don't want to be Hightower when that happens. Besides just quoting someone else" given her history she wouldn't be in prison but out on bail/home arrest and paid Admin leave. When police/law enforcement officials go to prison they are held out of the General Population and kept in a safe secure area."
I don't think it's Bertram, it in my opinion is to obvious! I stand by current theory that RJ's minion is O'Laughlin because he is the only one who gives me a suspicious vibe!
We are looking for someone who had access to CBI as before as the 8th episode of season 2. The second Red John mole who killed Rebecca. Bertram fits the bill better. I don't see why the writers would put that clue just to misdirect us; they could have, but I don't see it. It could also be that fat dude, Laroche.
Lisbon has the key it seems. Now she needs to make the connection. Oh if only Jane had told her about the Blake thing. It would be awesome if these two would solve the puzzle together with each of their own pieces. And if jane doesn't come around to trust Lisbon (srysl how many more people will have to tell him that he should let her in?) then I hope she solves it on her own and gets there before Jane does something stupid.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

I wouldn't like sitting in jail waiting for Jane to do that. Besides, it's supposed to be a ploy to outsmart Red John and his minion, isn't it?
