Thanks to Bruce for the heads up.

Lost alum Michael Emerson is set as a lead in Jonah Nolan’s CBS pilot Person Of Interest, which is being executive-produced by Lost co-creator J.J. Abrams.

The project, directed by Heroes‘ David Semel, is a crime drama centered on an ex-CIA agent, presumed dead, who teams up with a mysterious billionaire (Emerson) to prevent violent crimes in New York City.

  1. Sounds cool, Jonah Nolan being involved and all.

I fear this does spell the end for the O'Quinn/Emerson mashup we all hoped for though :(

  3. Darthlocke:

I don't know what this means for 'odd jobs', but maybe this is Abrams way of saying whatever to NBC. Will be really excited if Terry O'Quinn signs on here too! Of course Emerson may just be on the Pilot...who knows!

  4. I'm not sure any JJ Abrams show is ever pure procedural.... but we will see....

  5. Well, you got me interested! A Nolan AND Emerson collaboration must be good.

  6. I'm confused. When I heard about this show (Person of Interest), I thought "hey, that sounds a lot like Odd Jobs". Suddenly. Michael Emerson is cast AND J.J. Abrams is involved... Could this possibly be a reinvented Odd Jobs? If it was pushed back for a season under a new name, although strange (especially since Odd Jobs had the whole Lost community buzz behind it), it could just be a more serious version of what we expected.

  7. Shows definitely change working titles from script to pilot to series.... so it wouldn't be the first time!

  8. No, they really are 2 different projects :)

  9. I had decided to watch this show just because Johnathan Nolan (amazing writer!) was a part of it (J. J. Abrams also, of course). Now, there is no way I am going to miss this show. This show is getting more and more awesome.

  10. Unfortunately, I think you are right about O'Quinn/Emerson thing. But I can't be more exited for Person of Interest

  11. Undercovers was never a great concept to begin with. This sounds more interesting and the people involved in the project are great; I'm sure it won't be as disappointing as Undercovers.

  12. No no, Odd Jobs was something Emerson and Terry were thinking about backed by J. J. Abrams. Person of Interest, as far as I know, is an original concept by Nolan, backed by J. J. Abrams.
