Forrest Whitacre is the only strong role, and Garcia seems out of place. Was that actor trying to hide his Scottish accent, then just decide, screw it, it's Desmond time? I liked the suspense, but it didn't have the psychological aspect deserving of the title of Criminal Minds in my honest opinion. But I will give it a fair shake.
It was actually really good. I'm guessing all of the awfuls are coming from fans of Paget and AJ that think the spin off is the reason they were let go. If you forget about the behind the scenes drama, this was a great show.
I voted awful and it has nothing to do with my feelings towards the original.
I felt the show dragged. At :39 after, I couldn't wait for it to be over. The setting was supposed to be Cleveland, OH, and it looked nothing like Cleveland. And finally, IMO, the actors/characters didn't have any chemistry.
This show didn't do it for me at all and, although I like most of the actors, I just didn't like them together in this venue.
I didn't take it as tying to hide the accent... but if he was he failed. you're right. I took it more as an UK expatriate living in the US. The accent sticks but evolves into something different... comes and oges etc.
I could watch Forrest in anything.I like the concept of one of the team members on the edge... or maybe over the edge! I would think there is a very high burn out rate of people in the field of child crimes, serial killers etc.
Yet again Raphael Sbrage plays the bad guy guest star. That's now like 19 or 20 guest roles I have seen him in... in the last 2 0r 3 years alone!
It's mot right to compare it to Criminal Minds since that show has characters I have gotten to know over 6 years , but I will say that I missed the psychological aspect of Criminal Minds. One thing is certain though, Janeane Garofaloo's unlikeability crosses over from real life to her character to me. She if this show's resident know-it-all, but has none of the charm of Reid and comes of as both oddly passionless and hyper-passionate.
Overall a good episode, but not great. It lacks something and seems unpolished, but it is only a pilot. It was fairly good and I will watch it again, but it will have to improve or tit ill be just another procedural to me.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
